• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

I have decided to make this poll to sees something. I want to see the approximate number of people that play chars opposite to their sex i.e a male playing a female and a female playing a male, and which one is more frequently done. So please select the one that is yours and also comment the name of your chars and their sex for fun. Lets see how far this will Go. And I know this poll is not to pretty but it does not need to be.

Brenna and Astrid are my female characters while Murlo and Nu-Eel are my male ones uwu

All of my character I have ever created have been female. Though it would be quite interesting to role-play as a male character, though he would most likely come of gay due to how I'd role-play him.. -cri-

I have a female character in stock, but I am not sure if I would be able to play her very well.

I mean I want to try a male char, Buuuut I Seem to always turn them into girls.. BUT If you let one of the twin children of whatshisfaces be a guy then i'll play the guy char proudly.

While I usually end up playing females, I don't mind playing both. Usually gender isn't something I think about right off the bat. I think the reason I end up playing more females is because it's just the first thing that pops into my head.

My females are Naomi, Piper, Neela, and Cecily.
My males are Umon and Edward.

Toomanycharacters.

I started off this server roleplaying as a female but have reverted to a male character ever since finding it easier to relate and hence more suitable roleplay

So far ive only played Male characters. Infernus Valund a male dakkar(Used to be agni), Sekhemib a male Torpid, Tyrion Coen a male human, and a time mage i forgot the name of but was a male.

My three females: Yazgash Gra-Ucksrash, Annette, and Allison Abiteth , and I have one male character: Qiao Zhang ^-^

Adofo is my male character and I am planning a female one.

Decided to stick to male only characters due to between the lines double standard roleplay from some people. It bothers me on a personal level that male characters defined as "flirts and playboys" try to talk up their way to every female character they see, but avoid female characters of which they know are played by a male. This entire premise ruins my immersion as a female because people around me purposefully break character to avoid something in character.

I did have a female character at one point, though dropped them because I got bored. I usually don't let a character's gender effect how I play them, it's all in the personality. Though I'll admit that most of my characters are male, just because male characters pop into my head more often.

Oh oops, I voted for the wrong thing.

I play mostly male characters, but I have one female character who is a Naga. I only play her in survival and in Sylvan, and I don't really think I am very good at playing her, so she is more or less just a test.

I have 2 male characters and a female character
My 2 males are William Greyy, and Sheldon Barlow

My female character is Rosi Greyy

Look. To everyone that finds discomfort with a male playing a female character: it's fine. I mean, there should never be a situation where you feel uncomfortable roleplaying, afterall, roleplaying is supposed to be a fun, enjoyable escape. But like, I feel like that if you're so adamant about the idea of gender roles/gender identification OOC that it conflicts with IC progression, then perhaps intense roleplay just isn't for you. I mean, I'm not saying that you should abandon all morals and what not once you hop onto the computer, but for the sake of playing a character, perhaps you can understand that neglecting that simple character progression really does have a sort of. Uh. Negative effect on the person behind the monitor.

I mean, I can cite various instances where people who have been confused about my gender have felt uncomfortable when roleplaying with me, especially if there was any sort of intimate relation sparking up. Of course, I am completely fine with that and I will happily drop the roleplay, because I am not one to force someone into a position of roleplay they are not comfortable with. But at the same time, do realize that me dropping that sort of progression sorta leaves me in an awkward place. I feel sorta rejected and left behind because of my own IRL gender/sexuality, and I'm forced to live this sort of life on Massive where I apparently carry this miasma of gender confusion. I know for a fact people talk all sorts of mess about me and I tend to brush it off as little whispers/rumors, but when they're sort of publicly demonstrated by the refusal to roleplay with me or anyone else who gender-bends, it sorta hurts because it implies truth in everyone everyone apparently said.

I'm not one to banter like this, so please take my words into proper consideration. I really hope tat one day the roleplay community on Massive can open up a bit, and just. Roleplay for the sake of roleplaying. (H)

P.S. To boys and girls, please for the love of all that is good, do not play an opposite-sex character if you milk stereotypes. Whether it's a gender stereotype or a sexuality stereotype, please try not to play a character out as a lady-whore or guy-whore whose sexulities are inflated to the highest of stereotypical flare.

I always play female characters, having been brought up by women and not had the male guidance until quite late in my life I feel most comfortable with myself when roleplaying a female character.

I play two male characters, Rinus and Darcell.
Then I play two female characters, Nithwe and Asioa.
I usually stick to playing asexual or gay characters if they are male, however, none of my characters have ever been particularly outgoing in their relationships. In fact, only one of my characters, Rinus, has ever been in a relationship with someone.
I myself am male, and to be honest, I don't see why someone should not be able to play a character of the opposite sex, however, I tend to stick with what I know and everything, meaning all of my characters with the exception of Darcell are fairly feminine in nature.

I'd quite like to play a female character as I feel it would broaden my horizons; it would be interesting. I've never approached roleplay from that side and while I'm not usually desperate to experience diverse RP in terms of broader topics like race and gender, focussing on personality, it could be interesting to change the gender. That said, I have only played male characters as of this post.

Baba, I think most would agree with me when I say that Celine Anahera was a foxy grandma and everyone wanted to get with that.

Anyways, this thread is fantastic and it's interesting to read.

I play as a gay male because best of both worlds

I've only ever played male characters before, but recently I've taken the habit of simply flipping a coin when the gender of one of my characters is not set in stone.

I find it adds a bit more spark to personal roleplay, especially when the personality of the character does not meet the given societal, or personal expectations, even when it is simply a chance of birth.

I can't say I've had the same problem, but I definitely agree with like. All of this.

I play a female naga, but I never do any sexual things nor will I do any stereo types. I play her like any regular character. I will always drop any awkward gender situations, because that is just weird for me, and all others.

I play a hermaphrodite* character and this question confuses me :D

* Not in a dramatic way, the species this maiar is based on is hermaphrodite, period.

Well, I play Feanor Rythen and formerly Ramuthra Aduros, but, I have never tried playing a female. This is mostly because I wouldn't be able to act like one, even just over text. I can hardly understand women already, so how on earth would I be able to RP as one? (Don't take this offensively. I am just a sociopath and don't understand other people, but especially women. xD)

Yes. Exactly. Since my characters are somewhat anti-social, I never get into any form of romantic relationships with people. I'm perfectly ok with people playing opposite gender characters, as long as a guy playing a female character doesn't start heavily flirting with one of my characters. Then I'll just feel hollow inside, and really awkward. :D

I agree with all of this so much, I mean, wow. Very, very well said.

On topic. I, like Baba and some others, play female characters despite being male. I don't really have a problem with romance or anything, because when I play a character, I do my best to think like them. If they like men, then they'll try to date men. I'm confident enough in my sexuality that I can easily take on the role of one of my characters without feeling awkward at all when they're hit on.

Well... I never actually played a female character on here although I been thinking about it
