So, because of the departure as Valentinian as Lore Staff member as well as Kade Patriarch and Noble Manager, some changes were inbound to accommodate both for the loss of manpower, as well as the slight cultural shift. Changes are detailed below with how they will affect players:
On Nobility:
On Nobility:
- The Noble System will inherently not change. All systems myself and Valentinian put in place will remain in place because we are still convinced they were changed for the better. Everything will continue as it was.
- That being said, when it concerns title assessment, previously the value split was very 80-10-10. In the spirit of making the system a bit more open to more participants, the relations between Noble Title Assessments have been modified to 50-25-25. This has already been reflected in the title registry.
- Because I am now the sole Noble Manager, administrative workload will slow down. I am currently recruiting a new Noble Manager(s) from the Lore Staff to eventually pick this up, but it means that paperwork will go slower.
- House Kade will take a less out there approach at public presence. The Family will "return" to it's backdoor DM position of non-involvement as the sleeping giant.
- The Crime System is working, but we are still working on the setup phase. Because I need to spend more time reforming Noble related Stuff, Aespair will need to focus solely on the paperwork for this system. That does mean that the Noble System will cause the Crime system to slow down a little bit, but not considerably.
- Due to public demand, the Unionist Lore has been revised. We have removed the Supreme Reverend from lore and replaced him with the Holy Synod, an assembly of Reverends who discuss, debate and vote on interpretations of holy word. The https://wiki.massivecraft.com/Unionism page has been updated to reflect these changes.
- Themai have been implemented which makes conflict rp in the Synod possible. Not every Reverend needs to follow the same interpretation of Unionism, therefor it is possible for Reverends to try and compete over which interpretation of Holy Word is the correct one. Without the Supreme Reverend present, this of course allows Reverends to take more underhanded approaches to compete with one another.
- Reverency is not a permission. It is not "nobility for church" and doesn't grant any troops. It's still higher in authority than curates. Every Reverend is automatically permitted to join the Holy Synod as long as they have an approved Character Application, and Reverends may also be members of Noble Houses (and secretly gang members).
- The Imperial Guard is being changed in a way that reflects less combat prowess. The Nellon Serum has been removed from the lore and the super hulk power of the Imperial Guard has been suspended with some sort of alchemical excuse solution.
- This means that the Imperial Guard are just average fighters now who happen to have been charged with the security of the Imperial Family, the Emperor, though as of recent, also of the Holy Synod and the Reverends to give them more to do in daily roleplay.
- This means that the Imperial Guard (unless they choose to) are no longer indoctrinated to the Emperor to where they cannot disagree or work in the shadows. While it's not recommended to play a traitor Imperial Guard, it allows the Imperial Guard to have loose interpretations of what it means to protect the Imperial Family (even from themselves). Imperial Guards may, as such, become general roleplay characters and be included in plotting.
- Imperial Guards will be recruited most likely by the Imperial Steward. Any recruit may send the Imperial Steward a letter. On the matter of the Imperial Steward that is played by @SupremeCripple, Tristan Lampero is raised up above the Imperial Guard as Imperial Protector, sort of an Imperial Guard+ rank (which can be acquired to really exceptionally loyal Imperial Guard) that does not have an Imperial Guard Commander and listens only directly to the Emperor. Additionally, SupremeCripple has been granted the Grandmaster permission for the Feer-Drakken school for Tristan Lampero, on the condition of a narrative storyline with the Dragon Wardens and his management work as Steward.
- As soon as there are enough Imperial Guard Characters, competition may begin over the Commander position.
