• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

If you are reading this that means I have now made a decision that most wouldn't.

I'm sure you are all wondering what that decision is exactly. So here's a blunt list.

1. Donated my life savings to charity.
2. Burned everything in my wallet. Money, credit card, license ext.
3. Dropped out of college.

Though I have done more, these are the most important. I bet you are reading this and wondering what the heck your reading.

You are reading my permanent seal of freedom. Since I was young I have always been inspired by Christopher Mcandless. If you don't know who that is I highly suggest reading the book, Into The Wild.

I will be hitchhiking to a place far, far away. I'm not entirely sure yet, but what I do know is that I will eventually live off the land.

The reason why is clear to me. I have lived through things at a age that no one ever should. My father was a successful businessman man on one hand, but a dead beat drunk on the other. He would come home from the bars and beat on me, my sister, and on occasions my mother. I don't think I ever received a hug from either of my parents, or ever heard the words, "I love you" spoken from then. Just deteriorating insults. My mom didn't even bat an eye at moments when my fathers temper skyrocketed. She simply didn't care about us.

My father has passed away since from cancer. My mother has abandoned her family. He My older sister had ran away with a boyfriend, and eventually I was living with my uncles family at the age of 16. The family I lived with wasn't much better than my own, but it was something. They gave me an education, food, ext. I've always been a smart kid, always shy though. My biological parents had signed me up for wrestling at a young age, around 5 or 6. And I continued doing it. One year I had actually won the state tournament, and was offered a scholarship. I've been in college for a year now and it's been long enough for me to know that I don't want to dedicate my life to making momey.

Writing this was very difficult, and reading it makes me feel sad, and I'm starting to wonder if this may be to dark to post.

I'm positive you are all wondering why I'm sharing this with you. It's because this server has helped me in so many different ways. It gave me my friends, and got me through the roughest of times.

I want to thank all of you and make sure you know that this decision isn't making me sad. Not at all. It's making me extremely joyful to know that the greatest journey lay ahead.

Goodbye

Make sure you know how to preserve food otherwise you'll be an easy kill during winter. Unless you live in a really hot place. Good luck!

I respect your decision and hope things go wonderful for you, but I may state please be safe and careful, theres a lot of people willing to do bad things out there. Anyways Good Luck!

@Gazonni
... Why so extreme? I feel this isn't really a well thought out decision- it sounds simple on paper, but when you actually do it it might not end out favorably. For your sake, I advise you to seek advice before you go through, talk to someone, a professional, maybe a physiatrist. I don't think your source of inspiration is that.. great either, considering his tragic and untimely death. Ultimately for your safety and wellbeing, I ask that you rethink this.

No matter how amazing Alexander Supertramp/Christopher McCandless was, he had years of training and he spent years planning before he set off, and he still ended up dying after about 2 years. I honestly don't think this is a good idea at all.

I thank you all for your warnings, and would like you guys to know that I will not be putting myself in any "extreme" situations anytime soon. I will most likely end up temporarily living with a group of hippies or something along those lines. I've already thought over this since a very young age. If I do not do this I will be letting myself down. I know I must sound insane but to me this is the only sane thing to do in my situation.

Thank you all, but I highly doubt will happen, and if something does I will be able to handle it. Unlike Chris I will not be placing myself extremely far from civilization. The place I have set my eyes set on is about an hour hike away from a very small town. Either way it will be a lot more thrilling life than what life has for most. I will set out tomorrow.

I really think you shouldn't do this, the least you can do instead is go to the police or something if you really can't stay at home? How do you expect to get food and supplies if you've burned all your money because living in the middle of the wild isn't going to have any grocery stores.

Okay, well I suggest you tell a friend or someone where you plan to stay, so they can check on you every once in a while... I dunno.

Burning your license and money was the first mistake you made. In the event you do need help, not only will you have an ID to enter a hospital, you will not have the money to pay for treatment.

This ^

Honestly it's extremely .. not thought out to burn something you need to live if you should get hurt. If you've been hurt you go to police or something, not abandon society to live with the bears. ;~;

The bush provides plenty food.

I hope you're joking.

You wouldn't be getting any meat really, which would take a bad toll on you because the only thing you'd get is like bugs or mice - bigger game would require a weapon, which how are you going to get that? This is really a bad decision, you could get killed or hurt.

I'm not going to be going in there with nothing. I will be bringing items such as a basic rifle, rice, and all essential items

There isn't much in terms of fatty foods in the bush, so you risk dying due to that. That is party what contributed to Chris's death, along with ingesting dangerous foods.

You won't be able to fire the rifle, people would hear it and if you get caught you can be arrested since you don't have a license.

I have studied numerous books about the wildlife of the area, and when it comes to plants I will be sticking with a select few which I know are safe.
You are a college student, not an expert in wildlife survive- take the show "Alone". It focuses around survival experts going into the wild with next to nothing and having to survive. Many of them leave within a week or two because they can't find food or get hurt. The people that last longer have to leave because they are alone and we are social creatures: it doesn't matter that you don't talk much, just being around people fixes it and it could drive you to do bad things if you are alone too long. This is not a good idea.

This is. I really agree with @AtticCat.
Game alone isn't sustaining, especially with some of the leaner animals. That's assuming you even manage to catch one.

That's assuming you find them.

What about winter? When animals hibernate, plants die, and the weather is far from comfortable.

I will switch to a bow and arrow.
Stop right there. This is not a good plan at /all/. It's so much harder to take game down with a bow. Please take a step back and don't put yourself at risk because of some impulse. No offense intended, but you come off as grasping at straws and utterly, illy prepared. You're young, and likely inexperienced. Please don't put yourself in what could very well become a death sentence.

That problem did occur to me. I may get a dog or something along those lines. It's very late and I'm going to start packing. I promise I will be fine. Thank you for your concern

You aren't going to be able to care for the dog let alone legally attain one considering you have no money.
