i just joined and it says that you need premium to change your character

Inventory Split Incoming
MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.
Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.
Important Dates
- April 1: Trunk storage opens.
- May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
- June 1: Inventories are officially split.
Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

@JoshuaTippy Welcome to Massivecraft! If you're referring to the /char command, that's only an extra aesthetic function used to describe your roleplay character and has no effect on gameplay. Otherwise if you still have questions or anything, feel free to ask.
how do i get started, where do mobs spawn, and are there bosses
You can start in either factions or roleplay. Use /tp regalia for roleplay or /tp factions to get to factions.
Mobs spawn in the factions worlds all over the place.
MassiveMobs is a plug in that we use to make special mobs. You know there is a massive mob when the name of it is blue, green, yellow, or pink. Yellow and pink are boss mobs and spawn very rarely. More info can be found browsing the wiki.
If you ever need help in game, use h: to change channels and ask in help chat.

Your best bet for starting out is to find a Faction to take care of you and help you learn about the server. You can check the Faction Recruitment section of the forums or use recruitment chat in-game by typing /ch join r.
There are several gameplay styles on MassiveCraft: Roleplay, Factions/Survival, and Questing.
- Roleplaying takes place in the world of Regalia, you can type /tp Regalia or /tp roleplay to reach there. Roleplaying here is mostly chat and text-based acting and pretending.
- Factions/Survival takes place in the Faction worlds. Currently there are three active worlds: New Ceardia, Teled Methen, and Fendarfell. Type /tp factions to get to the Factions hub. You can start building once you leave a world's spawn area. All Faction worlds have a plugin enabled that restores land every six months unless it's claimed by a Faction.
