• Inventory Split Incoming

    MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

    Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

    Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

I've decided to build a network of elytra towers to make travel faster. I got tired of having to run everywhere and was bored, so i said screw it(!), I'm gonna build a network of medieval yet slightly futuristic elytra towers for the whole server to enjoy! I currently have two nodes setup, one just west of spawn and another out in the east. The towers are going to be placed in N,S,E,W directions at the MAXIMUM flyable distance from each other. Because of terrain issues flying might not get you as far coming back as it did going. I can't do much about it, but so far if you fly east of spawn you will reach the second tower, and if you fly back to spawn you will reach spawn, just short of the first tower. So it's important that you fly straight in the direction you want to go, otherwise you won't reach the next tower. If you need help just check dynmap. I'm going to try to eventually have a line of towers in each direction that will reach to every coast. I cannot guarantee the towers won't get griefed. I'm gonna do my best to keep them up, but you know how people are. In the past i'd have just claimed them and left them open to the public but I can't cause of the rule changes. I hope you guys find them useful and enjoy them!

Definitely willing to help maintain them once they're up if need be. I think it's a pretty neato idea.
 
@spacegravity4me Im working on settting up a storage system for fireworks and food at the spawn tower. Will do my best to keep it stocked.
 
Been stocking the tower near spawn with fireworks and baked potatoes. People seem to be taking stuff, so thats good.
 
@spacegravity4me your project has been removed by staff, my officer nyrock is rebuilding a new one close to spawn. Will do our best to keep it maintained.

I wanted to say I really appreciate your help! The new top was much better than the one I had built and the elytra rockets were awesome. I'll be honest, I didn't know what elytra rockets were capable of. I had never tried them until the other day. I was still pressing on with the towers for noobs and people without rockets though, I honestly didn't expect them to remove it. It looks like they reset that whole area. I don't know if that was just because of me or if they do that regularly. I did my best to build something that was functional, looked nice and fit within the server guidelines. Thanks to you guys for building another one. That's really awesome of you! I hope they don't remove the ones farther away from spawn. Elytra towers are supposed to be legal and if they look the part and help out I'd hope they would be left up. I see people building roads around the server and I don't really see a difference.

See, the difference is that the roads are essentially aesthetic, while your towers are functional, and prioritizing practicality over cosmetics is a big no-no

I really wish i knew why the first tower was removed. A lot of the area was reset as well. I don't know if it was too close to spawn or for aesthetic reasons. I tried to make something midevil looking but with a cleaner look to it. I know the towers aren't layered masterpieces, but they aren't cobble stacks either. It just sucks cause i was bored and wanted to make something that would help everybody out and then to have it removed, it's like I guess I could have spent that time working on a script or doing something productive for myself.

I am obviously not staff, so I cannot give you a concrete answer, but I suspect it had something to do with a project begun around a week or two ago, involving building a wall around spawn. Staff responded by resetting those and many other chunks, removing builds that presumably were considered unsightly or breaking with the theme. I wasn't there at the time, but as I understand it there was a good deal of flame going back and forth, and the situation was pretty unpleasant.

Your tower mainly got caught in the crossfire of all the flame that happened that day, chunks were being reset to clean up the wall and your tower ended up getting deleted aswell due to it being kinda grief? i mean it was just a massive nerd pole going straight up into the sky.. Not a pretty sight, although im all for this idea you guys just gotta make sure the towers look good and arent just nerd poles - use mountains they are high up or just make larger towers that look nice

lol, I don't know if I should feel insulted cause I really tried to make it look good! rofl. Maybe my sense of design sucks and I need to take some lessons or something. lol. Don't know about building a new one. Viddar said they built one but I can't seem to find it.
 
So when I started this project I didn't realize how amazing and easy to make elytra rockets are. They pretty much make towers obsolete and you can even take off from flat ground most of the time. All that to say I'm cancelling this project. I really appreciate the support and everything that ya'll gave it. There just doesn't seem to be a need for it. Shoot, I've been flying around like crazy and it's amazing. Thanks again guys. SPACE
