• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

So, we all base our characters off some details, from as major as the entire character (@DrFong) to small details and trivial facts (@KorgTheCool)! What are yours?

Marianne :
1. The reason her color scheme is red and her sister's is green is because there's a slight orgin to Mario and Luigi, as there is a running joke called Marioanne Saltziale. It is also based off the Italian flag, and that fact that they are opposites.
2. Her father is a dead heretic who 'commanded respect', which is a reference to Brambleclaw (WC) and Aaron Burr (H).
3. Her personality is a mix of multiple guard charaters (You know who you are) and Javert. (LM)
4. Her fighting style and choice of wording is a tribute to Undyne. (UT)
5. Her family was 'born from a gutter', a reference to Javert. (LM)
6. Her structure looks like P-Body (P2), which is ALSO a reference to her and her sister.
7. Her tea addiction is based of Eeevee's, @Winterlapis 's, @CyberMo01 's, @KorgTheCool 's and my inside joke about snapple.

Sanurra :
1. Her name is both Egyptain and African, and means kitty. It's also a tribute to Sans (UT) sand Sansa Stark (GoT), as she has a similar fighting philosophy to Sans and a similar... Dark story to Sansa, to say the least.
2. Her color scheme is based of me. Sooo...
3. Her old application made her seem nice and compassionate, and followed the law. Her rewrites are the opposite of this, which is also a reference to Sansa and a reference to Jon val Jon (Is that how you spell it?) (LM)
4. Her fighting style is similar to Black Panther's as well, though not nearly as skilled. This is because her design is a panther furry.
5. Her general 'theme' is based off Abeke (SA), who has a feline as a Spirit Animal.
6. Her old personality was based off Papyrus (UT) and who I wanted to be (less lazy lol), whilst her new one is based off the RPG shady messenger niche, and hints of Ztril and Knockturn Alley store owners.
7. Her very, very old concept art was based off Nightcloud (WC)

Both :
1, Sanuura's everything Marianne isn't. This is to combat so called One Perspective Roleplay, or just getting into sewer roleplay whilst Mari can stick to her nooble politics.
2. ^^^ They also have opposite color schemes, opposite builds, opposite dreams and opposite fighting styles, as well as opposite personalites. Sanurra is a calm, manipulative introvert who prefers to stay hidden in the shadows of the sewers and wait for a perfect op-purr-tunity (i'm sorry), whilst Mari is the a impatient but gifted woman who rushes into things and claims whatever she finds as fast as possible.
3. She has a sister and the condition of her father is unknown, and her sister is her opposite. This is connected to Marianne.
4. Marianna is literally based of Javert and Sanurra is literally based off Jon val Jon. If that isn't a connection I don't know what is.

Kaezir is me with a lot of insanity sprinkled on top. His outfit I designed came mostly out of my head. Pulled a lot of inpiration from characters I previously designed for my own stories.

The rest kind of just happened. Like Aziel was me falling in love with the Shendar design and Alvah was me experimenting with demonic mutations.

Alf Cooper
  • Alf's nearsightedness, liking towards dark colors, and very thin, frail build is based off of me.
Luthon Iorston
  • Luthon is just a character I created on my own. He is greatly inspired by Chaotic Good alignment, as he 'Blesses' people with the void via blood magic, as he's a Void Worshipper.
Zahar & Leah Femia
  • Believe it or not, the Femia Sister's backstory(s) is inspired by Magi: Labyrinth of Magic with that one character (I can't remember his name) having an abusive father, having lived in poverty (technically the Femia's were in the sewers, but it's similar), the older sibling having murdered their father out of rage, and the older sibling being very protective of the younger one.

Characters~

Noelle Hath- is based loosely off Lady Krestel from The Winner's trilogy and myself.

Juliette Le Seur- is Christopher Rowe from The Blackthorn Key (but a girl) and my own image of a adventurer to be

Conf Ladveer :

Conf has actually been nearly killed more times than he can count. More precisely, OOCly I know he has nearly died twenty three times, counting only 8 occasions in his backstory.

Conf once went out drinking with Raven. After several drinks and a blackout, he awoke on the piano in the Noble Lounge, missing his shirt and boots. He has no recollection of what happened, and every time he asked Raven just laughed.

Conf is a Bastard- literally. His father was a noble, who got a little too close to a weaver- much to his wife's disapproval. However, no matter how much she loathed Conf's existence, it seems her suspicions of her daughter attempting to murder her to steal the titles was stronger, as she named Conf heir in her will.

Conf has performed a number of jobs, including but not limited to: Waiter, Blacksmith's Apprentice, Wood Carver, Deck Hand, Mason, Scribe, Librarian, Barman, Cook, Cafe Owner, Mercenary, Smuggler, Airship Deck Hand, Pirate, and finally- Noble. It is worth noting that the majority of his jobs lasted a very short time- hence the large number of them.

Conf has a lovely assortment of scars. Most are from his days as a Mercenary or Pirate, however a few how interesting stories attached. He has a long thin scar- almost fully healed- on his back from when he met Tara as a child. The Dakkar, also a child at the time, mauled him, brutally injuring him. Surprisingly enough, they eventually became very good friends. He also has a nice large scar on his lower abdomen where he was run through with the spike of a Lantern Shield. And finally, the saddest and edgiest, a thick scar around the upper part of his neck, where he recently tried to hang himself after his fiance's severed head was sent to him in a box.

Conf spent a year under the influence of a Liberty Possessed Coin. This is part of what affirmed and cemented his already loosely formed Liberal- or some would say Jacobinist- ideals and morals. The coin was eventually stolen after Conf was attacked by EIGHT people dressed in black armor at once in the Sewers. The only thing they stole was the coin, and they knew exactly where it was hidden in his boot, oddly.

Kek forgot the "based off of" bit.

Conf is inspired by Matrim Cauthon from Wheel of Time. Even down to the neck scar- though that was actually accidental, I only realized after that had happened that that made him have even more of a resemblance to Mat.

Ok, Bjorn was based off of a beautiful image of a Viking assassin picture, Ret was semi-based off of Gaara from Naruto and..
[Insert Mushroom guy's name here because I forget my own char.. RIP] Is based off of Light Yagami from Death Note and uhm... Toad... From Mario...

(quick tone) Ana -min-ya-mey.

Tim's initial design aesthetically was entirely tom baker, and then his design was altered so much that he became his own thing really.
Curtis initially started out as very Aran Ryan-esc, but then he got fucked up real bad and then character development happened.
Tim's voice is based off of a youtuber's voice (Cryaotic)
Curtis's voice is based off Frank from Life is Strange

Sir Dwight Pendav contains multiple pieces of inspiration

Arthur Clennam, a plucky gentleman and the male lead from Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens

Ross Poldark, a firey and rebellious British captain from the series Poldark

Lord Grantham from the tv series Downton Abbey

Sherlock Holmes (In the original stories)

Alak'aer is based off...

Welp. He's based off some things that I don't wanna discuss, but he also represents part of my personality-- the determined, hamilton-esque underdog that wants to rise up and make a difference in the world he lives in. Oh, and that's a huuuge exaggeration of my personality, but that's what he's based off. My determination. (Flowey, I swear, if you attempt to steal my soul again--)

Anyways, just some char study :)

time to make a soul mate yanar
and a angry political qadir

Sarah
is based off of Selene from the "Underworld" franchise.

selene-underworld-fight-scene-o.gif

Appius
  • Appius was inspired by my interest in the Crusades sparked by a whole bunch of memes. Because of this, in RP I often refer to him as "the saracen" among other things.
  • Appius' deep loyalty and dutifulness was inspired by Frederick from Fire Emblem: Awakening in a recent playthrough of mine at the time.
  • Appius' "Predictable..." common saying and general lack of charisma is inspired by Lon'qu from the same game in the Fire Emblem series.

Weeeelp,, time to expose my secrets lmao.

Teresa Grimaldi:
Honestly inspired by the Italian Mafia and House Dimir from Magic the Gathering, heck, if you look closely her sewer disguise was taken from the art of Dimir Guildmage. Not to mention she's a bit like both masters of the guild, albeit unintentionally. I mean, she fills both the "shapeshifting shady figure that hides in plain sight and gathers intelligence using their shapeshifting magic" and "manipulative vampire" archetypes. And she's an angry Italian that leads a gang, no subtlety there lmao. Additionally, while her personality is nothing like mine, irl I'm also Italian/French, a musician, and an artist, along with looking sorta physically similar to her, except I'm a pale underweight midget potato.

Kayumi Chigusa:
Inspired by several things; The Izzet League, from the same MtG storyline as the Dimir, my extreme need for a Ch'ien-ji char bc I'm a giant weeb, the fact that Ice Magic is so rarely played due to its inefficiency in combat compared to things like Lightning and Fire, and finally she's sorta based upon myself too. Irl I'm into chemistry, physics, astronomy, etc, along with also having the base Izzet personality, so when she's an alchemist and astrologer with a Izzet-inspired personality, that's sorta also based upon me. To expand on the traits associated with the Izzet guild, they're basically scientists that believe anything is worth effort if someone is passionate about it. They break the "laws"/stereotypes associated with scholars and logical types, because they think with their hearts, and constantly have some sorta new idea. However, unlike the Izzet, Kayu is not chaotic or selfish, just simply disorderly, and she doesn't combine elements just to see what'll happen, instead focusing on the end result. She eventually took a turn from being fully based on the Izzet and myself to becoming her own unique character, and it's great tbh.

Silvian - A drunk conspiracy theorist that happens to luck out on near-death situations. Mostly based off Gravity Falls but edgier, while being inspired from the character Erika Furudo from the Umineko no naku koro ni series, along with multiple other mystery characters, such as Ryoko Otonashi when it comes to abilities.

Lunette - She wasn't based of anything and I built her personality from scratch - she was supposed to be a Liberty silvert but she got rejected so.

General Basis of Characters
When I make a character, I can'y really bring myself to put myself in a completely different mind set. The only character that never was outside of that was Mallorie. A character of mine I always make a tid bit of myself, it's like the emotions from Inside out, or maybe it's like that doll creator in, 9 was it? Or 8? Some strange movie I saw as a child. Anywho. You'll see as I rant off what these characters base off of.

Ellotriel
Ellotriel, my nature freak, my first and only evergrwoth mage. As I mentioned beforehand, my characters are a sliver of me. Ellotriel is the part of me that wants things to settle down, my serenity, and my love of the forest. She was soley based off of a norse folk tale about about a man with antlers, he wandered the forest and protected it... A Father Nature of sorts. But Ellotrield a a female version, when her forest, her "garden" is under attack, she will do anything to protect it. She never values friendships and always is secluded, it's best to leave her to her animals and plants. She was a shot out of the dark since I needed, or wanted, an evergrowth mage, I don't play her very often (will try to get to her) since I seem to have gotten bored with her play style.

Alva O'Cassedy
Ah Alva, my first void possessed demon goat lady. I had her the longest, so her personality almost fused with mine, almost, otherwise I'd be a big d bag right now. She was the part of me that always wanted chaos, violence was the answer to the riddle, dismissing the good to avoid morals. She was of course the side of me that was a total d bag I never got a chance to release. She was also inspired by a Bjorning from Lord of the Rings/Hobbit/Middle earth, having the power to tranform into dangerous beasts (ie Alva's Direwolf now wolf ellon.). Also heavily based on Norse culture, and my family's past family genealogy. At first she reflected the innocence of me, the Original green cloaked Alva. As she resembles a symbol, the innocence died and became Malice... Wow... I'm about to trip right now and feel bad for myself...

Unsterbligh Vogel Der Heiler
My one, and only, cliche~! The cliche mad german doctor who is insane yet still helps people, through amputation and series of laughing. He was based off of World War II german medics, in his story implies, the Crystalis? War. However during the creation I played a game called TF2, my intended build for him was so similar, I took a few personality traits, not to mention style and speech. I eventually thinned out the similarities and made it my own. This character surprisingly has me to it. It's partly my will to care, sometimes Unsterbligh won't care for certain people since they are either annoying or below him. Of course I never express this since my moral standards are always on high. I enjoyed this character, until I found the concept rather, might I say, out of place. He did have a wife and a child, which neither of which are played anymore, so there's that reason too.

Mallorie Nonelle (Non'Elle?)
This one I had a severely hard time playing, she took no part in a mind set, and quite possibly the only vampire I have. Te'suik was a cool race, and I wanted her to be a infiltrator and kill things from the inside, but rather quickly her play style was changed, she is rather more, might I say, formal. Whereas before she was a Zoro vigilante with good and bad intentions, who knew how to use a Dressloni Spaddi/Epee really well. These skills I never got to use since she's a baroness, and I couldn't find any way to promote her, since let's be honest, I don't kow a lot of people and a lot of people don't know me.

Xiang'Pa Sun
Most recent, and probably the one with the most killing inspiration, and my first and only Chien-ji. When I first started, I played a game called Rune Factory 4, I loved their character set ups, despite some of their cliche builds, one of them stood out and I decided to make a character that was based on certain priorities, the biggest one her her fashion sense, which is exactly as the character's muse. Her skills are based off of a Physical Discipline teacher who taught his students parkour, his viewpoint on parkour was strange. He saw it as meditation and a way to free the body of stress, giving the person the power to believe no physical object could obstruct them, gievn they aren't inside a boxed room or have broken arms and legs. Her personality is based on myself, the biggest part of me. She's kind, sometimes desperate so she will resort to crime at times, she's insecure, but for some reason expects people to approach her.

Naushe is based off of a mixture of people, both in my life and fictional. He's most similar to myself, though.

• Naushe enjoys fighting and conflict, which is a subtle nod to my father's past. My dad used to take part in a lot of fights during his twenties and early thirties, both in the ring and out. Additionally, my father tends to believe that he's usually right about certain subjects-- Naushe isn't one to back down when he feels he's doing the right thing; it is yet another trait the two of them share. They both also have a bit of a temper.

• Naushe is also highly dependent on alcohol. This was something I wanted to delve into for both educational purposes and inspiration brought about by the 1980's movie Arthur. I was hesitant about going too far into detail regarding the disease due to concern regarding those that have struggled with it themselves or through loved ones, but I wanted to find a fair compromise between being appropriate and accurately portraying the negative effects. Hopefully, I've roleplayed it in good taste so far...

• The remainder of his character is proooobably representative of
me. He's fearful of a handful of things, such as commitment, death, pain, failure, and being forgotten. He's also protective of those that can't defend themselves; while I'm not the most proactive person, I do want to help those that I can, even if I'm too afraid to do it at times. He cares deeply about family, typically doing anything he can to please them. He adores children and actively interacts with those he meets-- he's fairly good at communicating with young ones. He handles most problems with humor, be it false or sincere. He loathes being ridiculed, but only when it's out of hatred or distaste. He yearns to amount to something someday; however, he is content with providing for his family, even if it means he's destined for mediocracy.

Well, there you go. ;u ; I wrote too much.

Noctis Altman:
  • His personality is based off of Yuu Otosaka from Charlotte and Halt o' Carrick from Ranger's Apprentice. This means he's a sadistic, sarcastic, cynical, depressed, insomniac and mentally ill person.
  • His looks are loosely based off of Yuu Otosaka and Staz Charlie Blood. He has the same build, hairstyle and his clothes are very loosely based off of Yuu's (Or the 'One Eyed Grim Reaper') clothes in the last episode. The dark circles under his eyes are based off of Staz and sorta Yuu also.
Yes I know he might just be a 'bit' edgy

Lorenzo is entirely original, as in he's not based off of any other character/historical figure. I based his name off of an old friend who I have lost contact with and his looks off of another friend, until eventually they became unique given scars, tattoos, and hairstyles. As trivia, Lorenzo is not currently the character I had in mind when I first created him. Character development has changed him thoroughly.

Trivia wise, Santiago is more interesting. @Kibaa

Ethlynn Vlasta arose from a conversation between @BittaBoBittoBa ,a few other people, and I when we were talking about how common magic is vs. how common it actually should be (I believe you said it like "everyone and their mother has magic" bitta). So I knew then that I wanted to make a character that didn't have magic, but simply acted like she did. Eventually, she evolved in the process of creating her application into a Claith woman that acted like she had magic through alchemy, coming to Regalia to actually try and learn magic. So far, she hasn't come across any mages.
She is hella gay and inspired by a textpost I saw on instagram a while ago about how someone tried to convince themselves they weren't gay by saying "only be gay at night", which is now Ethlynn's motto.
She's also partially inspired by art I bought a long time ago of a gypsy character, but I had to change the hair to fit into Claith culture so I couldn't use it anymore.

Syrum
1.
The name is one of those names that you keep using and you feel like it's a part of you... Or maybe it is a part of me? Who knows.
2. My dislike for vampires. I wouldn't say i hate them, but they do give me some paranoia, and if i had to choose beetween vampire and human.. I'd go Human. (Please don't feel offended vampire fans.)
3. If you know me in game, you may have noticed I eavsdrop... and because of that I gave Syrum some of the things I do... Eavsdropping, my nosiness, and the way i collect information.
Not all of it, but it's all i intend to share.

Arryn:
  • Who She Was Based Off Of
    • Lol I was just looking at the trailers for the Wonder Woman movie one day. And I thought, "Why not?" so I decided to base Arryn off of Wonder Woman or Diana.
@Wolf_Cobra

My namesake was originally based on Larten Crepsley, at least in design terms, but a couple of outfit changes, age and extensive restructuring of the lore over the years left him a very different man by his time of death. The only other distinct influence I could think of is the doctor from Predators who also favoured a combination of medical implements and toxins. Outside of that, he was your run of the mill obsessive mad scientist.

@Wolf_Cobra
Whereas Bryn was based off of my love for Acting. Olivia was born a few days after playing Assassin's Creed, then finalized after I watched Oliver Twist for th-- I actually don't know how many times I've watched that movie XD. Ria was based off how bad I feel, and what would happen if I was taken back in time to a medieval time period. Esta was made because me and @Zytus wanted to have some sort of rp fam. And my last char, Rena (Razor) was born when I read all of the (old) vamp lore. There, my chars in a nutshell :P

MORE CHARACTERS!
Borin is a stereotypical dwarf, a short stocky brute, loves alcohol. Mostly based off of Gimli
Orin I haven't played yet
Dorin was based off of Balin from LOTR
Fimbur is also based off of Balin and Durin, both from LOTR
I made Adam out of someone calling one of my char's "snowflakey", so I'm response I made the most obviously un-snowflake char possible
Salim was born out of an urge to make a Qadir soul Mage char. Kind of random. In fact, he was based off of the skin itself

Dahae's height is based of my height IRL. I like playing nice characters because it makes me feel nice and all happy in the inside. She actually exists because of my mother, she drew her and it just sprang up to life.

I was unhappy with her previous personality set, until I changed it. The best way to describe her in one word is: Altruism.
