• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

For those of you that have been on Massive for a decent amount of time, you may remember the Imperial War, one of the greatest world wars Massive has ever been in. For those of you who joined after the war, here are a few threads that will give you a moderate amount of information.

http://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/imperials-are-split-war-is-over.4468/

The war was a time of utter chaos and destruction, and it seemed for awhile that Massivecraft was going to be stuck in a cycle of endless killing. However, at the end the Imperials split in two and the entire thing died down rather quickly, soon to be relatively obscure. However, what would have happened if the war hadn't ended? What would have happened if the Imperials continued the war? Would factions that are alive currently have disbanded? Would the Imperials have conquered the world? Would Argonia still exist?

I led Zion at the time, and from what I remember we were preparing to fortify our base as much as possible and attempt to ride out the war in the safety of our mountain home, sending supplies and volunteers to allied factions when possible. If the war had continued, Zion would probably have been (ironically) active for a longer amount of time before going into a period of decline. War usually causes members to be more active, as long as it doesn't cause too much change to their daily life on Massive. It gives members a strong purpose and job to do whenever they come online. So, strangely, if the war hadn't ended Zion might still be in a mountain home, with either Imboring or Xander as leader, and around 40-60 members. Then again, the war might have completely wiped Zion off the map, depending on how secure we could have made the faction home. What do you guys think would have happened if the war had continued?

I remember I trolled the Imperials with their demands saying that I couldn't extend our settlement further than the mountain: So I extended the mountain. 8-)

I joined the server just after the war started I think but I was never involved in anything. I do love these "what if" questions as a junior historian!

Being a non prem of 100 power at the time, I didn't really fight in the war. Although, now that I've been thinking about it, I fought at Zion once, Argonia (I think it was, Hamcheese and Grailen were there.) I basically sat near the gate trying to be as menacing as one can be when wielding an iron sword, until they broke the gate and I ended up running for my life. I made it two houses. 8-)

This war as a whole ravaged 9thlegion pretty bad, as we pretty much got raided for 2+ hours a day. However, I personally would just use the (At the time) OP unarmed strength + Berserk to disarm all their stuff then run away with it.
Also Zanip and I had quite some fun steal all of Argonia's Darkrooms.

Good times. I used to have more fun on the server back then. I left Argonia as soon as the Imperial war ended, thinking the faction would either die down of inactivity, or people would leave the faction, and turns out I was right. The faction's sole purpose was to be Imperials, and not be Argonians (Which some people can argue are the same thing :P ) And Zion raids were just normal hourly activities >:).

I joined the server shortly before the Imperial war started and joined the faction of the person who introduced me to the server. Being the non-prem noob I was, I had no interaction with Imperials. Once it had started though, and seemed to gaining speed, I sat back in my little house keeping tabs on their progress and worrying if they would ever come to me. Had the war continued, I'd say some factions that exist today might not, and some that don't might have been created. The people behind Imperials might also be still active on the server. So all in all, a lot would be changed.

On the flip-side however, if the Imperial war had never happened, I would have never gained an interest in Pvp and probably never have started training.

I remember that time air had only my been on the server for around 2 months and had the pleasure of fighting off that Grixer guy as he attacked the faction I was in which was a sub alliance to the 9th legion well at least he didn't murder me to much and in the end showed me to Valyria and gave me diamonds :D

Just curious, do you guys think Osai would still be around if the Imperial War never ended?

At the rate *cough*OctoberGwen*cough*'s allies became disenchanted with her. Not in it's original state. It may have been handed down, but much would have changed.

I think in general the war is kindof blown out of proportion for novelty's sake. I was present at the supposed largest battlegrounds near the citadel of Eve, and the amount of participants were less than the Mag-Alamut war.

Good times in the Yukuro base. Building all sorts of monstrosities and weapons down in the pits.

If the Imperial war never ended then diamonds would be around 1 each by now at least. As well Roleplay would not have developed much, Viridian, Chron, and those factions would have been crushed before they started as its members either joined a side of the war, never would get really started on the server, or hidden away in a nublet town.

This is very true, however if you look at the amount of people that participated in the Wedding massacre, the battle for Roma, the battles at Argonia that day, and the fields of eve and compared the amount of those people vs the number of people that were on the server at that time, and especially the PVPers on the server at that time it was massive. Its sort of like saying how small the battle of Gettysburg was in comparison to the Somme. At the time Gettysburg was a absolutely massive battle even though it pales the size of the Somme, however, the increase in population of the world and the increase in soldiers fighting making it look minuscule.

I think I would have not for much cared, I was in Zion, but horrendously inactive, losing deadbolts twice. I think I would have been not a roleplayer, but a pvpnut in my time on massivecraft, having more inspiration to grind and kill.
Basically, just some more grinding.

You also need to factor in the smaller population of: Players, Premium Players, and Factions

If the war had continued into today I'd probably have learned how to pvp by now. Oh, and I'd be really good at making unbreachable bases.

True, however the Imperial War gave light to new laws of the land. Giant empires have all but disinigrated, and corrupt taxation is no longer legal.

Being a veteran of these Successive Wars my view is that if it had continued, many server policies would not have changed, the roleplay take-over would have been lessened and wars on a decent scale would have continued.

I don't know about anything that's happened in the last 5-6 months but at that time most things probably would have stayed the same if those wars had continued.
