• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

Often when you are raiding and just doing normal pvp arena or perhaps training your fists at the local darkroom it gets slightly annoying that you constantly have to throw what you are holding in order to punch properly and often that simple thing as picking up someones arrow can change weather you live or die.

But in a sense this feature could be usefull for all kinds of skill training aswell as building or terraforming.

I would like an option that items picked up will not fill your current tool slot, if it is empty, so you can still pick up loot from fallen enemies or allies, but it will keep your hands free. maybe if its possible a command to set a tool slot as fists, so nothing will ever fill my 1st item slot, unless manually placed there (or whichever slot I choose).

As much as I like that idea... the command already exists, to my knowledge anyway... /np toggles it, I think.

/np is a vanish no packet command, that will toggle weather or not you pick up items while invisible. so yes, it does work for normal players, but they can't turn invisible, so its effect is useless.

I just double checked. it doesn't work for me[DOUBLEPOST=1355874437][/DOUBLEPOST]

Exactly. that is why i'm suggesting for it to be made working for players. as an actually no-pickup toggle where you dont need to be invisible for it to work

Couldn't you always just hit "Q" or something? o,o

Funny stuff aside, I find myself liking this idea for no reason. Interesting...

Actually, in the next update (New Years Update) you can now Shift+Q to throw a stack <3

Still but this would sort of only make it better if we're talking PvP. if you're training herbalism on a giant sugarcane farm or terraforming the landscape but not wanting what drops it still gets annoying even if you can press Shift + Q

If there is a no pickup command, I would also like to see a clear dropped items command. As a Dwarf I often have to stop and clear my inventory of cobble \ dirt \ gravel etc, I try to do so every 5 min so there are not hundreds of items the server has to keep track of causing more lag.

There used to be a clear inventory command, but people tricked new players into clearing their inventory continuously to the point where it was made admin only.

As for nopickup, it can be discussed during the next meeting, but I remember cayorion saying he didn't want/think it was right to switch the permissions around for something that relies on vanish.

I like this idea. I get annoyed when making a flat spot to build that I constantly have to throw all of my dirt away from me. And half the time I accidentally puck it back up.
