• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

What follows is the story of Eternia and Luukerdam from my perspective. I did not play a key role in any of the events that occurred, but I did witness them, though sometimes through second hand stories. I have done nothing more than survive what happened and lived to tell the story. For me, that is enough.

Some of the events may have occurred in a different order than I will tell them. There were days of chaos and the order of things isn't so important as the events themselves. The individual names, other than one famous name will not be told here. If you know the names, you will know who I am talking about. If you don't know the names, then they aren't as important as the story itself.

Also, this is going to be long.

When I first arrived in this world, I headed out to Daendroc and quickly managed to build a nice hole in the ground to store my stuff. I found a trusty dog to follow me around and started myself a tiny little garden to stay fed. As you can imagine, this quickly got old. I realized that in order to advance myself, I would either need to start a factoin or join one and I lacked the funds and resources to start a faction, so I searched for a faction to join. One faction named Eternia caught my eye. It could simply have been the faction's name, similar to a place from stories told to me in my youth. It could have been desperation or boredom as well. In any event, I joined Eternia. I was initially hesitant to pay the 25 silver initiation fee, but as I said, I intended to join a faction, so I proceeded anyway. To this day, I have not regretted spending my last silver.

I was immediately given a plot of land and was given rights to build below the earth as well as above the earth. My first indication that something might be wrong was all the lava in my basement. The Mayor and the King helped me get that cleaned up and things were quiet for a couple weeks. I had a few jobs, building the outside wall of the faction, and cleaning up and generally sprucing up the faction shop, which I could not locate from spawn...I had to travel there via portal. My nearest neighbor was a vampire and I helped him setup a Chicken Farm, so he wouldn't feel the need to feed on me. I never felt the desire to walk in darkness, but if I ever did, he was always ready to assist.

Then the King disappeared on a religious retreat and one of our members went insane. It was bad. The Faction Home was covered in lava, many houses and buildings were torn in half, trees were left hanging in the air and all the animals and farms had been destroyed. It was an impressive act of insanity, but terrifying at the same time. This was a neighbor of mine, a trusted ally. Imagine what a hated enemy could do. Nobody was sure what we would do. After all, the King was missing and insane one had left the world. That was when the World Lord Luuk showed up and offered to take us on as members of Luukerdam.

This, as you can imagine, was accepted very quickly. Luuk was a Lord of the World, our faction had unlimited power, a great deal of territory and our faction members were more or less immune to PvP. Things were good for awhile. Then insanity struck my chosen faction again.

Luuk argued with the other World Lords and left the world after disbanding the faction. Many members left as well, never to be seen again. I was left in the wilderness, with all my supplies in my underground, but unprotected shelter. Fearing the night and day alike, I hid, occasionally leaving the relative safety of my underground shelter to sell items at spawn.

Then the Lords of the World crushed much of what was left of Luukerdam. Any weak building fell, and all the walls were smashed to the ground. Vines took over buildings and meteors smashed holes in the ground, opening the vampire's roads to the light for the first time since they were constructed. Even worse than this, I could no longer get any of my supplies! The area was a scenic ruins for the World Lord's amusement and I was not permitted to change or use anything in the area. Hearing my petition, one of the World Lords took pity on me and allowed me to become a caretaker of the ruins, watching over them and making sure the pigs were well fed.

Oh, did I forget to mention the pigs? They were Pigs of Prophecy. They predicted many things, including the Lords of the World crushing the area with Grabbity. Nobody listened, myself included, much to my own regret. Do not fret though, things worked out for the best in the end, as they often do.

Living in the ruins was much nicer than you would expect. Very few people came to raid, as most everything had been ruined, and the animals were fairly happy just wandering around the place. I was able to start making the money back I had spent originally joining Eternia by selling my goods to people at the World's Spawn and was even able to buy a shop in Prospera. Today I am a happy Faction Owner of a small, but industrious faction focusing on trade and hospitality.

That is my story. I hope you have, even if only a small bit, have enjoyed it.

I love how it's told from a roleplay perspective. That must've been hell and back.

Looking back, it was far more interesting than frightening. Having all my chests locked behind the ruins was the lowest moment, but even then, I trusted that things would probably work out for the best. After all, I wanted to have a shop and a faction and I only had 68 copper. A certain knowledge that things would work out for the best was pretty much all I had. :-)
