The New Year Tournament:

Hello dear readers! This year's New Year Tournament was a blast! Some close fights and some...not so close fights, but all still fun none-the-less.

This Year's tournament was put together with three separate Tourneys and consisted of 15 participants.

The female combatants being:

  • Maridenne Morgann
  • Humaira Reinard
  • Seraphina von Ebene
  • Selena Slumberwood
  • Sakara al-Ramoran

And the male combatants being:

  • Mustafa Bey
  • Abelhard Latimer
  • Ser Harald von Drachenburg
  • Lazarus Lupenzi
  • Aesger Velstad
  • Maximillian Black
  • Zelgius Pavise
  • William Arnyn
  • Ser Karp Kippings
  • Hel-Elvhii Eyllisinddar

The tournament consisted of three fights spanning over two consecutive days. The first day holding both the female and male fights, named respectively, Tourney of the Rose and Tourney of the Blade. Leaving the second day to solely hold Tourney of the Lance which will be a jousting style fight staying true to the Tourney's name.

The winnings for each of these Tourneys was as follows:

Tourney of the Rose: 2,500

Tourney of the Blade: 2,500

Tourney of the Lance: 5,000

The Champions of the Tournament in order are:

Tourney of the Rose: Selena Slumberwood, representing House Slumberwood.

Tourney of the Blade: Ser Harald von Drachenburg, Man-At-Arms of the Viridian Order.

Tourney of the Lance: Ser Karp Kippings, Holy Lance Paladin of the Villiers-Eclaire Order.

Vampire Abductions:

Be warned fellow Regalians and newcomers alike! There have been rumors of disappearances recently! Mostly originating from Old Town. From what my sources tell me, the culprit.... VAMPIRES!!!

Supposedly they have been leaving their safe haven of the sewers and lurking around Old Town. Then, when you least expect it… they've taken you.

This story serves as a warning to my good readers, if you wish to enter Old Town, always have somebody with you and don't travel alone with no way to defend yourself. Maybe a Sanguinology scholar could head over there and try and debunk these rumors. Stay safe my readers and remember, if you see anything suspicious, report it straight to the Violet Order.

Up and Coming Events:

There is a very fun event coming up for all of Regalia to enjoy... The Hidden Dragon Masquerade! I will be attending myself and I hope to see all of you beautiful readers there, now don't forget your masks!

Karp read over the paper and frowned some, looking over the contestant list before speaking "The writer didn't include the Tourney of the Lance contestants. What a shame. I also wonder, why not release the champion's names already? We've all competed." Karp ended his reading and set the paper down, collecting up a piece of parchment of his own and writing utensils

"Miss Cirilla,
I would first like to offer my applause for being the one to step up and deliver news to the good people of Regalia, though if you are to have press coverage on an event ensure there is full coverage and that things are not left out. I am the Champion of the Tourney of the Lance and the lack of listing of my honorable competitors that showed me a true and fair fight is insulting. As such, I have included a list of their names so your article may be adjusted to include them.

- Ser Karp Kippings, Holy Lance Paladin of the Villiers-Eclaire Order.
- Ser Harald von Drachenburg, Man-At-Arms of the Viridian Order.
- Hel-Elvhii Eyllisinddar, representing House Avalorn.

- Sakara al-Ramoran, representing House Ramoran.

Other than this lack of mention, I loved the paper.

Oratario Ode,
Ser Karp Kippings."

Ciri opens the letter, taking it out of it's envelope and gently unfolding it. She reads over it several times carefully, to make sure all the information sinks in before grabbing a piece of parchment and quill to write her response.

"Ser Karp,
Thank you for your honest feedback, I have taken note of it all and will act upon what you have said in the next issue of 'The Regalian Standard'. You mention you are the Champion of the Tourney of the Lance which I humbly congratulate you on, and I already know the Champion of the Blades was Ser Harald von Drachenburg. However the name of the Tourney of the Rose Champion still eludes me. Everybody I have encountered so far seems to lack this knowledge, so I kindly ask if you could divulge this to me for the good of the public and the Champion, as to that their great performance within the Tourney will not go unnoticed.

Kind Regards,
