• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

It is impossible to deny the fact that the continents of Aloria were densely populated with rich, inactive factions that are likely never going to play again. Therefore, I firmly believe that it is time to re-enable everything as the players that actually cared enough to get online, and get there factions back have already done so. The way I see it, MassiveCraft has been purged of the inactive, bulky factions that would take up too much space on the map, disallowing others to claim and simply enjoy their time at Massive. 'The Purge' has put MassiveCraft into a new state - one in which the worlds are now free, and with mean that there are many ungriefed villages that are there to explore, populate, and plunder. This means that the gameplay of MassiveCraft will once again become exciting, and means that there is so much more to explore.
However, this would require MassiveRestore to either be disabled, or for the restore time to be significantly increased. 1 month is too short in my opinion, as it means that land is constantly under threat and is highly-un realistic. The game would be more interesting with more placed to explore, and this is why I am finally taking action and saying that it is time for our permissions to be reintroduced.

Just because you were lucky enough to notice that the factions had crashed. Think of those innocent players who are on Christmas vacation. Think of those players who are just taking a break from Massivecraft. You may be impatient but those other people deserve a chance to claim.

I think that we should give 3 more days, then re-enable perms, at least within faction territory.

My inner viking wants to plunder too bro but if I listened to him all the time I'd be in jail.

I also don't want the fallout from this to include a server-wide mad dash for free loot. I think that'd be in poor taste and I would almost rather they just reset unclaimed from day one of unlocked perms 3 weeks from now. People need more time to have a chance to reclaim what is theirs regardless.

But hopefully perms within claimed areas will return to normal. Lucky to have schematica and mcedit to keep making build progress with.

Perhaps after a few more days... claiming can be disabled and the restrictions can be lifted inside faction territory. therefore the concern about looting yet-to-be-claimed bases isnt there because in wilderness land you have no build or chest perms and you cant claim.

Its a win-win

Doesn't the faction doom day sort of already take care of eliminating the inactive factions?

Any longer than 3 days and the majority of faction players will go mad. You guys can Roleplay. We have literally bugger all to do.

Excuse me. I haven't been able to get my faction reclaimed yet. Please be patient. Maybe come try roleplaying for a few days. I'll get you some drink tokens for the Hidden Dragon Night Club.

@Morbytogan @kniferharm @falconhand Thanks for the suggestion but be careful to not let parocialism and subjectivity sway your opinion on when it is a safe time to unlock.

As non-admins you can't possibly have any hope of discerning a safe time to 'flick-the-switch' so to speak. As a non-admin you are not aware of the percentage of faction leaders such as myself who are in different time zones. I have logged on, lodged a ticket and waited a number of times now since the incident but alas no admins were available.

Keep in mind that, for some time zones, the crash happened mid morning Monday. If you switch off block unlock in your suggested 3 day period you have effectively given the people in those times zones no weekend time to sort their situation (more os less). You are being hasty here. Please allow the admins to use the perspective they have gained to make a wise and informed decision, rather than a knee-jerk reaction... but thanks for the suggestion and being active on the forums nevertheless ;D

What I meant, was to disable claiming ( it is still enabled right now) and make it staff only, then give people perms within their own, confirmed to be theirs, land. That way, we can make progress, while still allowing those people who havent yet, to reclaim their factions.
