I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on leveling up my repair skill in a quick and efficient way?
MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.
Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.
Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.
Why looting III?Darkroom with a looting III sword in normal diamond armour.. Trash the useless stuff, keep the armour till your inv is full. Repair and salvage.
lootingIII gives better loot (or was it that better loot drops more frequently?)Why looting III?
And another tip, use your projectile protection armour. So you can get rid of that,
I know that. But how does that affect repair skill.lootingIII gives better loot (or was it that better loot drops more frequently?)
well, somethimes mobs drop armor/tools wich you can repair and iron wich u can use to repair

Looting increases the amount of common drops that you van obtain by 1 for each level of looting. You don't get a higher rate of armor drops with Looting 3 it increases the amount of drops you get for instance instead of 1 ender pearl you might get 4 pearls.

Looting doesn't increase the amount of rare drops you get however it does increase the likely of rare drops. Rare drops occur normally 2.5% of the time, each level of looting increases this by .5% for a maximum chance of 4% at Looting III. However, in Minecraft 1.8 the enchantment will increase the chance of rare drops by 1% for each level, making the maximum chance of rare drops 5.5%.
Also, adressing the main topic, diamond items are best to repair and give the most exp, I've found that using tree feller on jungle trees can be quite effective at wearing down an axe.
I'm a bit above 650ish, and still get a full level about 2/3 of the time, so diamond is the way to go, at least once you get past level 50. (You can't repair diamond before level 50.)Ah I see. I've never really noticed a difference with armor drops (I spend a lot of time in a darkroom) but that is a pretty small difference in rate of drop so makes sense why I didn't notice.
*edit*
And yes diamond armor is your best bet you'll get three levels with just one diamond in the earlier levels and I'm at over 220 and I still get at least a level with each diamond I use.
