Following the rejection of Regalia's demands, the first feudal levies, Thomas Kade was named Ducal commander of the Anglian forces from the Angle Isles, and sailed towards Medlem Talar with the intention of attacking Taure Tinechor, one of the more militarized locations in the Kingdom. Battle preparations proceeded as planned, roughly 4,300 Human levies, ranging from cavalry units to archers and footmen lined up on the hill towards Taure Tinechor. Next to them, chieftain Thrugg Borlak reinforced the battle with 500 Blood clan Orcs. Opposed, Elven commander Neylad Nefterin commanded the most Unquale dominated army counting roughly 2,000. The Elves mostly consisted of archers, having built barricades up the hill to Taure Tinechor, utilizing their more favorable position on the high hill.
As the battle started, Thomas Kade himself moved forward, flanked with his retinue of personal guards, Jared Silverhand, Tevic Uriomir, Draeden and Azarien Ulimar and finally Count Xalvador Pileran. While the Kade was forming the battle lines for the assault on the Elven front lines, the Orc chief lost control over his Orcs, who proceeded to charge the Elven line while ignoring their leaders' calls to retreat. Following their hasty move forward, Thomas decided to use the Orc rampage as a meat shield for his soldiers, hastily sending the battle lines forward as he spread his retinues on the flanks. Tevic and Draeden were to control the left flank, while Azarian and Xalvador were to control the right flank. Thomas and Jared would themselves lead the main line.
Utilizing the Orcs falling before them from archery fire as meat shields, the Human levies managed to avoid suffering too many losses before reaching the barricade. The fighting soon started from the barricade into the actual Elven settlement. Even though most of the Orcs were slain, and the Humans lost some of their advantage, they had quickly overcome the terrain advantage, now pushing the Elves back. Neylad Nefterin himself rode out with the Gwae Sul, Unquale elite horsemen on the right flank in an attempt to form a second front on the main line. Neylad's gamble was successful, the Anglian forces did not anticipate a cavalry charge so close to the town, and they came ill prepared, having no cavalry themselves or any weaponry useful to counter a charge. Straight on the front lines, Azarien Ulimar received the full weight of a horse to the chest as Neylad's personal steed crashed into him, knocking Azarian to the hard ground, hitting his head. Azarien was quickly dragged off by the soldiers near him following the charge, back to base camp and the healers. Azarien suffered a severe blow to the head, and a heavy concussion because of it. Count Xalvador Pileran attempted to hold the line together by rallying the troops around to give Azarien time to leave. This rally however caused the cavalry to turn around and charge once more, straight trough the soldiers. Xalvador was knocked over by horse and trampled into the ground, the only thing saving him from being crushed being the soft muddy ground and his platemail armor. While Xalvador was effectively fine, he was confined to his position in the mud, both being firmly pressed in, and surrounded by the corpses of his soldiers. The right flank had completely collapsed and the troops started routing, had it not been for Tevic Uriomir and Draeden Ulimar.
Thomas and Jared held the main line firmly in control, both of them being on the front line themselves leading their troops. Many soldiers fell around Thomas and Jared as they fought back to back into the streets of Taure Tinechor, but they were ultimately unaware of what was happening on the right flank. Draeden and Tevic however rerouted their left flank to guard the middle column, and took half their forces to the right flank. As if possessed by the Elven god of war themselves, Tevic and Draeden cut trough hordes of their Unquale cousins on the right flank, completely undoing the flanking manuever Neylad Nefterin had performed. Enraged by the "demonic drow", Neylad stepped off his horse and stormed the two retainers. Draeden took the soldiers and marched on, further cementing the recovery of the right flank as the levies who fled started falling back in line, while Tevic engaged in a personal duel with Neylad.
Neylad being a proud Talar, responded very quickly and decisively to Tevic's jesting and provocation, a quick decision that ultimately cost him his life. In his anger to strike down the Drow, and in the momentum, Tevic threw a splash of mud in Neylad's face while he charged him, followed with a swift thrust of his scimitar into Neylad's stomach. The Elven commander was promptly pierced and died almost immediately, Tevic discarding the commander to his side in the dirty mud.
Following the death of Neylad, Unquale horns rang trough the valley and all the Elves suddenly dropped their weapons and started running for their lives. In the moment of victory, the Humans started celebrating as the Elves fled in sheer terror. Jared and Thomas had meanwhile already reached the main fortification and raised the Regalian banner from it's highest point. The battle war over, but it was a fairly costly battle. The Elven side lost a total of 1100 soldiers, 400 managed to rejoin the other armies while the rest disappeared into the forests. The Humans lost nearly 1400 soldiers, owing largely to the collapse of the right lines. The Orcs were virtually wiped out, meaning the battle was a tactical victory, but a potential blow to further campaign movements. The Elves had inflicted nearly double the casualties before retreating, but on the other hand, also lost one of their most talented commanders. Azarien was treated for his wounds, but due to the nature of them, he would be unable to join the next battle Thomas was planning. Short of one of his retinue and preparing their next move, the Anglian army camped at Taure Tinechor. Xalvador Pileran was eventually found by Tevic lodged into the mud between corpses. Tevic helped Xalvador back to his feet, with the necessary jokes at the expense of Xalvador.
Taure Tinechor offered little in terms of looting. The place had already been stripped bare by the Unquale who left, and the rest of the citizens were the very people defending the place. The corpses of the fallen were promptly burned, while the Humans who died were buried on the hillside. Thomas renamed Taure Tinechor to Schlammburg, both a reference to it's muddy terrain, as well as a jest at the direction of Xalvador Pileran, who spent nearly half the battle and the aftermath trapped in mud.
