Hey so a while a go I came up with some race ideas and someone said I should do them up with the race format. I decided to do one that I really liked the idea of. If you want me to do one for my Cyclops Race the Tutors then please vote above. The idea is in the spoiler below
Scrivs
Scrivs are a bird like species that hail form the mountains of New Ceardia and are famous for being scribes, academics and scholars with their whole society revolving around the pursuit of knowledge. It is unknown where the Scrivs came from originally, even they don't know, and many have argued. The two main theories are that they are direct descendants of the Avarr species or that they descended from void possessed animals. Scrivs hid themselves away long ago in the North Mountains of New Ceardia when they saw the elves arriving. There they built monasteries and abbeys on the mountain tops with paths up and down the mountain to the fertile forests below. They named the land Bockol or place of refuge in there language. Here the Scrivs have lived in piece for many years, in solitude. In recent times the Scrivs have started to send pilgrims out into the world to study it and to see if it is worthy of their knowledge. The Scrivs have thus opened the doors of their libraries which are still firmly under guard to make sure that whoever looks at their knowledge does not misuse it. Some of the Scrivs have settled in Regalia and surround areas looking to further knowledge on society or other races and how they work offering their own knowledge in return.

Physical Characteristics
Despite the supposed frosty climate of Bockol, it is actually quite temperate protected my tall outling mountains from the cold. It is because of this that Scrivs still resemble various bird like creatures. All have developed a second pare of talons in their wings which work as hands and arms but mean that they have lost all ability to fly. Scrivs are covered with feathers, some Grals and Thars have developed feathers that act as silencers as they move. Scrivs all have hollow bones, which allows a falling Scriv to fall as much as ten storeys without coming to harm, if practiced a Scriv can use their arms to glide over a distance. Sadly the hollow bones mean that despite some Thars mucsles, they are not overly strong and are frail prone to broken bones.
Scriv males may have more flamboyant feathers, such as a gold lining on the wing, or brown spotted feather, this is to attract a mate. This is not to mean that this is all female Scrivs look for, for a female Scriv is more impressed by brain than feathers. A Scriv can live up to 85 years of age naturally, but usually lose a great deal of muscle and feathers as they age. Because of their war like nature, Thars do not usually live past age 60 if lucky. Scriv females will swell like pregnant for three months, then can lay up to three eggs that must be incubated for four more months. Scriv chicks are small and make squawk and chirping noises until they can talk. They often develop a fluffy down young which they lose in place of adult feather as they grow.
Mental Characteristics
Scrivs are a knowledgeable, this skills that can rival that of a centuries old elf scholar. They never tire of learning new skills or new things, in fact, many pilgrim Scrivs spend time indulging in trivia to bring back to their monasteries. However knowledgeable, Scriv chicks are still immature and lack wisdom, a chick may rival an Ailor in analysis at a young age, but will still wander off a cliff if not supervised. Gral's have the finest minds of their kind and spend most of it of theory, not delving into the practical. Thals are more into practice of combat, adventure stories, battle strategy and tactics whether in or outside. Nogs are more known for poetry and advance practical skills in farming, healing and cataloguing. Paniffs are the most creative of their kind, barely spending time in a library, or sitting still, they learn from their mistakes and the enviroment, and are great bards and artist, things even the greatest Gral cannot master.
History
Scrivs have the finest documented history in the world. Although there origins differ they can agree on this. Long ago they lived all throughout New Creadia, building libraries and learning in peace. Then came the first few elf explorers. Always curious the Scrivs welcomed them only to be bitten in the back. A few reckless elves stole from the libraries and used knowledge given to them against their hosts. The Scrivs gathered together all they could and fled into the mountains as the mass of elves arrived. After many weeks trudging through the cold mountains they came across a land of tall mountains with deep forested valleys. Their leader named it Bockol meaning place of knowledge. Here the Scrivs built their monasteries and abbeys and lived here for years to come.
Although detached from the outside world they were not without communication. Every so often a weary traveler would come and tell them all he knew before settling in to retire in Bockol. If no news came, then the Scrivs would send pilgrims out to collect knowledge and judge the world to see if they could return. Recently a pilgrim called Vawarel Hooc returned to his people and judged the world worthy allowing Scrivs to go freely out into the world.
Society
The Scriv society is very well governed, each Monastery and Abbey has a council with on Father Gral, one Master Thar and one Head Nog. They govern the actions of their home and all who live there as well as delivering punishment for crimes and all other duties.
Politics
Each Scriv Monastery has an overarching council with a representative for each sub race. They govern all who live there and around their home. Every five years the Father Gral will journey to Home Nest Monastery to the Grand Gral Meeting to give a report. If a dispute comes between two Abbeys and third Abbey will be asked to judge. If a terrible crime is committed over many regions, a representative of each Abbey involved must be present. The Paniffs have a simple chief system in their society and usually do not have squabbles with the other Scrivs as long as their territory is respected.
Culture
Scriv culture is a rather simple one, all Scrivs work towards achieving greater knowledge in the world. In the Spring time Scriv pilgrims journey between abbeys and monasteries to gather greater knowledge and sometimes to stay and spread genetic material. In the Summer the Thars have tournaments and Paniffs hold great performances and art galleries. In Autumn Nogs collect crops and prepare food winter. In the Winter the Grals spend great amounts of time in solidarity or meditation. Each season is marked with a feast.
There are not gender roles so much as race roles. Grals are the leaders and highest scholars, known to possess the deepest and darkest of secret knowledge and to govern their homes and teach the little ones and guide the older. Thars are fighters and protectors of their homes, they are often arrogant, but stand to fight any threat. Nogs are chefs and craftsmen who keep all fed and all in repair.
From the hatching of the egg all Scriv chicks are taught by Grals until they reach the appropriate age to stem off into the appreciate area of study. Gral chicks will go into deep study, Thars will learn combat, Nogs crafts and Paniff chicks are usually let wild to explore their own creativity.
Scrivs possess the forges but only the finest of Nogs can hope to match a dwarf. Scrivs only possess very basic technology, such as the pulley, or the cog, sometimes with the odd secret passage thrown in. Cuisine varies with races, all sub races enjoy the berries and seeds, but Grals and Thars eat rodents and sometimes fish, while Nogs and Paniffs stick to vegetables and fruits.
Paniffs are the most creative of the Scirvs, using paints and juices to mark art, or bits and bobs to make sculptures. Most Scriv chicks have their own games which the adults don't mind, but most Scrivs enjoy mind and board games. In terms of fashion Abbey dwellers were tunics, habits, robes, sashes and those of the like while Paniffs are more tribal with there clothes.
Religion
Scrivs believe in the Great Owl, who was said to be the first Avarr to touch the ground and learn. It is disputed whether the Great Owl was an Avarr or a void possessed creature however. They believe that when they die they journey home to the Far Sky, where he with the greatest knowledge shall speak with the Great Owl himself. The belief of the Great Owl is something all Scrivs share in belief, although the Paniffs do tend to make their effigies more brightly colored. They are skeptical of other religions, but are respectful, never wishing to offend another race.
Economy
Scrivs do not have much use for money, they are self-sustaining and have no need for sell and buying. Scriv pilgrims are known to carry "Sparkles" which are lose bits of gold or jewels to pay for food and places or rest when journeying. Paniffs are not known to sneeze at Sparkles as they gave them their name.
Combat and Warfare
Thars are the primary military of the Scriv race, although they are strictly a defensive force. Thars train for year in advance combat training with either a saber, bow, staff, spear or sling. They are great tacticians and have studied many theories on warfare and army placements and have practiced them thoroughly.
