• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

I've decided to make my least organized post with actual questions for people ever.

Long Time Players: How does premium now compare with the premium of the olden days? Is it a joke or taken seriously still? I remember fighting for people to keep donating at the time, but a lot of things changed since then.

Anyone who knows: Are 4alls still a thing? (I didn't actually look) and are 4alls still used? I remember that some staff said that the 4alls were more than replacing the income from prem donations... wonder if that still applies.

Roleplayers: How often does the lore change in Regalia now a days?
Does roleplay take place outside of regalia to the extent it use to?
Do factions still do nice little roleplay events?... (I remember building a whole island one time just to host an rp event... it was great)
This one I asked before and I'm curious to hear the new or same answers... why RP on massivecraft or minecraft in general?

PvPers: What's going on with you guys this time, and why is it more real this time if it even is more real?
Who remembers and loves aqua and can't go to kit PvP without remembering aqua. (I remembering going in with 1k unarmed back in the old days and grabbing free weapons... aqua was gambling glory)
What happened with traits? Does anyone miss races?
How's mcmmo going, are grinds still as popular?

Builders: What do you think of massive (I was never really one of you.)

Anyone who knows about lore: How do you think it compares to the old lore, is it fair to compare it?

Writers/Artists/Musicians/Forums Community members: What inspires you to do all of this for massive. This is by far my soup question as I'm actually considering trying to write for something or make up stories (idk, even trying to bait 419 scammers with characters sounds interesting...) As far as artists and musicians.... you're just cool. ~Fellow Musician

TL;DR : Try reading the actual post.
~Thanks for your time people. Answer questions I didn't ask too.

-Building on this server from my viewpoint has stayed relatively the same, if not declined slightly. Not as many uniform cookie cutter empires, but not as many small, beautifully designed and detailed towns either.
-Rp outside of regalia is little to none in my experience/opinion
-4Alls are still a thing
-Grind isn't as important as it used to be
-Old Prem>Orange name with /color

Prem is nice when I have spare regals to buy it. Plus pretty sure I'm still on the top 100 donors without spending a penny on massive, so gotta keep that up I guess.

Yeah 4alls already fucked the economy and made everything worthless and are still around for some reason.

Not really sure what you mean if it's more real.

Yeah aqua was cool. Always preferred siege tho tbh.

Nope, pretty much nobody misses traits.

Mcmmo grinding isn't really a huge deal anymore. My 3.6k or whatever axes are nice for having skullsplitter last like 80 seconds or something, but other than that it's whatever. Repair is more useful than swords or axes at this point imo.

I can claim partial blame for that. I planned to undo them into a non-pvp related gift4all system with random tier based loot last month, but after talking to Tech staff we concluded the players would respond negatively to me spending tech time on changing donation features instead of working on Factions coding.

Solid reasoning

  • If you mean big lore events like lore rewrites or wars maybe every three to six months. Small implants in lore like a new animal maybe every month or so.
  • If it does take place outside of Regalia it's not supported and often not lore complaint. I don't know of anyone who still tries so I'd say VERY rarely.
  • For MassiveCraft, it's their unique lore system and how everything is so strict. It's like the permanent super glue of roleplay. I probably only roleplay at all because I found Massivecraft while looking for Minecraft servers. So if you're asking why I play Minecraft at all the answer is: You can literally do anything. I choose to play on Massivecraft.

Do these ever actually come up in roleplay?
Well animals can be added to a backstory like the lurker said.
From time to time. One of the greatest examples is a new plant, Sleeping Beauty (@Faunfire @PosidonX7 ) which I've seen 6-7 people use already to a great degree.
EDIT: To add onto this, animals can be added to a character's backstory to... varying displays of quality. Plus the Dragged Crow is great.
This animal is a better example. https://wiki.massivecraft.com/Sucre_Cien It's like MassiveCraft's version of Gabe the Dog.

Anyone who knows about lore: How do you think it compares to the old lore, is it fair to compare it?
Oh dear god no. Previous lore had a very different feel to it, and was more loose. Now its a lot more scientific in some aspects, far more deep, far more varied, and also balanced a lot better. E.g. the vespid have lost all of their variability (the equivalent now is called the Circci) but are much better balanced and have an interesting and fleshed out back story, appearance and set of mental traits. Maiar are no longer water spirits, but highly adaptable fish people with an extremely quick evolutionary speed. Orcs are.. Pretty much unchanged. Agni have been scrapped completely, and replaced with the Dakkar. The similarities between the two are negligible, though. The rest of it has just been fleshed out more - more species of elves, more in depth shendar culture, etc.
Also, you may recognise a few nobles that are now revered or hated as important historical figures - Celine Anahera has a massive statue dedicated to her, Freya Lo came back to life and took over regalia for a while with her army of Deathlings, and the van Sherburnes.. Well. We don't really talk about them.

Oh dear god no. +more words
I'm glad to see the races more detailed now (but that does mean everything I use to know is now dead).
Also,
Does the more scientific understanding portion come into play in character or does it just help to establish guidelines for prior knowledge and character creation?

EDIT: Also thanks for all the answers so far peoples

Well by "scientific character portion" I'm assuming you mean physical characteristics? Well that definitely comes into play. An Allar's scales do regenerate faster than any other race's skin/scales/etc. And Slizzar do use their tales to squeeze their victims to death. If you really wanted to create a character I would read the entire wiki page of their race first. Then slowly read the rest of the wiki for better roleplay understanding.
