• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

Please Can This Be Addressed.

Good evening all,

Just a quick thread because new evidence has come to light on a case buried a few weeks/months ago.

My (ex-) faction Solarian had access to a storage somehow belonging to Addrion. According to the rules at that time, they were entitled to loot a percentage of the items but not excessively loot.

The videos I'm about to link show that while entering a storage belonging to Addrion, the players are being reserved about what items they take and the quantities. For example, if there were 2 yellow lore items, they took 1 and left one. The amount that was taken complied with the rules and was the "legit quantity".

But anyway, that situation is over and done with.

This thread is to bring something else to light. I would have made a staff complaint thread but I'm not sure how well it'd have been received. I've been told by someone I shall not name that the staff are already aware of what I am about to point out but haven't actioned it, and won't action it, for reasons unknown.

There are 2 items specifically found inside Addrions' personal storage. Not staff storage, personal storage.

As far as I'm aware this is all that is on the videos however there were a lot more in the chests unrecorded. Please note that the bow itself has 3 kills and is half-used. It's also probably worth noting that in the weapons chests, every single enchanted weapon had identical enchantments on and was in the exact same order. Sharpness, unbreaking, etc. Never in reverse.

These are clearly items that are inaccessible to regular players and an ex-staff should not have these items.

I enjoy playing on massivecraft and I admit I do not want to get banned for this post, I hope it doesn't come to that however after I was off the server for a few weeks due to personal reasons, I came back to realise that all of Raptum/Solarian's storages had been looted by staff to compensate Addrion the items that were taken; this includes my storage (and some items of mine in other Solarian members chests) despite having no part in the incident.

Please advise?

I feel this would've been better made in a player report that showing it out to the public. Just my two cents. This will just breed unnecessary comments.

Re-read my thread.

Why? At least this way they have the opportunity to face their accuser, and the public can see the sketchy things that they've done.

Sure, but at the same time I've been here long enough to know that a can of worms can be opened, and I know that despite everyone claiming to be civil, it will inevitably downgrade into something much worse.

What would I have done if I was in the position? Maybe I would just take all the items and destroy them. Maybe compile them into a vault storage and lock it up until other staff can investigate further. Maybe make a ticket and go from there. I wasn't there so I don't know how things went down.

I believe any non-massive player seeing this or the videos will be turned off from going on the server entirely, which could have been avoided by going through the proper channels. Having the name of the player who had these items also doesn't do it justice, as now the name indirectly reflects onto the server.

I see the benefit to have a discussion on this, but this was not the way to go about it. Sometimes it's better to keep things hush hush instead of just posting a thread that is damaging to the community (in my personal opinion).

I'm not going to comment anymore since I've said my peace. I would've made a report and have faith in the meritocracy to sort things out. If it didn't work, I'd speak to Direction staff directly. But jumping the gun just incites panic and a lack of faith in the staff and server. Which indirectly screws everyone over.

Throwback to when I found a bottle with knockback 1000000 and hit someone onto the opposite sde of the map while organizing a staffs storage.

To my knowledge the items referenced were all destroyed after their discovery and their presence in Addrion's storage was already discussed/handled. I am going to lock this thread as it should have been submitted as a player report and not tossed to the public. But yes, this has been handled. If any items are still found floating around the server please report them to staff so we can destroy them.

While this thread has already been closed, I will offer two cents here: You're right, if such a public case were to be brought to light this way it would immediately lead to the public dismissal of the staff members involved and an issued apology to the damaged parties (which in this case, there were luckily none).

The problem with publicizing it in this case is that we were already aware of the situation as was implied, and we have already done everything we reasonably could to destroy the items found. I myself was present at the cleanup period, including which we endeavored to talk to the people involved to get a clear picture of why those items existed. The problem there is that these items were all created by staff members who have not been with us for many months and in many cases don't even play on the server anymore. They date from a time when Game staff itself was under different leadership, there was a different working ethic, and between what was okay and what wasn't, we've found a reasonable explanation as to why those items existed and were considered safe at the time.

What the staff are left with (remember, we are all different departments that don't always know what is happening in other departments), is a sense of public embarassment that they feel they share no responsibility for. In essence, before this thread came up, those items were already destroyed. The faction in question can testify the lenght through which we went to chase after those items as I personally ventured into Solarian teamspeak to get to the bottom of it.

Compared to other servers. MassiveCraft has a much stricter code of conduct for staff members. While you will find rampant staff abuse on other servers, this is not the case on Massive since we have a vast bureaucratic meritocracy that ensures staff productivity, and we also encourage staff members to spy on each other with logs and to report misuse internally. That's great, but not perfect, and I think one such case in a few years is reasonable within the odds.

In summary: If it was an active case against an active staff, then yes, you're right. However, this situation is neither:
  • The items had been destroyed months ago
  • The screenshots were saved and shown to me at the time.
  • We resolved the matter both internally and externally.
  • We dealt with the people involved in whatever way we deemed necessary.
Essentially, OP should have been told already by the people who handed him the screenshots that we already resolved the matter, and he chose to publish it anyway. I'll leave it up to the readers to conclude what the motivations behind that could have been.
