• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

In the server reset massivemagic is going to be deleted! I personally see a lot of potential in it and I would hate for all the work that was put into it to be deleted. So assuming that massivemagic won't be saved elsewhere I propose it gets released to the public so that it can hopefully reach it's full potential. I just don't want such an awesome plugin to go to waste just because massive didn't have the man power to run it.

@Kaezir You are the only person on staff that I know had something to do with this plugin so I would love your input.

A lot of the issue as far as I am aware is that Cayorion owns the rights to all these plugins and still makes a profit from selling them to other servers and server owners, as they are his property. Doing something like this would be beyond what we can do as a company now. This is the way I understood it with most of the Massive based plugins, anyway.

I thought that when the ownership of the server moved Cayorion gave the new owners the plugins, at least I'm pretty sure that's what it said in the post.

Access is different from ownership. He gave our tech team access to the plugins so that they could make changes to them for the server but they do not have the rights to re-distribute or sell them to anyone else. Once again, this is what was in the scope of my understanding and I may have missed some details.

oh, well does that at least mean massivemagic won't disappear off the face of the earth?

This would honestly be up to @ulumulu1510 or @MonMarty - It would certainly be a shame to see it go. But. Unless they can make some cash off of it, I dunno if it'll happen.

That is disappointing, is there any chance of it coming back to the server after things settle down?

We don't own rights to the plugin, ulumulu does. Nobody knows what happened to ulumulu, he just stopped logging onto skype one day. We are not going to steal his code and publicize it against his wishes.

I'd rather it remained close source anyways to allow the possibility of adding it back if/when the server becomes popular enough/stable enough/profitable enough to warrant it.

It's been a while hasn't it, I really loved the magic plugin. Came to look into it a bit more, Still no word about ulumulu or magic coming back?
