• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

I know about three to four people who would love to play on this server. However, all of them seemed hesitant when they heard that vulgarity is allowed in Roleplay. I remembered playing on a different server where they had a chat filter that you can turn off and on so when people swear, you can read it if it's off, or not if your filter is on.

The only drawback that I'm aware of is that it takes away some of the authenticity from people who have the filter on. People who have the filter off, however, can still listen to their own character, or another character, swear.

Any one have any thoughts on this?

Ignoring the tech work that would go involved, I wouldn't see an issue with a filter that was optional.

At present since that will not be coming anything soon, you could ignore the players in question afaik. Swearing when done correctly adds strong emotions to dialogue. Using it willy nilly makes you come off as a dirtbag that nobody likes, which ultimately will kill the swearer's reputation in the short and long run.

Granted I'm in a rp scene where swearing isn't acceptable as proper dialogue (despite it still happening buy /shrug) but that's all I can say. I'm in favor of a filter for those who would want it, but I would have mine off because I don't care and probably knew most of the sailor's dictionary since I was 12.

Swearing isn't prolific enough in roleplay to warrant tech work.

people literally yell and scream Da F Word constantly... i think it may be necessary given the platform and age range of the server? i personally dont care but the amount of times people say it is notable, maybe not in your circle but in others yes
