THE MINISTER FOR THE OCCULT
4th of April, 310 AC

I. Ministry Expo
The next Ministry Expo will be held in the Noble District on the 12th of April, 310 AC at 5pm [[EST]].

II. Regarding Research Funding
Visit during office hours to apply for research funding. Come with a viable pitch, preferably in 20 words or fewer.

III. Regarding the Future of Consortiums
After some consideration, the Occult Ministry has made a decision to disband all current Arcane Consortiums. With the recent changes made in Occult Law and further Evaluations, it has been determined many Consortiums existed purely for the freedom of casting without fully committing to the expectations set out for them.

• None of the previous consortiums reached out regarding their Arcane Research.
  
• They had little to no involvement in Ministry held events such as previous Academic Forums or Expos.
  
• They do not require the Ministry's support for any research endeavors as the majority were funded by members of the peerage.

The Ministry thanks all past Consortiums for their initial contributions and emphasizes that individuals are still allowed to create groups dedicated to research of the Occult and non-mundane, but they will no longer be sanctioned by the Occult Ministry.

IV. Regarding the Future of Court Mages
The Occult Ministry believes that, as a whole, magic as a tool has seen much more widespread use in recent times. Public usage has seen an uptick as of late with stipulations still existing inappropriate usage. As such, the Occult Ministry does not believe that the Court Mage is relevant any longer. The peerage are capable of making informed hiring choices for their staff, regardless of their Occult status. All current Court Mages are thanked for their time and contributions. Their positions may remain at the discretion of the family head.


The Occult is supernatural, mystical, and magical; and encompasses supranatural beliefs, practices, or phenomena. The opposite is occultism understandably involves none of this.

Occult Common Law

• Using Occult Powers on someone without fully informed consent is illegal
  • Exceptions may be made for good samaritans during times of emergency.
• Using Occult Powers in public spaces is legal, however, this may be vetoed by the Metropolitan, members of the Peerage, or Government Officials.
  • Private homes and businesses may determine
• It is illegal to be infected with afflictions deemed Apostates.
  • It is illegal to transform another person into an apostate aberrant.
    
  • Sihndar and Manathar need permits to transform people.
• Vampirism and the spreading of the Vampiric Infection is illegal.
• Cahalism and the spreading of the Cahalic Infection is illegal.
• Broods are considered legal within the city proper unless they have an extensive criminal record and show no signs of remorse.
  • Legal status can be regained after a month of regular community service under the State Metropolitan or the Civics Ministry.

Occult High Law
Occult High Law follows the same process as State High Law.

• To be an apostate is illegal.
  • Undead are to be killed on sight with the exception of those declared Soul-Burdened by the Crown.
  • Vampires and Cahal are to be arrested and cured. Repeated capture and curing of the same Cahal will be met with escalating punishment from the State Metropolitan.
  • The Demonically Possessed are to be arrested and exorcized. If they are unable to be cleansed and returned to a sound state of mind, they are to be executed for the safety of the people.
  • Those who have been so warped by demonic essence that they no longer resemble any form of sentient race are to be executed.
  • Marken are to be permanently imprisoned by the State Metropolitan.

• Demon summoning may result in long-term prison sentences, extended community service, and forced labor, maiming, and in extreme cases, execution.
  • Those who have suffered from unwilling demonic interaction should report to the ministry immediately for examination and possible monetary compensation.

This declaration takes the full effect of State Law.

Addendum;

The previous notice had an error at the printing press. Occult Common Law 2 should state the following:

Using Occult Powers in public spaces is legal, however, this may be vetoed by the Metropolitan, members of the Peerage, or Government Officials.

• Private home and business owners may determine if they wish to permit Occult power use.
