• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

Hi, I like plants. But one of the flaws I see with the plant lore is that a lot of them aren't actually present in usual roleplay scenarios. Even when used, they're usually used as ingredients obtained off-screen instead. I would love to actually see the plants themselves, living and alive and full of life, on the scene, much like how Nenya grove plants are used. So my suggestion is to make a type of nature magic where one can utilize the plant's effect, but the plant itself has to be present.

For example: the Ruby Flower. Instead of picking the plant and crushing it or mixing it in a potion, this magic would allow a mage to extract a magical plant essence from a live flower, like a magical floating blob or something that they magically pull out of the flower. This essence blob would have the effects and abilities of the flower and the mage can use it however they want; apply it on injuries, swallow it, whatever. After extraction, the flower loses its powers for a while so the mage needs to find another plant to use.

And this would apply to all plants.
Fireweed, for example, can be magically extracted for a small fireball.
Essence of Lady's shine can counteract disease.
Essence of Magebane can hamper mages.
Essence of Modra root warms the body.
And so on... But the point is that the plant has to be alive and present in the situation!

There was a plugin I found ages ago where different plants had minor particles around them in the wild and when right clicked they showed their name. Honestly, something like that would be kind of awesome for regalia, maybe in the Herb Garden or Park when its done, where you can click the name of it in chat to open the wiki page or something maybe.

Would be a pain though.

I am interested in the concept of mages needing components for certain magics though especially, but eh.

i like the idea but resource gathering/management is tough because there are no complications when you say you have one ruby flower saved for special emergencies, or thirty million because you have an underground ruby business. also nobody really likes to RP healing and they prefer to just off-screen it too, which makes the healer niche less valuable because now CRP'ers are pretending they haven't been bloodied in the sewers.

also it sounds like magically extracting the plants, in your described (even if they're an idea) pattern seems rather redundant. why would a mage bother learning nature spells to magically heat up somebody, when they can just plaster modra's and achieve the same effect?

i'm a bigger fan of enforcing more maims on combat RP so that the players have to come to the healer folk, which'll make RP in itself. also quantifying how much any healer can have of any plant would be great though that is usually an individual thing. i think a healing organization that kept inventory would be amazing but you know you need hella people.

in a more summarized version;
-healers should have plentiful but limited number of plants so they aren't broken
-combat people need to play out their part in recovery
-nature magic is meh because it'd either do what the plant already does, or lean more towards magicamy which is its own thing
