• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

Before you get all worried, I don't mean events how the admins would randomly grief a poor faction without consent from the owner.
You need more, I don't know how to say this..., newsworthy (?) events.
It would be neat if, when you made the new desert world, and people started building factions and claiming land and stuff, then you would grief an area and say, it would open up into a gigantic sinkhole or something. And then you could put interesting things in that sinkhole. Things that would encourage a player to go exploring and give them the thrill of discovery.
There's nothing like that feeling where you dramatically crest a small hill, and in the distance, there's a huge mountain or a temple or something.

The only problem I have with this game is that there are no, say, brave party members venturing out across the land, looking to find a treasure or anything like that. That would make the game actually have a Medieval Fantasy feel, instead of just staying inside your faction walls the whole day.

There has to be gold at the end of the rainbow, instead of just a rainbow, where after you cross the thing and fight of monsters and stuff, you get just the end of the rainbow. Of course, there would have to be a plugin that would make players just take one or two of each thing in a certain chest or something like that.

Please respond to this idea.
Thanks.

Strange. Thanks for replying, though. (Even if it only was to tell me about the polls. :/ )[DOUBLEPOST=1357776680][/DOUBLEPOST]And I can't go back to the polling interface. (robber) Sabotage!

I object! That faction had no owner anymore and had been property of the server for months before that happend:P

Btw, when you said "farmland event" i thought you ment the acually event that was there.

Ah. Okay. That's not what the old faction owner apparently said though. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

(Is that event for this year, or the past? lol Probably past already.)

So what do you think about my actual idea?[DOUBLEPOST=1357779638][/DOUBLEPOST]Also to everyone else, I can't get back to the poll setup menu again to see if I did anything wrong. Sry. Just tell me your thoughts below.

Yea, be carefull when before you listen to rumors, they are often incorrect. :) Who are you refering to btw? The server have had the same owner all the time.

Yea, he was the leader. Before leaving the server for months, the faction disbanded and a server admin saved it, for future use. :)

Okay. So what do you think about my original idea?

These things happening you are talking about, would that be something randomly generated or events?

Okay. So what do you think about my original idea?

Farmlands was a bit of an experiment, since the alternative was just to delete all chests and let players grief it. I decided to include some sort of Roleplay background to it, and we might apply this to more dead and abandoned factions that have become server property to signal the ending period of the lifecycle of Ceardia.

As for Faradeen, I wanted to make a couple of sand sunken cities where cities would be buried in pure sand and then admins would sell location charts to hidden cities where factions can excavate the cities as archeologists with treasures inside.

Faradeen however as a project is currently in the freezer due to lack of manforce able to work on it.

So what happened to Wessexstock? I thought he was heading all world creation projects?

Back on topic, I do support this. What I am seeing is that you have say, a ruin. A user explores the ruin and finds in it a chest containing some diamonds and a book titled "The Deapfall Diamond Mines". This book contains instructions on how to find the mine, and at the end of this the player can find a vast underground mine with lots of diamond and other ores.

Or perhaps have a treasure map in a chest in a ruin. This chest would automatically have the map in it for every NEW player to open it (the same player opening it would result in an empty chest). The chest would be unbreakable, and the map would reveal the secret treasure buried there. The treasure chest would be unbreakable as well, and every new player to open it would be able to take out the treasure.

Naturally, there are ways exploit this and abuse this, but they are ideas.

Yeah. I meant something like that and what Mecharic said.

Wessex is not working on any worlds at the moment to my knowledge. The worlds in progress have other lead developers. Wessex have changed rutines IRL and have had less time for Massivecraft a while now.

So, admins. Are you going to try to implement this after Faradeen is complete?
