• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

Like I was thinking about how my character would talk after it came back from a maiar colony and I bumped into this problem. How would a hwlong accent sound? I made a qna but they said that because it isn't often typed it would be inapplicable due to that fact that we don't speak in roleplay but type. But, said person said to get creative with it and I tried.

So- quote from monmarty- "Maiar use a form of sonar communication that is only audible underwater. They sound like whale singing or dolphin screeching, but above water it sounds like scratching nails on a blackboard."

The wiki states:
"Maiar do, however, all speak the same language: one of high pitch noises that are inaudible above water called "Hlwon." Above water, it simply sounds like parched throat screeching, while underwater it sounds like ghostly bell tunes."

So Imma say that it likely sounds like this
So with this considered I thought, Well, maybe the vowel are just more high pitched. So maybe every e is stated as literally eeeee to create an affect of a higher pitched noise. Every a would possibly be followed by another e to possibly create an affect of ah-eee. I think this may work with all vowels to create a higher pitch sounding noise, this may work or it may not but I am going to find a solution, please discuss below.

So fingernails on a chalkboard is what their native speech would sound like. So if you wanted to get an accent, I'd say anything that sounds remotely high pitched should become extremely high pitched and broken, almost making common seem inaudible.

Ex: Hi might end up becoming "HIEIE<fingernails on blackboard>EIEI" Essentially there would be parts of a sentence that would become literal ear rape to whoever hears it.

That's how I imagine it. Personally I avoid typing accents, because then the English starts to become gibberish, and eventually all sophisticated speech is lost to broken fragments that few can read.

While I don't bring this out in RP, my character has a heavy Alt-Regalian accent. If I wanted to make that painfully known, I'd simply emote that his accent is extremely heavy. But I don't go that route because I assume Dietrich's fluency in both tongues makes him somewhat easier to understand than just somebody who only speaks Alt-Regalian, and recently started up Common. but I digress.

ok, so, just having a maiar speek this would probably create a lowd choking noise like eeeeeexcelent while a non-maiar would say something more like e'-xclent or just -xcl-nt because the e would become inaudible if that makes sense

Honestly, I wouldn't use accents bc it takes too long to type a sentence with them and stereotypes.

Maybe for a high e sound like in "E"lectrical. Or an I sound like in H"i". I picture only though pitchy sounds to be the ones that cause a maiar to have troubles speaking.

I'm mostly basing this off of my musician years, which is why I say squeaks and ear piercing noises come from higher pitch, as anyone who hears a beginner learn a flute or piccolo can attest to.

From my knowledge on what the accent would sound like, depending on the region that the maiar comes from, I feel like some letters would be non sounding such as saying 'Hello' it would be something similar to 'H'llo'. Kinda like dropping the e entirely. However from the sounds that maiar make I would think that it's some how similar to mekett's and there clicking and how they speak in X'ota. With that in mind I would think that they could make 'ch' sound more quickly while their 'e''s may be drawn out but instead of doing 'eee' add the 'a' at the end drawing it out like 'eea' but don't do this in words like 'hey' but only words where the e sound is more prominent in like 'eeaat' would be an example with what you could do. This is merely an opinion on the matter but I'm not one who writes accents often if not at all.

I agree with this. It sounds logical. Though, I don't believe that they would make more ticking noises as mekket do as often maiar don't make that type of noise but it all depends on where they are from. I feel as if full maiar would have the e present more often just in a high pitch or a scre or something like that while maiar who spend most time above water or non-maiar with the accent would just skip the e all together. eeexcreting information or 'xcreting information.

I think the mekket would just replace the t with ch. like instead of teddy bear it would sound more like tcheddy bear

also, if one spends a lot of time in the city, it only takes about a month to get rid of i think. I know it takes three months to get an accent but i would say it takes very little to get rid of it if you spend enough time in common-speaking lands...
