There are potentially many specific folk who are left hidden here in Regalian territory. Perhaps left forgotten in dark alleyways. Perhaps hiding underground. Though, let me provide another thought:

Perhaps they walk amongst us without nothing less than a mere whisper.

With the new developments of Kathar freedom, it is potent to keep the same open minds that were shown during these matters. These events had led to a spotlight on the increasingly obvious disregard for other potential races— but it also has brought to light that there is a way for everyone to feel like they are able to purely live authentically without the need of quiet, constant fear. Thanks to the advocacy of progressive groups, perhaps now we can look forward and start working towards more causes that have similar quandaries.

With this being said, one can hope that the kindness that was shown towards them could also be shared with perhaps a new cause with a controversial message:

Homunculi are people.

They bleed the same exact way as you. Feel the same exact thing as you. Who truly gets to decide the definition of "humanity"? Those of higher status? The people? The blessed Gods? One does not believe it can merely be boiled down to how somebody was made— a choice that is far beyond one's control.

What makes humanity but the way we treat one another?

Everyone deserves a chance to live a life that is worthy of the same dignity that they see others all but themselves receive.

To those in such a position: There are people who see you. Care for you. Do not let anyone take the very special slot of your humanity— and do not let anyone decide what that may look like for you. Because at the end of the day, only you can decide that for yourself. And that small act may be one of our only ways of rebelling against this discrimination. Hold onto that; as it may be our only weapon.

Signed,

A short response has been tagged onto one of the many noticeboards.

"To Peony,

Let's talk some time. Meet me at the Draconum Sanctuary under the city.

Mx. Ivara.

To see this statement, this plea, wrap itself in the cloak of Kathar equity is nothing short of insulting. The Kathar, for all their tumultuous past, endured centuries of scorn, hardship, prejudice, and are now standing up to claim the treatment they deserve. And now you dare to use their momentum as a pedestal to parade your pro-Homunculus sentiment?

That is shallow. That is opportunistic. That is disgraceful.

To invoke the suffering of a people, REAL PEOPLE, in order to sell your cause is not only cowardly, it is selfish. You exploit the recent momentum of Kathar equality, not to support them, but to quietly slide your own agenda into the conversation, hoping it goes unnoticed under the noise of protests and petitions.

Let's speak plainly: Homunculi are not people. They are creations, artificial shells devoid of soul, no more alive in the eyes of the Gods than the steel husks of automata. To bleed does not make one human. To feel does not make one's existence sacred. After all, animals bleed, they feel, yet they do not possess a soul. There is more to being than mimicry. There is spirit, there is will, there is the gods' divine breath. They possess none of that.

Rather than face that hard truth, you cling to sentiment. And in your desperation to make your golem-borne argument palatable, you hijack another movement to mask your faulty cause.

Glory to the Empire,

Ser Henrik Osmont,
Knight-Major of the Viridian Order
