• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

When parrying with two incredibly sharp swords. It almost feels as if the swords are magnetic. This feeling isn't strong.

Hard parries with the flat of the blade. Put incredible strain on the thumb. Especially with such things as axes. While a deflective parry may stop this force, sadly. With axes or heavy set weaponry this will likely damage the sword. Or break the defense work. In some rare case its even possible for the thumb to break. Against foes like orcs or something of that strength.

Hard parries simply hit the blade and stop the force of the attack. While this may be useful against things such as rapiers. Or lighter swords, when face to face with an axe or pole-arm. This will likely just damage the sword. Or in the case of the pole-arm the wielder can push forward and stab you in the gut. Hard parries usually arent suited for counter-strikes or 'sword riding' as I like to call it. Usually if you try counter-attacking with a hard parry. It'll leave you with open defense.

Deflective parries are used when the weapons tend to be of same size or length or if your opponent has a shorter blade. Deflective parries don't work with axes or anything of the sort unless it holds a long blade. Deflective parries usually operate in the way you'd expect. Rolling your blade up the other persons strike to attack them. This usually leave you open on other side. But on 1 v 1 this is the closest you can get to counter and defend at the same time. This type of parry gives more feedback from the sord and allows easier control of the blade.

Double bladed swords wont work. Period. You will either stab yourself, and even in the face of incredible skill the slowness wouldn't work. As it is a sword. But you treat it as an axe.

In a historical setting such as Aloria. Axes would be used by peasants wishing to defend themselves or lowly criminals. This is due to the work of actually making it is a lot easier. Combined with less metal. The sword was considered a 'Nobles' weapon in these times. Only being used by those who could afford it such as the guard or other government official groups or even the nobles themselves wishing to defend themselves.

An axe and sword have completely different weights. On opposite directions, on a sword the weight is usually toward the handle. Usually near the base of the blade while an axe is on the opposite side (Obviously) such. If you're character say, is good with a sword and tried to wield an axe they'd likely be quite bad. Vice versa of course.

If an axe handle is broken it can be easily fixed. However, if a sword is broken or damaged it takes considerable time to fix.

Please, if your character has a weapon. Make it a small dagger, axe. Or something a peasant would have really. Use common sense in what you would have. Also, I highly doubt anyone would have a sword unless stolen or given good reason to have one.

Swords are made to do slashing movements. They aren't not meant to break bone and if your sword does actually go to bone. It will be stuck. Axes however, are made dig into wood. Very hard dense natural things. Due to this if you tried to make a slashing movement with it. Well, it wouldn't work. As for bone cutting. Yes an axe could cut the bone if the person behind it had the strength. However a draw back to the axe is it requires an intense amount of stamina to use. Since its incredibly heavy and you're putting all your momentum into one strike. You can not parry with an axe mid swing. Or even at all really.

One hit kills are not possible. If in a life or death situation your body psychically stops the pain from reaching your nerves until you feel you're 'safe' after the battles ended usually. Then the wounds usually take you. One slash kills are possible if you decapitate the person (Which is incredibly hard.) Also. If the heart is pierced the person can still keep going for a few minutes until the circulated blood doesn't have any air left. Same thing with a crushed wind pipe or something of the sort. Unless the shock kills the person they can keep fighting for a short while. Don't mistake this for surviving. Your character will die moments later.

Finally, Footwork is key and try to use common sense when picking out a weapon for your character.

This thread was made to help the community and so if someone wants to post some information or fixes to the thread in my PM. (So it doesn't clutter the thread) I'll gladly make them.

One thing I'd very much like to see while I'm at it. Is a 'combat' Q&A with staff. Just a general area where people can ask questions about weapons. Situations, accessibility. Anything really.

Don't mind the grammar. x3
