Well it varies but I plan to build something each month. Note it is creative with use of mods listed below:
- Custom NPCs
- Roots
- Kal Stuff
- Grimoire of Gaia 3
- Twilight Forest
- World Painter (For Background World) Not a mod
All these mods will contribute to the build challenge and I may even use the maps built for things like RP worlds, YouTube or even upload them,
Who knows...!
Hello everyone, your friendly neighbourhood demon lord Devoruku here and today I'm here to start an large scale building project that I was challenged to do by CrescentDarkness. The building challenge is simple, every month I have to build landmarks and stuff from a fantasy map (shown below) and post them here, so I decided to ask the community to set themes and ideas while I build this world. Feel free to add comments and related stuff to the map or my builds to come as I will try to upload a build every other week!!

Idk much about the mods mentioned, but I will say: this does look like the beginnings to a large scale adventure map, although I have no real idea what one would do for a story.
However, you did ask for ideas for themes, so I've thought up of some things that I think would connect to some of the areas.
I basically have 3 major 'cultural' influence ideas looking at the map: Gothic Europe, Ancient Korea/Vietnam, and Egyptian/Middle Eastern. I kinda blame Dark Souls and Bloodborne influences, but whatever.
Pretty much anything on the 'Outskirts' of the map (Northern and Western Borders) Makes me think of traditional evil castles/fortress's in Europe. You can easily get a lot of inspiration for this from simple google searches, but I think a good starting point would be looking at something like the Dark Souls series, specifically 1 and 3: Nothing too fancy, but manages to get the message across of 'this place is ready for a fight.'
On the Eastern Border, with 'The Desert of Lost Empires' and pretty much anything directly south of it, I think it'd be nice to have a Egyptian influence there. You know, big ol pyramids with tricks and traps and stuff... Or more of a Greek/Rome style? A hybrid of the two? I mean, this is your build after all.
As for the central Island and the peninsula like area to the east of it, this is where I think you can do some things inspired by Ancient Oriental builds from the Hindu period. I think a good starting point would be Angkor Wat, or take a look at Lost Izalith from Dark Souls.
I'd also say some of the fortresses/places in the mountain area's to the north-east could go with a black-smithy, lava everywhere, old dwarf kingdom vibe. Y'know, Erebor like.
