• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

Introduction
Hey there folks! Cain here with a special report. Now that I'm getting back into the swing of things I figured why not do some writing to start things off. I'll start out writing a guide to combat, like scenarios and do's and don'ts just to help pass on information. Whether it's just common sense or might have required a bit of thinking. Now that that's out of the way let's dive on into it.

Lethal versus Non Lethal
So we've all been there, it's a rather common occurrence actually. Your character is with his friends at the tavern having drinks and hanging out when out of know where another character comes out and starts throwing shade and insults. After a few moments of heated diolouge that golden choice happens. Someone drew a sword. After a thirty minute fight the battle ends, with one/multiple people being carted off to a healer for treatment just to be out and about the next day. Pretty standard fight in Regalia.

However, should that be how it is? Think for one moment about how this would happen in real life. Situation: You staring down a man, for the past couple of minutes you've been cussing and throwing threats out at random. The causes' are over a relationship with a boyfriend/girlfriend. After a few moments something ticks inside you, fight or flight reflex's tingling. Now is it more appropriate to try and stick your opponent in the jaw with a left hook or should you reach into your pocket to pull out a knife? Or maybe go back to your car for a gun?

Now let's go back to our tavern fight. Swords, knives, spears, axes; all are the weapons of war at this time. Swords have killed people, maimed people, scarred people for life. So why would you use a sword in a bar fight? In effect, when your character draw's his weapon he's trying to cause more harm than a few bruises. Think realistically what would happen when you draw a knife, how that looks.

That's why I suggest using Non Lethal as a choice when going to fight that loudmouth on the street. Non Lethal is as it sounds, fighting without intent to kill or maim your opponent. Non Lethal is as simple as using your fists, or maybe picking up a stick or using Patent Pending World Famous Pocket Sand. Hitting someone is a more honest reaction than using your weapon in a fight or flight situation when it's just a street fight or a bar fight.

Just think as your character would, would he/she really want to try and kill this person/plant simply because they insulted them or caused some other social trigger to instigate a fight.
