• What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?

His backstory and skillset definitely.

• Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?

Well his name "Shen" was inspired by the peacock Shen from the Kung-Fu panda 2 I took my brother to for his birthday and was stoked by the personality, backstory, and abilities of the character.

• How did you choose their name?

For his last name I chose the name "Zhi" that means both wisdom, and ambition.

• In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?

Definitely his time in Hadar. The chrysant wars traumatized him, and a large part of his studies were als conducted in those lands prior to the wars.

• Is there any significance behind their hair color?

His hair color used to be black, but his constant affiliation with chemicals as well as age has turned it into a sort of sickly grey, and greasy texture.

• Is there any significance behind their eye color?

He is a chi'en-ji, so I chose his eye color from their spectrum, being yellow.

• Is there any significance behind their height?

I always thought it would be funny to have an incredibly short character, so with chi'en-ji came the small height as well.

• What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?

His desire to slow down on his life and try to reflect on things, rather than take part in it.

• Are they based off of you, in some way?

Not particularly.

• If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?

He would probably be attracted to peacefulness and knowledge, opposed to physical gender, race, and proportions.

• Did you know what the OC's sexuality would be at the time of their creation?

No, I thought I would let that part develop IC.

• What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?

Getting people to do it for me LOL

• How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?

I haven't written anything, or thought of him in any other universe than the canon Aloria.

• If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?

Be calm, Be respectful.

• What is something about your OC can make you laugh?

His perpetual uncomfort by being in the company of more than one female at a time.

• What is something about your OC can make you cry?

The lack of love he has felt through out most of his life.

• Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?

A period of time where I played him, he was basically a maniac and sociopath.. I soon came to dislike this persona for him, and try to avoid bringing it up the best I can.

• What is the most recent thing you've discovered about your OC?

His ability to be an actual delight to play. It feels good to be kind to people, opposed to noble roleplay, and other characters that are usually made to discriminate others to save face- while that can be fun roleplay too, I just like this for a change of pace.

• What is your favorite fact about your OC?

He secretly desires to be a tree.

   Backstory for sure.

   At the time of creating Einarr, I knew basically nothing about MassiveCraft roleplay, so most of his character was based around both aspects of myself as well as outside references.
   
   
3. How did you choose their name:
   Pulled up a list of Old Norse names, found one with roots I liked and used it.
   
   
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts:
   Definitely his heritage and the wars that came with it. Northerne inheritance is always chaotic, and I really played that up in Einarr's development.
   
   
5. Is there any significance behind their hair color:
   ICly, not anymore. Originally the family was meant to be Northerne with Ceardian ties, but eventually this was retconned purely for Northerne. The dark hair remains more as a nod to both the family and the character's origins.
   
   
6. Is there any significance behind their eye color:
   Same as above.
   
   
7. Is there any significance behind their height:
   Einarr's height was meant to convey him as a beast of a man, a pure warrior in spirit and body.
   
   
8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story:
   The family infighting is something I can relate to and imagine I will continue to relate to down the road, I feel that adding even a small thing that I can relate to in the character allows me to better convey them.
   
   
9. Are they based off of you, in some way:
   Of course, I build all of my characters off of various aspects of my own personality. Einarr embodies my tendency to leap before I look in regards to high stakes situations.
   
   
10. If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person:
    Nothing about the character was ever really tailored to be compatible to any other character, it was very much a matter of "If they fit, they fit."
    
    
11. Did you know what the OC's sexuality would be at the time of their creation:
    I did not, nor have I fully decided.
    
    
12. What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.):
    When writing stories based on Einarr, my biggest issue was always conveying the message in the way I wanted. I always have a clear vision when I begin writing content (based on any matter) but the issue is delivering it as I envisioned it.
    
    
13. How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all:
    Very far past, I've in fact written up pages upon pages of backstory not only for Einarr but also for the Norrvakts/Umberlyns.
    
    
14. If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be:
    He's headstrong but caring, reckless but determined.

    Most likely the relationship with his now ex-wife and technically bastard son.

    Pretty much anything from his backstory which has been made into multiple lore stories by both @Wumpatron & myself over the past few months.

I thought up Alvaro's backstory and appearance first. I was jotting down dozens of ideas for a crappy fishing town and was very into the Kingdom of Lusits lore after having read it and playing Portugal on civ 5 a lot.

EDIT: I just realised I answered this wrong. I didn't make Alvaro with any of this universes characters in mind but I did take inspiration from other characters. Seen below.
I did take inspiration from some real-world people as well as fictional characters, more personality and achievement-wise than appearance though. Most notably Lord Byron (Poet) and Captain Flint (Black Sails version).

Searching traditional Portuguese names, Alvaro's full name is actually 'Álvaro Qamar Macario de Santigo' Qamar was a taken name after a story that I'm yet to write.

Elements that affected Alvaro growing up and the way he developed growing up were mostly his adoptive father, sister, and environment. The environment was a poor fishing town that was almost like a haven for small pirate and smuggling crews.

None particularly, Alvaro is 6' which is fairly tall but I think being taller or bigger than people helps him process a sort of superiority complex that he often carries but doesn't display so openly.

Some aspects of Alvaro are, yes.

Alvaro is actually designed to be incompatible with the vast majority of love interests and typically results in either an abandonment on his part or him crashing and burning. This is a result of his 'Byronic Hero' weakness which was one of the founding aspects of his character and personality.

Trying to find a fitting design for his tattoos, they're something that I think a lot about in regards to Alvaro and tweak them all the time to try to get them right for his personality.

1. Backstory, I just wanted an appearing stupid character to progress and create it with IG actions. Though it was swiftly changed after one year of using them.
2. Nope, original as a piece of paper. Now, though. Probably Lee from the Walking Dead, trying to 'save' themselves from past crimes.
3. Started off with Natasha Stark, in homage to the female Tony Stark which then got changed to Taeneris, then to Celyreos.
4. Being disowned and unknowing to their past, raised in Ithania before being accepted back into the family after proving her worth.
5. No, I lack creativity.

8. Just wanted a change of pace on the server, something different.
9. Witty humor influenced by passive boredness. Got to make some sort of pun while you behead a Deathling though in her case, get staggeringly overrun then saved by people who don't actually kill the character-- I mean, all luck. The luckiest gal in the wild west.
10. Chilled OOC, Chilled IC. To be honest, she'd just go for the people she trusts the most; having no concept of love due to her former career.
11. Asexual because it just seems wrong and a bad reputation, to be honest. Only would do it if playing my own gender.
12. Rewriting the character about eighteen times to make it into a more developed. Helped me stick with the character, as it started out very plain and rather useless. Progressively structured it out over the past 6 months to have her past hidden, since she didn't encounter many scenarios which she could use them.
13. No clue, to be fair.
14. Discipline and Coordination, Natasha was supposedly someone raised in a heavily disciplined family by Mercenaries before she was reconsidered a Celyreos, contributing towards a Disciplined and Coordinated action set. This could be seen by how she will submit to her crimes if ever called out, taking her punishment without hesitation as her lifestyle beforehand left liars in a very poor state.
15. An alarming amount of luck with the character. Murphy's law flipped upside down, if you will.

17. Corruption in the Vigilant Shield influenced by losing a family member, showing she values family over brotherhood.
18. That her middle name was Ariana, I honestly forgot that until a few months back.

I made the character to try and use the new Character Application system, boldly applied for the Vigilant Shield and the character just kind of stuck; helping me progress my role play skill significantly. Something I doubt I would have had with my edgy characters, before. Vampire slaver orphans who murdered their parents. No clue why that seemed like a good concept at the time.

• What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
  • Name, actually. Originally, the character's name was 'Pamela'. It didn't fit the ideal character stereotype I wanted to fit into, so I spent easily an hour trying to sort out good names.
• Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?
  • Definitely. I had to consider a whole slew of other characters when making my OC, especially the elder sister, Lenora. Though it doesn't get brought up in RP a whole lot, there's actually a dynamic I wanted to include in Ania's backstory regarding her relationship with Lenora. Unfortunately, there's little chance or reason to bring this up.
• How did you choose their name?
  • When it came down to it, the good names I had found before just weren't cutting it. Ironically, I then thought of a past volleyball coach of mine: Anya, her name was. And yes, she was Russian. And yes, she was vicious. I went with the name Anya in dedication to her, and changed the 'y' to an 'i'.
• In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
  • The scheme regarding her distaste for a simple life, I think, played one of the bigger roles when it comes to talking about her backstory. Not only that, but the time and effort she put into becoming a graduated Skagger also hits quite a few important notes. It's all about this idea of self-preservation, and being able to set herself apart from most other women that really cuts her out from the rest, I think.
• Is there any significance behind their hair color?
  • Bar the need for her to be blonde, according to Santorski standards, not really.
• Is there any significance behind their eye color?
  • I made it especially clear when designing her that she has a very noticeable ice-like tone to her eyes--trying to go off of that whole 'not so nice looking' factor.
• Is there any significance behind their height?
  • I thought her original height of 5'9 was perfect. I didn't want some gigantic woman character stomping around, saying 'me strong', because I don't tend to like those sort of overpower'd characters. Due to a slight adjustment to height to the type of Northerner she is, I now have her at 5'10. I refuse to make her any taller.
• What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?
  • Wanting to be my own person, definitely. Independent, you could say. I often struggled, and still do sometimes, in making myself inherently different from the other girls in class, or my friends who were girls; and when I did, it was often from an introverted standpoint, rather than an extroverted, talented way. I did several things in my younger years to sort of broaden my skill range, even attended a Krav Maga class for a while just so I could not only be in better health, but in better shape and know how to defend myself. (I tend to dislike the 'helpless girl' type, if you couldn't figure that out already).
• Are they based off of you, in some way?
  • I would think so. Ania captures a lot of my more negative or blunt traits, which rarely appear unless I'm genuinely peeved off. She's also a lot of what I would like to be, given her strength and capability to stand for herself.
• If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?
  • Ania's LI--love interest, I think--fits with her, and she him, just on a very natural base. They're good together because, I believe, they both have their differences in comparison, but also have plenty of similarities that they can relate to each other with.
• Did you know what the OC's sexuality would be at the time of their creation?
  • I swore to God I would keep her straight since the very idea of her creation. Ironically, though, at one point I did in fact consider making her bisexual, if not entirely gay--there was a lot of banter, at the time, about her being a woman lover, and I was tempted to give into it.
• What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
  • Drawing her tends to be the toughest thing for me. She has a lot of sharper details to her face/head, and at one point she had super long, braided hair, so that also was a challenge. Now she has tattoos, so that's a new sort of difficulty. Capturing her usual resting 'bitch face' tends to also be tough for me, as well; even trying to capture her in a good mood in drawings is tough. Ania's just extremely tough for me to draw consistently.
• How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?
  • I haven't actually had the chance to fully write out more information beyond canon stuff. I would like to.
• If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
  • Ania is independent and strong, but she's also fully capable of being caring and even friendly/motherly.
• What is something about your OC can make you laugh?
  • The old days of the Vigilant Shield--the fun times had in the Charter.
• What is something about your OC can make you cry?
  • Failure or rejection in RP.
• Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?
  • I regret making her immediately rude/blunt at first. I think I do a better job of balancing that out with her now more-friendly-approach to people and situations.
• What is the most recent thing you've discovered about your OC?
  • Ania wants to better herself for her newfound family, but often struggles in developing fully. She doesn't want to fall into the background and be 'another Coen woman': subservient, weak, and seemingly useless. Her strength and combat prowess is important to her, as well as maintaining her own image.
• What is your favorite fact about your OC?
  • Her overall development, really: going from noble, to fallen, to noble again, then losing nobility, then gaining nobility again, losing it, then raising the family to a High Lordship, marrying into the Coens; and in between all of that, being able to participate in progressions and meet plenty of other characters.

What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?

I think that I grabbed an image from the internet first, which reflected vaguely the look and personality of the character that I wanted to create, and went from there.​

Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?

Christopher came about due to Travis' demise. I needed and wanted to create a character who would fit into the Black family as a viable new patriarch and title holder, but who would at the same time have some personality and appearance differences compared to Travis, to make the two characters unique.​

How did you choose their name?

The Black family was forced to take on Heartland Ceardian names upon their rise to nobility (given that the Alt-Regalian version of their name, Schwarz, meant bastard). Therefore, for the modern Blacks, I tend to stick to English-sounding names like Elizabeth, Christopher, Oliver, etc. although some German-sounding names can still be found in the family tree from time to time.​

In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?

I think the fact that Chris grew up privileged, in Dragenthal and surrounded by a naval-orientated family with privateering roots ancestrally is all quite crucial to his sense of self. He is a natural leader and one of the things that he excels at, I feel, is having original ideas and charisma. His wealth, influence and contacts give him the means to be able to convey and bring to fruition these ideas. He is extremely independent and quite stubborn, which is partly him genetically and partly a derivative of being born in Dragenthal. And he would be utterly lost without his ships.​

Is there any significance behind their hair color?

Yes. The Blacks are ancestrally Alt-Regalian, with Ceardian "bred in" through marriage. Most Blacks, like Elizabeth and Travis, retain the black hair colour. I specifically made Chris to have dirty, dark brown hair, to differentiate him from Travis and to highlight the Ceardian side of/influence on the family.​

Is there any significance behind their eye color?

Yes. Again, Black family members like Elizabeth and Travis have blue eyes. Chris' green eyes were specifically chosen to differentiate him from Travis and to highlight the "breeding in" of the Ceardian culture.​

Is there any significance behind their height?

Christopher is 6'2''. His body build is meant to be similar to that of a professional tennis player, e.g. Rodger Federer. He was designed to be a very hands-on sea captain/marine who would train off-duty and pick up a cutlass with his men. I played him as such in his earlier days when he was also in the Violet Order; however, the restrictions to combat that come with leadership roles have forced me to depart from this aspect of him currently, somewhat.​

What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?

I love the age of sail in real life and enjoy subjects like mathematics and cartography. I can be very stubborn and am pretty independent-minded like Chris. Admittedly, there is a lot of me in him.​

Are they based off of you, in some way?

Yes, see above.​

If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?

I think that Dianne and Christopher were somewhat fully formed characters before they became a pair. I think that is was their already formed personalities that drew them together and determined them to be a good match. Of course, they have grown further together as people since being a pair, e.g. by learning what each other's strengths and weaknesses are and helping each other out.​

Did you know what the OC's sexuality would be at the time of their creation?

Yes.​

What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?

I can't draw and so creating any art is difficult for me. That's why I have an image from the internet as a reference to Chris' style.​

How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?

Chris is very fleshed out in my mind. He has been my primary character for some years now and so I feel that I know him quite well.​

If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?

(1) Keep a clear head in the noble game. (2) Approach the Emperor; don't be a chicken.​

What is something about your OC can make you laugh?

His mischief.​

What is something about your OC can make you cry?

When he works really hard but is kicked down or hurt by others.​

Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?

No, because most mistakes can be corrected.​

What is the most recent thing you've discovered about your OC?

These probably relate to the two things above that I must keep in mind.​

What is your favorite fact about your OC?

He endures.​

• What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
  • Name. He wasn't originally supposed to be played. Came up with a personality, then built his backstory and appearance around that.
• Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?
  • I had a big group of people to think about, like Ushio Tokudame and Mae (Shiori's twin sister) though I tried to limit the pre-made relationships, even if the characters were family. It felt better that way.
• How did you choose their name?
  • Looked up some androgynous sounding names from Chinese/Japanese culture, and then bastardised it into Elven for the full Middle Elvish name.
• In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
  • Lots of religion. Shiori is very conflicted about how he sees religion and whether it's good for the world or not. There's also a lot of magical influence, specifically around Silven.
• Is there any significance behind their hair colour?
  • Nothing intentional, though he's supposed to look like his mother which he inherited the black hair from, so it works.
• Is there any significance behind their eye colour?
  • In comparison to his sister, there's a lot of context, though none on his own.
• Is there any significance behind their height?
  • Nothing but Elven genes.
• What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?
  • Probably the thematic pride that I've tried to display in the family. I've had issues with familial pride in real life, so translating it to roleplay is easy and a nice way of exposing the character to other characters.
• Are they based off of you, in some way?
  • It's impossible to avoid. Shiori definitely shares my sense of pragmatism and opinion on some of Aloria's devices, though I try not to let it influence him too much.
• If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?
  • Shiori was made without a love interest in mind, which lets me explore some awkward feelings in roleplay if it ever does happen. He's been confused before about romance, and I thought it was really fun to play out.
• Did you know what the OC's sexuality would be at the time of their creation?
  • No idea.
• What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
  • I think tweaking his personality from the original idea is going to be hard. I originally gave into the bad habit of thinking what was realistic for the character instead of what might be beneficial for my roleplay, so editing him from this point is going to be a little jarring for some people.
• If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
  • Sense of duty and morality. I think his opinion on things, what's worth fighting for and what isn't, what's worth helping and what isn't, really defines my roleplay.
• What is something about your OC can make you laugh?
  • The fact he can switch emotional masks at the snap of a finger and create some hilarious comedic situations. He enjoys toying with people, and I think confusing characters or making them think of something unconventional that never would have came up otherwise is an enjoyable way to roleplay.
• What is something about your OC can make you cry?
  • The relationship with his sister, without a doubt. It defines the theme of duality that I'm trying to portray, and I just can't help but have the feeling it'll turn out sad.
• Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?
  • I don't think I regret anything, since I've been able to use everything I've added or originally made. Maybe his original iteration, where he had magic, though I still enjoyed the short time I had with that version of the character.
• What is the most recent thing you've discovered about your OC?
  • That he's a loner, and everyone actually sees him as one. I've also found out a lot of people talk about him behind his back, which I think is a good sign, since it's prompting people to think in-depth about their characters opinion on the character.
• What is your favourite fact about your OC?
  • He can't help but have some kind of pet. No matter how many people he shoves away, he'll always have one or more pet. He thinks it keeps his reality in check, or something.

1. What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
   1. Backstory, mostly from the information that was provided to me by Billy when the character was a suggestion. Appearance was second but that changed as the character developed. Attitude and sentiments third and last the name.
2. Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?
   1. Yes, or at least tried. I have never been a younger sibling IRL so it took some thinking and practicing on how my OC would act. Along with attempting to figure out the sentiments and feeling to the rest of the character's she was related to. Which to love the most and which to dislike, mostly that came after some time and IC interactions.
3. How did you choose their name?
   1. Sort of picked it from a list. Saw now other family member had a name starting with the letter D and Dianne sounded the most loving.
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
   1. Mostly the childhood and start of teen years for me. Usually always think about how in a big family full of other kids and servant that a child can feel alone but still think of others before themselves. Mostly keep the 'family above all else' as a method of moving forward in my roleplay and work through any and all issue as best to keep that goal moving forward.
5. Is there any significance behind their hair color?
   1. Mostly to reflect her brother, that and genetics. Mostly from the back story as their father had brown hair.
6. Is there any significance behind their eye color?
   1. Mostly as a family traits. Dianne had a tint of lighter blue eyes than her siblings which to me showed her innocence.
7. Is there any significance behind their height?
   1. Dianne is the shortest from the main line Coens, mostly use it as her siblings looking down on her for multiple reasons, being younger, out ranking in political power. If she is taller than someone else, she will try to either look at them at eye level, or make it so she isn't taller.
8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?
   1. The lack of confidence. Never was a confident person and still am but displaying how even in the lack of confidence I can move forward here, it sort of helps me re-think myself over.
9. Are they based off of you, in some way?
   1. Definitely, I'm sure most of us have a bit of us in our character. In my cause, I get a bit emotional when I rp specific situations. Just depends.

    1. It would depend, when Dianne was created she was a single character. When Dianne met Chris, it had to develop and grow. First they didn't like each other, then it turned to something more. But love was never a start, it just happened after rp.

    1. I kept to her liking men, but if IC it developed then so be it. At the time, I just wanted to rp as I would.

    1. She can be witty and make her presence known. Mostly from all the intersection of being pushed around have made her rethink the way she makes 'political' interactions.

  • It was a funny story. I remember when @AntonVoron offered me Percy to play, and one of the first things said to me was that he was designed to be homosexual. The first thing ever considered was if to keep that in or not, which ultimately I did, obviously.

• Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?
  • Percy was always designed to mesh well with Anton way back when, and was much more of a tag-team with his brother.

• How did you choose their name?
  • It was a pre-made name. I could have changed it, but Percy/Percival had a nice ring to it.

• In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
  • His relationship with his father and brother always affected the character more than other bits. It carved him into the man he eventually became, ironically enough, horribly similar to his father.

• Is there any significance behind their hair color?
  • Most Ravenstads are ginger haired, and Percy was Anton's identical twin. So a no-brainer. I'm not sure if Anton had an original purpose behind making their hair ginger when the family was first made.

• Is there any significance behind their eye color?
  • Just how it was. Aesthetics probably.

• Is there any significance behind their height?
  • Anton and Percy were designed to be really tall, and for a while they were a bit unrealistically tall actually. There was no real significance to my knowledge.

• What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?
  • The difficult relationship with his father is similar with me.

• Are they based off of you, in some way?
  • Not exactly, no. Other than coincidence, I didn't base much of Percy off me. At our cores, we're pretty different people.

  • Percy changed sometimes for the betterment of his relationship with Cedric, as you know, and vice versa.

• Did you know what the OC's sexuality would be at the time of their creation?
  • Yes haha. I sort of discussed this in the first point, but yeah it was predetermined. I was pretty deep in the closet back then, so however I doubt if he hadn't already been homosexual before I picked him up, I wouldn't have made him that way.

• What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
  • I used to find it difficult to put Percy in "normal people situations". I saw Percy as a more story arc character, and when writing about him I would over-dramatize, or struggle to show him doing normal stuff.

• How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?
  • He's 42 so, and only played in Regalia for about 2 years give or take. So 40 years back is how far it goes in reverse. In terms of future, it's not relevant since I don't play him. I never thought about it much anyhow.

• If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
  • I used to have to remind myself of Percy's current goals. I'd often go into a roleplay scenario and halfway through realize that I'm doing something wrong and actually harming his goals without knowing. I also needed to tell myself over and over to set small goals for him, because I'd get demotivated halfway through a massive plotline and needed the encouragement to continue.

• What is something about your OC can make you laugh?
  • Some of things he would say was always funny to me. Weird insults or threats.

• What is something about your OC can make you cry?
  • I don't think I am capable of crying over any of my characters. Some things were saddening, but not really anything that affected me too much.

• Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?
  • I always regretted the marriage between him and Cedric. Not in a way that there was bad roleplay or I disliked the character, but only that it was more fun their relationship being a secret to keep, rather than something everyone knows about. Trying to keep the scandal under wraps was interesting for politics, and gave Percy a really fun to play weakness.

• What is the most recent thing you've discovered about your OC?
  • Well it's been a bit since I've played him, but around when I dropped him the most recent thing I found out was that I had no interest in playing him anymore.

• What is your favorite fact about your OC?
  • That he was named after Grand Revain Percival I as an insult, by his father. Percy's mother died in childbirth, giving birth to him after Anton. Charles blamed Percy for her death and never forgave him, and named him after one of the worst Grand Revains in Ravenstad history. Percival I was called "The Hunchback and Hapless", was known most infamously for being overweight, having a hunchback, and eating himself to death.

  • Karsten's relationship with his brother was the first thing that was considered, and it started actually as just a joke between myself and @Arendan.

  • Reynald Typhonus and Maximilian Typhonus played important roles in his design.

• How did you choose their name?
  • I originally chose Albert. I'm a big fan of George VI, and his first name is Albert. However Arendan and I decided Karsten had more of a ring to it, so Albert became his middle name.

• In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
  • The world's perception of Silvens, and the nobility's perception of bastards, played important roles in deciding how I wanted Karsten's outlook and personality to be.

• Is there any significance behind their hair color?
  • I've always wanted a character with black hair, so this was my excuse.

• Is there any significance behind their eye color?
  • Silvens have either gold or silver eyes. Gold looked better with black on his skin so I chose it over silver. It didn't matter too much.

  • I wanted Karsten to be shorter (5ft 9in), purely because it seemed an effective, passive weakness and deterrent to him, without getting in the way of roleplay at all. Also, it is very common for male characters to be quite tall, and I wanted him to stick out more.

  • Not much, actually. Karsten can actually be a bit difficult to play sometimes because I struggle to find common ground.

• Are they based off of you, in some way?
  • Not at all.

  • Well he's rather new so I haven't dabbled into writing about him a lot yet.

  • I have to tell myself a lot that Karsten isn't Percy. In the sense that Percy was mad 24/7, and was a universally grumpy character. Karsten is supposed to be charming, sarcastic, and jocular, with harsh mood swings and anger problems. I tend to roleplay him out angry more often than not, which is not how it's supposed to be.

• What is something about your OC can make you laugh?
  • Like Percy, the random insults he pulls out. Also just the situations he gets himself to can be quite funny.

• What is something about your OC can make you cry?
  • Same answer as Percy's.

• Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?
  • Perhaps his anger issues. I find it can make him difficult to roleplay with for people, and it's something I need to work on as I grow him as a character.

  • I've discovered recently that I've been blocking other people out of his storyline(s) by mistake. In my efforts to make him more antagonistic, he's become almost intolerable. (Seems to be a recurring theme here, huh?). So it's something I've found that needed fixing.

  • I always find a short laugh about how Reynald threw Karsten out of a first story window as children. Just a small fact in his backstory that gives me a giggle.

1. What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?: His name - which I changed. His name was gonna be Stilicho initially, as he was to be half tribal, half Imperial. Stilicho IRL was a half Roman, half Vandal general who is often seen as the last man who was able to keep the barbarians out. Krupp came with it, because as they say; "Krupp guns united Germany."
2. Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind? With Stilicho in mind of course, but I also payed attention to have the character be physically minded in fun ways. Even though he takes fitness super seriously, he expresses it through dancing and some anxious ticks. He has a few similarities in his very boisterous to a character I had played briefly before, because I loved the high energy character.
3. How did you choose their name? I wanted a Roman first name, and ironically I came upon a figure called Viriathus. I admired his folk hero status and military successes against the Romans, and thought it was a worthy alternative to name my character after. Removing the second I from Viriathus, I got Virathus, and the rest is history.
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts? Definitely the region he hails from, and his half tribal nature. Almost immediately after I joined, the north rebelled and it turned out my position was perfect to involve myself quickly in the arc in Drixagh - the rest largely speak for itself!
5. Is there any significance behind their hair color? Yes, it was meant to be disappointing in his home town, as red hair is a symbol of barbarism. Even though it's a recessive gene, Virathus has his mother's hair and eyes, whereas his brother doesn't. It was supposed to reinforce the fact he was not naturally supposed to fit in, and drive him to be a more social character by virtue of anxiety and disregard.
6. Is there any significance behind their eye color? It was mostly because of the rarity of green eyes, and it suits the red hair in an ooc sense.
7. Is there any significance behind their height? He is supposed to be a bit taller than his contemporaries by virtue of his tall mother. Standing at 6'1, he is a pretty tall fellow.
8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story? Some of the values, but mostly the dancing and friendly personality.
9. Are they based off of you, in some way? This character is only based off me in the ways that I think are socially fun - drinking and dancing, etc, just for the sake of making more casual rp fun.
10. If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person? Meant to be more of a boisterous and vigorous character, he doesn't have a particular LI. It is likely that someone who is a good homebody will settle Virathus though, as at some point I would like to progress him as a more reliable character.

14. If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be? That he is ambitious and wants to make his mark, and that he is actively trying to prove himself as competent and wise to his contemporaries between his fun loving antics.
15. What is something about your OC can make you laugh? His condescension of people he dislikes and drunken acts.
16. What is something about your OC can make you cry? The depth of his inferiority complex.
17. Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story? Not currently, I like flaws and such to make themselves apparent through progression anyhow.
18. What is the most recent thing you've discovered about your OC? His manners as very loose, and he is far more fun loving than even some commoners. I feel it's almost barbaric - he goes to a tavern and wants to hear music, he wants to dance. He drinks a fair bit like anyone else, but he is always pressing to do something that is not usually people's go to casual RP instance.
19. What is your favorite fact about your OC? Either that his family reveres a man for letting the heir die trying to ascend a mountain to take his throne, or that all the controversial acts he committed with the Bastion now earn him the respect of those he may have inadvertently acted against. People respect my character as principled, and it's relieving to see what I've done not be perceived as an OOC slight.

• What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
  • Her personality. I have always wanted to play an obnoxiously spoiled and manipulative primadonna with internal struggles that prompts her despicable behaviour. I felt that Celia's position in society could really embrace that personality to the fullest.
• Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?
  • I thought a lot about Vivienne Ravenstad and Yvette Red when writing down Celia's personality. The secrecy of Mrs. Red and the sharp tongue of Vivenne were two major factors that somewhat drew out Celia's characteristics and behavior. Though the most dominant influence that shaped the character was the album "Electra Heart" by Marina and the Diamonds. Songs like 'Primadonna' and 'Teen Idle' were the most prominent of them all. In many ways, Celia and Electra Heart are awfully similar.
• How did you choose their name?
  • The name Celia was preset by House Coen, but I turned her full name into Celianna when Celia is just the most prominent nickname that mainly her friends and family use. It adds as somewhat of an unnecessary poise to her name, which fits brilliantly with Celia's character.
• In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
  • Her heritage, being born in the lap of luxury and all that.
• Is there any significance behind their hair color?
  • Celia's hair color is just a tinge darker than the regular Coen's because of her mother's black hair.

  • Both parents have blue eyes, hence why hers are identical to theirs.

  • Celia is always 3 inches taller than her normal height because of the heels she always wears.

  • Celia had a lot of people who she considered as a friend feign their empathy and interest towards her during the time she lived in Galloway. Her 'friends' were somewhat of a phantom and typically used her as a final resort. I can somewhat relate to that in a way.

  • Noooooo.
• If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?
  • Celia often tries to impress any love interests and somewhat puts up a deceiving personality to gain interest in things that she couldn't give a damn about in reality. I assume it'll often be the underlying reason why Celia will likely struggle with her love life.
• Did you know what the OC's sexuality would be at the time of their creation?
  • I've stepped into the experience as Celia being played as straight, but with recent encounters and things considered I'm not really sure anymore.
• What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
  • Her clothing, definitely. There are so many factors that I keep in mind when making her skin that often makes me frequently scrap finished projects that could look totally fine for another character. I believe that clothing is one way to silently express your character to the other and I really want her dresses to show that -- Which makes skinning an absolute pain if you want what perfectly fits.

  • Celia hasn't really participated in any of the major canon events yet.
• If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
  • Celia is iconoclastic and a primadonna. She somewhat has a loose tongue that makes her brutally honest to nearly everyone -- Which is I think the most prominent characteristic that makes Celia have such a despicable personality. She's also very proud and has an inflated view of her own importance and achievements, making her a primadonna that looks at anyone beneath her station with a gaze of disdain.
• What is something about your OC can make you laugh?
  • Her brutal honesty.

  • Her internal struggles.

1. What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
   Profession. I knew he was to be a Ranger, initially modeled after Drizzt Do'Urden. The two scimitars, the vague elven heritage, the chaotic good alignment. That came first and was a core concept to his few first years. Keep in mind, this is like a 5-year-old OC.
2. Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?
   Drizzt was Forgotten Realms, and I initially built him as coming from said universe, as the "Planes of Existance" was a good all purpose way to excuse what become our "Alorian Universe". As time went on this changed, but initially, he was D&D bred.
3. How did you choose their name?
   I spent literal days on elven naming websites trying to find a name I liked, and a name from a D&D character known as "Alustriel Silverhand". Took the lastname.
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
   @MonMarty and I developed it as we started roleplaying on Massive. I billed him as a Moon Elf from D&D to start, and he changed it to Ice Elf, creating the race as Alexander Kade and he talked. This was back when we could waltz by a big tree someone built and be like "Ahh this is clearly a Nenyarina Tree, let me recount it's history to you my elven guard" and on it went. So with him, we came up with it as went.
5. Is there any significance behind their hair color?
   YOU BETCHA. Actually, he was meant to be the son of Alustriel Silverhand from the aforementioned D&D universe, and she was known for her unnatural silver hair. I brought that over, and it was used to model the Isldar since. The current black hair symbolizes his adoption into the Kade Family.
6. Is there any significance behind their eye color?
   Totes. Blue eyes were just a fun, weird thing to me when I created him, and I wanted to give him said eyes just for how beautiful I thought they were. Shaped up into Lore quite nicely.
7. Is there any significance behind their height?
   Always wanted him to be on the short side of Isldar, given he was thrown out of his Hold and I didn't want him to be strong enough to be like, a slave-fighter.
8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?
   I grew up with this OC. Silverhand was a brute ranger with little skill in speaking of writing. Not to say I've grown into a really good writer of anything stupid like that, but I do feel like I've grown as the character has grown. He'll always have somewhere else to go of course, and that can only stop with his eventual death.
9. Are they based off of you, in some way?
   Beyond the name, sort of. His build, being somewhere between lanky and toned, is based off of me. I liked to identify with the build of my oc as much as the name. Beyond his growth as mentioned above, I think the stubborn, gruff side of the elf is the most "me" that shows.
10. If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?
    Nope. Funnily enough, though, the closest friend he's got is Selwynn @Shayin , and I have found the character will be more "good" and less "kill the common folk to save ourselves" when around him. Selwynn brings him down to earth, in a lot of ways.
11. Did you know what the OC's sexuality would be at the time of their creation?
    Nope, and still don't. He's never been with anyone.
12. What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
    Getting his voice right. I know the accent can be dumb, but it's an honest attempt to get a feel for what they, an elf who is also gruff like a dwarf, would actually sound like. To me, getting that tone and personality to be consistent, via roleplaying, story writing, etc, is hard. I hate when it fluctuates. Bad habit.

    Not at all. Most recent thing he did was drink at the tavern yesterday.

    His self-serving fighting style and choices, and his tendency for sarcastic remarks.

    Those goddamn gauntlets of speed.

    That in the back of his mind, after so many of his friends have left or died, that he is somewhat looking forward to dying. He wants an end so he can rest, because the weight of seeing friends come and go, and the uncertainty of it all meaning anything , makes him more afraid than any monster could.

    His obsession to kill the Archdemon personally. It was an edgy, pointless subplot that did nothing for his growth, or anyone else. Pure selfish glory rp.

    He's lonely. He was asked somewhat recently in rp about what true friends he had, and realized almost all of them were dead or gone. Whether it be through romantic companionship, or just opening himself up to more friends, he lacks any sort of intimacy with another. I think I may have finally found a goal that doesn't have to do with demons or sword-fighting or politics; he wants to be loved.

Originally I intended to send an application to join Typhonus, but that family was shelved after Andrieu's little playtime. Due to the lack of any other Alt-regalian families in RP, I decided to fill the gap with a different family, set in a different area of the Archipelago so it wasn't a complete carbon copy.
How did you choose their name?

In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
The Chrysant War. Essentially it was the one event that made Dietrich do his military training. Back then he was designed to be a Fleet Adjutant, but now he has swapped to a Field Commander. I kinda half-assed the character design in the beginning, knowing full well he would be edited in the future.

Nope, Typical Alt-Regalian black

lolnope. I don't do relationship RP for a reason. Especially ones that re just written in. Plus Dietrich's relationship with his wife has nothing to do with love, and having any show of affection would be character breaking.

Yup. Playing a heterosexual conservative is easiest for me to do.
What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
Given I only have one art piece of Dietrich, it's probably my lack of care to have art of him. I don't have any image of him in my mind besides the MC skin I use. And even then, 8x8 pixels doesn't give a lot of detail.
How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?
I've only made a few futures with Dietrich, since I'd rather his fate just come in RP. One future is Eldrich killing him in some father/son battle of ideals, another is him dying in battle. I think I've considered him just one day just dying from some common accident like falling down the steps. The last future is him just being an old man sitting at his estate holding a title while having Eldrich regent over everything, being too stubborn to give it up.
If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
He's not a young man, and he's very tied down to his beliefs.
What is something about your OC can make you laugh?
That despite being somewhat distant to everyone, Dietrich still makes the rare joke or shares a drink with someone in a military camp.
What is something about your OC can make you cry?
That he's literally dead on the inside after spending a childhood watching the Drachenwald Crisis and then years on battlefields watching everyone die around him.
Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?
Making him an Adjutant. It never had any application and I preferred having a more armored warrior than someone without a cutlass. Making him a Field commander has been beneficial.

That he kinda sucks at things he wasn't raised to do. Or making some poor choices when in the heat of the moment.

Probably the name. I loved the name Tristan and I decided that his parents were killed by Undead.

Essentially. I did have to create some family members with the help of Doc.

How did you choose their name?
Tristan was chosen because I was a fan of Code Geass, the anime. One of the few that I enjoy. Gino, one of the Knight's pilots the Knightmare Tristan. The last name Lampero was originally Lamperouge. No, I did not choose that. My friend did, as he was the original creator of the family. Eventually, to avoid copyright stuff, I changed it to Lampero.

Admittedly, I don't know how to answer this question. When Tristan was first created, he lived a pretty good life. He had a supportive family and he was a decent guy overall. Loyalty was a big theme, as he was loyal to his family and to those who deserved his loyalty. Eventually, things fell apart, of course, and Tristan changed from an honorable dude to a guy who ultimately had no idea who he was.

Is there any significance behind their hair color?
Blonde is a great hair color. I originally chose it because I'm dirty-blonde irl but it was somewhat weird as the rest of his family had dark brown or black hair. So, eventually, a year or so down the road, it made sense to make him a bastard of house Lampero.

Is there any significance behind their eye color?
It has changed over the years. Originally, it was blue-grey. Then when it made sense to make Marty's character Ott into Tristan's father, it turned to Silver. Then lore changes happened and it turned to gold. Then when Tristan's eyes were acidified due to being a Silven (EVEN THOUGH ALL THE SILVENS HAD THEIR EYE COLORS TAKEN AWAY BY A MAGIC MACHINE), they turned Greyish. Eventually, he was possessed and his eyes turned red. Due to him possessing a metric crap ton of magic, his eyes healed back to their normal color, which was grey-blue considering the Silven colors had been removed via magic machine. 7 or 8 months later, after the possession, Tristan's eyes turned back to gold via magic machine. Sorry. A lot. I blame Marty.

Is there any significance behind their height?
Not really. I'm in a wheelchair irl so I enjoy playing a tall character because escapism. However, it makes sense for him to be tall since he's an Imperial Guard and of Northerne heritage.

What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?
Honestly, not really much. Maybe the absence of a father figure, but that's about it.

Are they based off of you, in some way?
No. Tristan's completely different than I am. I like to think that I'm easy to get along with if you take the time to know me beyond just the character I play. Tristan's kind of a... Well, you get it.

Art is easy to get, thanks to Marty. The only thing I have difficulty with is writing and that's only because I don't want it to be too edgy. Tristan's a somewhat dark character here and there but I try to lighten him up with humor.

How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?
None at all. I usually worry about the present.

If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
Tristan is first and foremost absolutely loyal to his Emperor, considering he's an Imperial Guard. The second would be that I detest combat rp. People might think that I jump at every opportunity to be 'overpowered' and to beat up other characters but it's quite untrue. I would much rather just watch rp take place in front of me and to partake in the character arc that I have going for Tristan with a small group. Making Tristan beat up people isn't something I enjoy unless it's a friend of mine playing that character.

What is something about your OC can make you laugh?
His never-ending streak of failures.

His relationship with those he is close to. Like, really, really close friends.

Selwynn Crassian

1. What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
Selwynn came about as a sprout off of my Skyrim OP elf archer character build, with utility magic. I fondly remember a "luck spell" which was basically an active effect as seen in Morrowind.

2. Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?
Not really. Selwynn was pretty original and stand-alone until I got out of factions and into Roleplay in Regalia.

3. How did you choose their name?
Shayin was a named I pulled out of my ass when I made my first Morrowind character, which I've used as an online username since 2007. Crassan was a tack-on when I ported the idea of a nature Elf into Massivecraft. It turned to Selwynn Crassian when Cedric Kade forced the character to adopt a human name as opposed to an "Elven one." Now, his full name is a jumbled mess, while he mostly goes by Selwynn.

4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
The idea behind Selwynn was always that he was one of the few Elves that turned away from a life of luxury and decadence in favor of a simpler, self-cultivating life of travel. The decadence of the Altalar has always played a contrasting role with his personality.

5. Is there any significance behind their hair color?
Legolas.

6. Is there any significance behind their eye color?
At first, his eyes were green because of nature. Then they were brown, because I have brown eyes that I'm quite fond of. Then, they turned golden to sync in with being the son of Justice (plus for magic OP-ness). Now they're silver as a Silven.

Nah. Elf height Elf.

8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?
Turning away from the past in the pursuit of a better, self-driven future.

Selwynn was initially based off of me, but I've removed most light-hearted aspects of the character. I've implanted a lot of my own individual interest in history and philosophy into the character as a contrast to force characters like Jared, Tristan, and sometimes Cedric to question themselves and their own motives.

Not necessarily love interests, but as I said before, I think that Selwynn provides a contrast in playing a sage-like devil's advocate to his friends which is a role not often filled.

General backstory. After that, appearances; teal eyes, long hair, Estyne may or may not have been an incarnation of a previous OC, by which I mean I'm not sure if I thought that at the time or if I retroactively decided it later.

Parents, though at the time, they were more of guardians. At the time, the lore had Nymph Yanars which were more humanoid and had human births. I actually wanted Estyne to be birthed like the original Yanar, sprouting from a tree or something instead of human birth. I was denied, which is ironic because that's how it works now, lol! Even more ironic since I actually grew to like human Estyne more and now actually prefer human birth to growing from a tree. So her parents at the time were simply guardians who founded the tribe. Oh man, writing all this just brings back the entire backstory I had. I could rant on it...

How did you choose their name?
I had in mind that it meant "Child of the forest". The lore was more loose at the time, which also meant we had more leeway to make up our own headcanon, including language. I had in mind that my character's tribe was isolated and had their own language, and Estel meant "light" (Actually, I think that was canon at the time), with certain children's names being derived from their beloved goddess. Thus Estyne, vaguely based on Estel, meaning "Child of the Forest" in a somewhat arbitrary made up fashion. Would've been considered a generic name.

In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
Not much that I can think of. Estyne currently isn't a very developed character, relatively speaking.

Is there any significance behind their hair color?
Estyne's hair was black at first because I wanted a more human character. At some point Nymph Yanars were required to have some plant features that distinguished them from humans so I reluctantly made her hair a slight shade of green. But again, I grew more accustomed to that and now she proudly has obviously green hair, whether on Massive as a proper Yanar, or in my own world as a "human".

Is there any significance behind their eye color?
Teal/cyan: a bright mix of blue and green; green because plants. Just a personal favorite color. I guess it makes her a bit exotic. I recently learned all human eyes are naturally blue. What makes it different is the iris, which has a layer of melanin. More melanin makes the eyes brown, less makes all shades in between (hazel, amber, green, etc). People with blue eyes are actually more susceptible to eye cancer due to less melanin shielding them from harm. Kinda counterproductive for a people that lives in a very sunlit forest/jungle, but oh well. Creative license.

Is there any significance behind their height?
Short, because I imagined her being young and childlike. She was far younger at the beginning.

What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?
Her backstory was very much based on my relation with my family. Far less so now, though a connection is still there, in a more positive way.

Are they based off of you, in some way?
Generic yes. Based off my personality and so on. But Estyne is her own person, with her own backstory, upbringing, etc. I like things to be very realistic and in-depth, which means even though she's based on my personality, she is her own person who would have had her own individual life with far many differences. Despite the similarities, we would definitely and clearly be two different people if put side by side.

I didn't care for any of that. For one, she was really young at the time. Plus, I held no interest in romance or love RP. I'm starting to consider it a bit more now though, just to get some fresh experience.

I have her face more or less clearly pictured. At least in a more cartoony way. One of my art hobbies is translating simplified or cartoon/comic-esque people into realistic ones. I've tried drawing Estyne realistically a couple times, my aim is something that I could clearly recognize as her without a doubt. Sometimes it kinda works but I haven't quite gotten the hang of it yet. I imagine she'd appear quite differently in real life than in cartoon.

How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?
In terms of both Aloria and my own world, I haven't done much with Estyne at all. She's mostly been a bandaid of sorts, for small, lighthearted events to make me feel better. I didn't feel comfortable taking her on more deeper, and thus riskier, roleplays. Things have improved though, so now it may actually be possible to take her on more deeper and grander adventures.

If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
My goal in roleplay is to develop her, see what she's made of, flesh out her personality, etc etc, so I constantly have to differentiate myself from her. The line is blurry, she's not me but she shares the same personality. I often wonder if I can just act normal as myself, or if I should consciously put myself in her shoes. Since the line is so blurred, the thing I have to keep in mind the most are the differences.

What is something about your OC can make you laugh?
Her naivety.

What is something about your OC can make you cry?
Not much so far since one of the original purposes of having her as a character was to avoid that kind of thing.

Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?
Not really since she currently isn't very developed. The only thing I would consider is adding some tragic event to her life that significantly shapes who she is.

What is your favorite fact about your OC?
I like characters that develop organically instead of me deciding things for them, things like favorite items, hobbies, etc. My characters in Estyne's race or family line all have connections to particular plants or trees. For a long time, I didn't know what Estyne's was, I just based it on whatever plant I happened to be obsessed with at the time, cosmos, marigold, chrysanthemum. But that felt forced and not organic. One day I was at a library near a certain park. This park was by a riverside and had willows, so I casually decided to research willows to pass the time. After reading about them, their usages, their significance to past cultures, their symbolism, etc, it just clicked. Estyne was a willow.

The first thing that came to mine was her appearance- I wanted a Claith character so I wanted the stereotypical "ginger hair, green eyes, and uncivilized clothes style".

How did you choose their name?

For Merina's name I actually got it from a forums role play a did where I had a character named Meer (like shy). I originally named her Meer but after deciding she'd have a full name, fixed it to Merina with her nick name being Meer/Mer. As for other characters, I based her a little after Clarissa from Reign, Kerstel from The Winner's Kiss (more so Kerstel's nickname "Little Ghost") and the rest was drawn from my imagination.

In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?

In Eriu-Innis, there is a tradition that weak children are sacrificed, which shaped Merina's life. She was always the weakest of her siblings and smallest, but since she was her mother's first child that way (not her first born though) she wasn't killed. Instead, she was isolated a bit and stayed close to her only sister- though as Merina got older and it got closer to the time she'd be able to marry, her parents began to realize that Merina was not fit to get married and bear children, so they planned to kill her silently and be rid of her. Mer discovered the plans and ran away where she snuck aboard a trade ship from Regalia and made it to the city.

Is there any significance behind their hair color?

The significance is that it proves she is a Claith- she has bright ginger hair that stands out in a crowd.

Is there any significance behind their eye color?

Another trait that proves her a Claith- emerald green eyes.

Is there any significance behind their height?

Not really, a bit on the tall side but that's about it.

What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?

I only relate to the fact of having many siblings- going on to six brothers when my mom has her next baby in October and seven if my dad marries his girlfriend. (Divorced parents). I have no sisters though, unlike Merina who has one.

Are they based off of you, in some way?

They are based off how anti-social and why I can usually be, though she is even more so shy then I am as she's known to run away from people rather than talk to them.

If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?

Merina has had one failed relationship with a sewer-rat named Dexter O'Keefe and another interest that is kept secret at the moment. While she normally does not change for others, for the current person she has fallen for, the Claith has come out of her shell about and rather hide behind him which she always did with Dexter, she's starting to stand up for herself- if just a little bit. As for compatibility, the two are almost exact opposites which might be a good thing because one is serious and teaches people how to survive while the other is silly and teaches people how to live.

Did you know what the OC's sexuality would be at the time of their creation?

I knew Merina would be straight from the beginning for two reasons; A) I don't really wish to plan a female character that has an interest for another woman because I wouldn't be able to play it well since in my own life, I don't like women. It just wouldn't work well for me personal, I don't have an interest in it. B) Merina had never been introduced to homosexuality in Eriu-Innis since the people she knew were her siblings and her sister's husband's family. She's much like I was growing up- I never saw (more so, comprehended) gay people until I was in seventh grade- so about three years ago- so I didn't really think it was a thing. It's nothing against them, it just wasn't around until I hit middle school.

What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?

It's hard writing about her, I want to write something light hearted and such about her but she's not a very light and open person. Most of the time she's closed off and worries so a lot of her stories are the same topic of worry.

How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?

The only thing I know, is I've considered how she'll die- which is likely either getting murdered by someone from her life when she was involved in the sewers or childbirth with a second or third child as she is still a weak person.

If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?

The fact that she hates talking, socializing (basically she's very boring) and that she is the type of person that is head-over-heels for her crush (a.k.a she's a major flirt with the person she likes but due to the fact she's awkward in social situations it can get a bit laughable.)

What is something about your OC can make you laugh?

She does all sorts of stupid things, it's a bit silly.

What is something about your OC can make you cry?

She's frustrating- I don't really cry for her, but she does get a bit annoying never coming out of her shell.

Nothing, I love her backstory and think it's fine as it is.

What is the most recent thing you've discovered about your OC?

She likes challenging people in the heat of the moment- mostly the people she's close with. If someone tries to hurt her or bully her, she'll use anything she knows about them to hurt them back since words are her only real weapon.

She was made to be my character with the rough life and she's managed to actually rise above being a sewer dweller to having close friends and becoming a shop owner.

The first element I did was her backstory. Since I applied for Juliette, her name and appearance were already taken care of for the most part.

I based Juliette mostly off my own imagination, but I had a few aspects of Mare from Red Queen and Lady Kenna from Reign.

Juliette grew up in the middle of the Ithanian countryside with only her Governess and parents since her siblings were all older and doing their own thing. This taught her to be independent as well as adventurous since she lived in the country and would often go out exploring- this fueling her first real dream in life which was to be an explorer.

Is there any significance behind their hair color?

Nothing except it makes her look Ithanian and like her family members.

Is there any significance behind their eye color?

Same as above.

Is there any significance behind their height?

She's on the shorter side, which helps with the fact that she's Mariposa and it assists with her being able to faster- but she's also not as strong.

What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?

Nothing, honestly.

Are they based off of you, in some way?

Only her looks are like mine, and that's only the ones that I had no choice in (hair color, eyes color, etc.)

If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?

She is married, and it was a noble marriage based around love rather than politics. Juliette and her husband, Lautaro Wodenstaff, are nearly complete opposites and neither have changed never much while they've been together except they both grew more mature and learned to be adults together since they met when they were both sixteen.

Did you know what the OC's sexuality would be at the time of their creation?

Yes, reason being reason 'a' for Merina.

What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?

Not really.

I still don't exactly understand this, though I will say I've had it been two years since Lo happened for Juliette- for the reasoning of wanting to age her up but also still wishing she'd been in Lo when she was fifteen/sixteen.

If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?

Juliette is a chatter person and she's not afraid to speak to anyone- even the Emperor who she's approached four times so far, twice only to say hello.

What is something about your OC can make you laugh?

She's cocky as hell.

What is something about your OC can make you cry?

The fact that she's had so many people close to her die, it has only made me tear up once but it's just a bit depressing sometimes.

Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?

I wish I had choosen a different school of combat for Juliette sometimes but at this point it's too much of her character to change so I'll never void her being Mariposa but I might have her take up another school in addition.

What is the most recent thing you've discovered about your OC?

She's becoming a grown up, no longer being a stupid little girl like she originally was but actually getting somewhere in her life.

What is your favorite fact about your OC?

She's not entirely irrelevant and people actually know who she is.

Spoiler: Ra'Kashiin

1. She was going to be a vampire, made back when the Cret'venir and Est'unfae bloodlines were still around.
2. Nah, not really. At the time I hadn't had many other characters, and Ra'Kashiin, T'aryn back then, was sort of a new beginning.
3. Somehow I was unaware that Taryn is an actual human name. So I just tried to make something that sounded vaguely Eroque. After the Kleinfolk rewrite, I immediately started throwing Rashaq names at a wall and tried to find what would stick.
4. The most significant part of her backstory was leaving her native islands, and travelling out into the world she'd never heard of.
5. Kinda. As a vampire, pre-rewrite, she had red eyes. And now, she has red hair. Never really intended, but looking back it's funny.
6. Not really. All Rashaq have green eyes, so there isn't any sort of hidden meaning for it.
7. I chose the median between the max and min heights, at the time the page was released. 3'9".
8. A desire to learn, if anything. She left her home to see the world, meanwhile I spend hours on wikipedia learning about ants and monkeys.
9. Not really. At least, not intentionally. I suppose everyone accidentally lets parts of them slip into their character, so there's probably some bit of me floating around in there.
10. LI? Don't think I now what that means, sorry.
11. Kinda. I never really choose my characters' sexuality, most of the time. But Rashaq are all pansexual, according to the wiki, so I just roll with that.
12. Procrastination. It's the most difficult thing for me when trying to do anything.

18. How much she's changed, from the first time I played her to this very minute. I don't often think, but when I do, it's interesting to find things. T'aryn is very different from Ra'Kashiin, despite being the same person. It interests me how that may have occurred.

Spoiler: King Gox

1. Fallisma, at the time. Now he's a Tresmisae. I love feral characters, vampirism's merely an added bonus.
2. Gox as he is now is actually Gox v2. The original was a throwaway in a throwaway Fallimsa horde me and some friends played. I fell so in love with the idea that I reused the skin (now using a different one, though) and name.
3. It sounded fitting to me. Really all I can say.
4. Being born a simple farmer. It felt bizarrely fitting, given he considers himself a king now.
5. I've always liked dark hair. And black's about as dark as you can get.
6. All vampires have red eyes, yes. But I sort of see Gox's as a sign of his abandonment of his previous life, and acceptance of his new form.
7. Gox is tall, 6'3". Mostly because he's meant to be intimidating, and look powerful.
8. Not particularly. We're quite opposites, in fact.
9. Not that I know of, but as I said in my previous study, I believe a part of the player finds its way into the played.
10. Again, not quite sure what this means.
11. I decided that he would lack sexual desire or interest shortly into the process of writing his app.

1. What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
   • Kristoph was designed to be a fighter, specifically for the guard. I wanted to be a guard at the time, but female characters were not able to join, and thus Kristoph was made.
   • Nyx was created originally not to be played. She was designed as an azure ambassador, a woman against mages. I made tweaks however and made her into a working character who's now a Witch Hunter.
   • Riane's first element was that she was Ulric's daughter, and that she'd be a fighter. I wanted a fighter noblewoman, not a tea and shade type.
   • Rhov was just a a tough Avanthar who'd be against what he was, a Silven. He'd learn antimagic to try and prove himself to be separate and fight against them/
2. Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?
   • Kristoph was influenced by Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney by the Gavin brothers. That's where the German background, blonde hair and first name came from.
   • As for Riane and Nyx, I drew no influence from other games and all. Just random ideas.

   • All my characters bar Kristoph are a result of me googling "male/female <culture> names" and skim through until I found ones I liked. Kristoph was taken from Kristoph Gavin from Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney.

   • Originally, Rhovanion was chased from home for his eyes, and magical significance which the Avanthar hated. Plus how he learned magic.
   • Riane, Nyx, and Kristoph all grew up in conservative Calmberg. Riane was the only one who would have had issues, as she was a young noble girl who wanted to fight in the military.

   • Kristoph: Gavin brothers from Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney.
   • The rest? No.

   • No.

   • All my characters are taller than me, because I've always wanted to be tall myself. I was told I'd grow to be 6' since I was little, but abruptly stopped at 5'6 when I was 12.

   • Nothing, really! Most of my characters I try to be bigger than myself. Good people (although they're not always nice!) who try to do what they feel is right.

   • Riane used to have a sketchbook she carried around, which was partially an insert on my half for a hobby. Otherwise, you could say I express pent up frustration through certain characters, where I wouldn't have the heart to do it myself.

    • I avoid character romances. They're awkward for me. @Muffins_ @MonMarty you know this very well.

    • I typically always do straight characters. That's just what's comfortable for me, but also doesn't matter because I don't do romances.

    1. I can't translate my thoughts onto paper well. I can't draw certain details that I'd like to have, and it drives me insane. I actually cannot draw Kristoph properly because I'm terrible at drawing men with beards. Also when I have to change colors because of a lore change (Like Rhovanion's eyes when silverts vanished for a while), it drives me insane because I design characters with a color palette in mind. The eyes really tied well into his palettes and it never felt the same after.

    • I like to imagine Nyx is a dragon in my sketches sometimes. Just for kicks.

    • They are racist.
      • I will never go about characters that will hold hands with every race. Racism exists and I dislike how it is blatantly ignored in certain situations.

Her father and deceased mother, to match the fam. Ended up having her being a lot like her mother because I thought it would be sweet.

Her mother dieing when she was seven and then again her dad being away for Skagger training, having no siblings either, she was almost left alone and orphaned when Valbrand was kidnapped and Agnette thought he was dead.

Having her study navigation at first. But that'll soon change with a rewrite.

That she's developing to become independent, and is a pretty honest person.

Appearance and her skills and who she was going to be and what she was going to do. So a bit with backstory there. Her original design was as a mercenary and Alma mage, but no more than two weeks into playing her I removed the magic aspect for full mercenary and made her expert in her school. As for appearance, I wanted her to just seem wholly practical, with short hair and simple clothing being a way to show that.

Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?
Maybe a bit with Ania Coen at the time (I think she was still a Santorski then), as I saw her as a confident woman in a high position in the guard.

How did you choose their name?
Looked up Arabic names, wanting something short and easily spelled for both first and last.

In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
Not having a sibling until it was close to the time she left, being a child who more kept to herself. Growing up in a Hadritya- so having a different religion (at least growing up with a different one), and like her people being progress oriented that I translated to focusing on work.

Basic hair color for all Qadir.

Same as above answer.

Qadir aren't that tall but I didn't want her to be a shorty as a fighter. 5'8 was around middle height and I thought it sounded good, didn't want her at the taller side of the spectrum as I thought that's where the males would be.

Are they based off of you, in some way?
Not too much if anything, we're quite different. Some parts of her humor or what she finds funny are shared.

No LI currently, but the last one I feel like I changed how I RPed her a bit, and didn't like that. So was for it ending and the other person luckily was losing interest in the character at the same time so it all worked out.

Yee. But I considered asexual and focusing on work, it's between that and straight, and could always change.

Finding a good and accurate face claim, especially one that's from a movie that I could use gifs from in either a medieval or Arabic type of setting for app aesthetics.

• Nal Roh was more a steriotypical Orc than anything else back when I first made him. Outside of that, he is completely my own.

• @ClearlyNotAlexis actually gave me a list of names, and I chose two from the list: Nal and Roh.

• His culture. He was brutal, bloody, and dumb. All things his culture and religion endorsed. In the more recent version, it was his poor vision and his relocation to Hadar that played the biggest roles.

• He has no hair.

• Dakkar don't have a range of eye-colors.

• He was always meant to be tall, but at this point I've just given in and made him as tall as he can be. He's meant to be a paragon of strength and has more than enough weaknesses to balance him out.

• As Nal Roh became stronger as a concept, he became easier to write. Outside of my initial difficulties in writing him (I was far worse than I am now), it's been a smooth ride.

   The race and minecraft skin. I originally designed her to just look nice and immersive in the factions worlds.

   She was based on innocent, kind-hearted, and mischevious fairies, but no particular characters.
3. How did you choose their name?
   I was thinking of fairy-like names and came up with simply "Ni", and then shortly after, "Ni Alvira". Her name has since then extended and adapted to the lore to become "Niantha Aalvienta".
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
   Her assistance in her family's herbalist business at a young age, and the infection of her Grandfather with Dulofall. The infection was the catalyst that drove her out of Daen and into Regalia.
5. Is there any significance behind their hair color?
   Prior to rewrites, Niantha was covered in both holly and ivy. I chose those plants because my name is Holly, and I thought that was a pretty cute tie-in. Now it is just ivy.
6. Is there any significance behind their eye color?
   I got confused with the Yanar update and thought Yanar eye colors were supposed to be both purple and yellow. Turned out, I was incompliant the whole time and have ended up confusing many players as a result! Her eyes are now brown, which match with Selwynn's irises sans Silven powers.
7. Is there any significance behind their height?
   Not really. Her height has fluctuated up and down with Elven rewrites, but I try to keep it around high 5ft - low 6ft.
8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?
   It's hard to say. Her life and background is entirely different to mine, yet we share a fair amount of personality traits (likely due to how long I've played her). I can relate to constantly striving to be better, but never feeling up to par, which is one of her most prominent aspects.
9. Are they based off of you, in some way?
   I think so. While she wasn't intended to be a self insert, she has slowly adapted to become more like me and vice versa. She's far more loud and outgoing, but were I not so introverted, I think we would be similar.
10. If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?
    Not much, actually. The only thing I alter is her amount of "emotional instability". If she didn't have a played husband, I would probably make her a lot more daring and chaotic.

    I never really considered it. Her first love interest was male, so she ended up considered hetero.
12. What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
    Getting art made of her. Because her hair is short, and made of leaves, I think a lot of artists shy away from her design. And I don't blame them!
13. How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?
    I've put a lot of thought into her behind-the-scenes hobbies, like and dislikes, character flavor, etc. I've also considered how she would be altered to fit into the WoW universe (during my brief stint of WoW roleplay), in a mundane medieval Robin Hood sort of setting, and how she would be portrayed in the modern day.
14. If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
    1. Nadina is not resilient. At all. Everything negative that happens to her must, and will, always effect her down the line.
    2. If a situation is encountered that Nadina believes she could alter, it must always be acted upon. Whether stepping in, speaking up, or just making a mental note for later; an opportunity must never be passed.
15. What is something about your OC that can make you laugh?
    How she tries to act all uppity and high class, but always ends up breaking her facade in the worst ways. Especially by cracking a horrid pun or an "ambiguous" joke at an inappropriate moment.
16. What is something about your OC that can make you cry?
    The fact that she can never let go of her negative memories, and they will continually pile up until she eventually goes insane, or dies. It pains me to roleplay Nadina sobbing and bingeing on opium because she got triggered.
17. Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?
    As hard as it is for me to admit, I sometimes regret Nadina's romance with Ztril. I was a bit out of tune with the lore back then, and I should have realized that it was not "realistic" of her backstory to court an Allar. Conversely though, I regret the Nenyarina and how that messed up all her progress. I created it partially for the IC reaction to the Sorenvik investigations, but mostly for the OOC Beggar's King scenario which was dropped. At that point though I couldn't void it so I ran with it. I feel like it would have been smoother for her to remain with Ztril and have none of that happen. I ultimately gained a lot of experience and new IC and OOC relationships from the ordeal though, so I'm not all mad!
18. What is the most recent thing you've discovered about your OC?
    Nadina is very, very cunning, and good at persuading others to see her a certain way. I occasionally worry what this says about me OOC!
19. What is your favorite fact about your OC?
    Nadina lost her eye in an IC scenario back in 2015, when she was lead down into the sewers to treat a supposed injury. Once down there, a Chi'en-Ji Vampire (@Empaul) jumped her, sedated her, and took her back to the Kindred base to use as a blood slave. Her eye was taken as a punishment for screaming!

I know that the first thing I wanted to do was change his name so I did so I suppose that
2. Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?: I tried to remember how Leugel was and then I made the exact opposite. I also wanted him to be different compared to other Northerners.
3. How did you choose their name?: I have no idea, I think Ardige is a Scandanavian name but every time I've looked it up recently I'm not sure so...I don't know where I got it from.
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?: Living at the military academy where he started to learn tactics is the most likely place.
5. Is there any significance behind their hair color?: No, it was just an attempt to conform to the family and cultural genetics.

10. If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?: He doesn't have a single LI, he was married twice and at this time he's more just looking for anyone when he gets in a mood which he rarely allows himself due to his character.

He's Northern but I don't want to copy straight from GoT so it's hard to find minimalist fashion or fashion at all from Scandinavia from the period I want it to come from.
13. How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?: The only one that really had any effect was the Bone Horror Crisis which pushed him and his family back to the Archipelago again. It was also the last time he was close to Ania Santorski.

2. Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?: No one really, I did want him to be more of an opposite to the previous Enok.
3. How did you choose their name?: As I stated before, was the first thing I thought of and I wanted to keep the name Enok/Enoch as I like it.
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?: Probably Girobalda, he received most of his information about the other races there as well as other areas of the Regalian Archipelago.
5. Is there any significance behind their hair color?: Not really, I just wanted it to be interested to have brown hair and a tan-skinned character.
6. Is there any significance behind their eye color?: Not particularly.
7. Is there any significance behind their height?: I wanted him to be a "medium" height character and stands at 5'10 as a result.

What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?: The awkwardness about being gay, I felt pretty bad about being gay for a year or two of my life but eventually I got past it so I hope Enoch does sometime. I also relate to their creativity since I have to come up with the work he does, it's me working through him using what I feel he knows to create a work.
9. Are they based off of you, in some way?: They are based off of my personality the most of all my characters, being the person I am. They are also based off of a career that could have been if I was better with physical art, I might have headed down that pathway instead.
10. If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?: Truthfully they had one but with time, I felt it was holding the character back to a degree and their LI wasn't played much. He was made to be very compatible with the LI which worked fine.

Even since then, he's been pretty constantly in writing letters to his family which has been a bity awkward since only one of them knows he's gay and they have been noticing his lack of mentioning a significant other in his life.
14. If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?: It is harder for him to speak to men compared to women and he is an Etosian Unionist.

16. What is something about your OC can make you cry?: Nothing really makes me cry with Enoch but sadness, just that he had one relationship that failed and then a second one that didn't really get off the ground before it was ended.

   • The personality came first. I wanted him to be somewhat different than other northern characters, and not be a typical stereotype.

   • I have not.
3. How did you choose their name?
   • I looked for a nordic name, one that isn't being used as of now. I ended up with Hadrian and from that point forward the name adhered to me.
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
   • His birth. Hadrian was born a bastard, and this still plays a big role in his life nowadays. Another essential part is that later on he and his brother chose to leave their home to sail to Regalia. Hadrian always had to take care of himself from that point forward and did as such alone, he never had somebody he could rely on, apart from his brother.
5. Is there any significance behind their hair color?
   • He was supposed to not resemble any of my other characters, and therefore I chose a color I haven't used yet.
6. Is there any significance behind their eye color?
   • I wanted to connect Hadrian to myself a little, so I chose the blue eye color.
7. Is there any significance behind their height?
   • Not really, apart from the fact I wanted to not make him too tall or small. So I went with the in between.
8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?
   • His insecurity. It reminds me of my old self, when I used to be insecure, too. It's nice to see something like that work out in roleplay, and slowly see that even Hadrian slowly becomes more confident every day.
9. Are they based off of you, in some way?
   • Slightly. Most personality traits are somewhat based off of me. The appearance isn't based off of me, yet it was intended to be the direct inverse of what I look like, apart from the eye color. At the same time I endeavored to make him look a little german, therefore he has the common aryan look - blond hair and blue eyes.
10. If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?
    • He does not have a love interest yet.
11. Did you know what the OC's sexuality would be at the time of their creation?
    • I did not, and to be honest I still don't know.
12. What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
    • That regardless him being a northerner, he should look very friendly and open and not like an intimidating viking.
13. How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?
    • Not too much. I wrote a few extensions regarding his backstory just for myself, but that's mostly it.
14. If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
    • Despite him being insecure, he should interact with people and approach them.
      
    • Remind myself who he is, and don't switch him up completely. He shouldn't turn into a complete other person after several months, he should stay like he is now, obviously not taking smaller changes in account.
15. What is something about your OC can make you laugh?
    • He doesn't know when people are trying to flirt with him, and when not. He'll never take any flirts serious and just think of it as a joke. If one wasn't completely direct, he wouldn't understand it.
16. What is something about your OC can make you cry?
    • That his brother decided to not come to Regalia with him, and just left him all alone.
17. Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?
    • Adding his brother to the family tree and the backstory. I wanted someone to roleplay as him, yet finding a good individual is normally very hard, since most people lose interest in playing the character after a while.
18. What is the most recent thing you've discovered about your OC?
    • That he's uncertain about himself, in regards to numerous things. He's uncertain about his sexuality as well as his skills. He used to be a dedicated individual, however now he has been kicked out of a mercenary group and is left alone, thinking that he's useless.

    • That he's still so pure. He never has been in a relationship before, and still isn't thinking about having one.

  • I considered making him a bard and mutt of some sort.

  • Originally no, but over time I nit-picked bits of different characters. Parts of his appearance are part inspired by Gilmore from Critical Roll, Dorian from Dragon Age, and Magnus Bane from The Mortal instruments, while his personality is a mix of Dandelion from The Witcher and my own design.
• How did you choose their name?
  • My mother told me once that if she had gotten her way with naming me, my name would have been Elias. I liked the name so much thatch couldn't help but use it.
• In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
  • Elias has taken bits of his cultural identity from all across Daendroc. but more specifically the cities of Portimao and Arvost. They're his two favorite places in the world and it's where he began and developed his skill in the musical arts.

  • Nope! Just plain dark brown.
• Is there any significance behind their eye color?
  • Elias' eyes are actually inspired by my S.O's eyes that look near amber gold out in the sun.

  • I relate to the burden of wanderlust, that gnawing in the back of your mind to go out and explore what's around you without plan or worry.

  • Zero percent. Elias is who he is and while he may curve his focus and time investments like we all do for our love interests, his personality will never change to accommodate them.

  • Nope. Not even sure if I know what it is now. It's been pretty hetero so far but he isn't opposed to branching out. Pansexual I suppose.

  • Getting art of him made, not because his appearance is difficult but because I'm poor as dirt.
• How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?
  • I've dabbled so much into alternate timelines and universes with Elias it would be to painful to explain.
• If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
  • His worldview is often times a bit difficult to work with because of how against the grain of Regalia he is. Sometimes I want to wuss out and be like 'oh yeah, unionism! Ailor supremacy' but that isn't something Elias would do. So I go against the grain.
  • Elias is a rather unworried and carefree fellow, and so I have to avoid translating my own OOC worries into his character interactions in order to maintain the realism of his character.
• What is something about your OC can make you laugh?
  • His admirable ambition in the toughest situations. He takes on tasks that have a tendency to be seemingly impossible and abstract, yet still manages to pull them off.
• What is something about your OC can make you cry?
  • He'll never achieve his dream of being a father, not biologically anyway. Since I started playing him I knew he'd want to have a bunch of kids, so I saw a chance to plant some drama seeds that wouldn't impact him anytime in the foreseeable future. I made him infertile. While I'm of course the monster who did this, it's still said to think about sometimes.
• Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?
  • Originally I pushed him have some combative skill even though I didn't really need it/want it. Apart of what makes Elias so fun to play is that he /doesn't/ know how to handle confrontation. That's been fixed however.
• What is the most recent thing you've discovered about your OC?
  • As much as he means well Elias is a bit of a mooch. He'll call on favors from his friends and pay them back in songs or half promises that he never fufills.
• What is your favorite fact about your OC?
  • He's fun to play. His particular skill set makes for a good social character, however his personality often gets him tossed up into situations he doesn't know how to handle. Keeps things fresh.

( I wrote this without much planning to organization, so for any readers, I'm sorry if something I say isn't clear. )

1. What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
   1. The first element of my OC, Vaughn Haagenvig was his general niche and appearance. At the time of creation, and even still today, I've had a never-ending love for Nordic culture, mythology, and et cetera.
2. Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?
   1. As I started to get into Norse mythology and things alike (Especially the history of vikings and what they've done), I imagined Vaughn to initially be somewhat of a Kalmarra Raider as the Alorian counterpart of a viking. Soon enough, while he had the (Unfortunate) stereotypical brutish personality and actions of what Northerners are portrayed as, I chose for him to be a noble as I felt like he could do more things with what I assume self-insert influence in his design as a baron of Drixagh.
3. How did you choose their name?
   1. Vaughn's name started off when I was simply thinking of names that could be revered as a "fierce warrior." Around the brainstorming for names, I had the mindset of, "How would x sound as if they were put into a sentence, such as, 'x slaughtered the dragon, yada-yada.'" Eventually, I came upon a name that sounded pretty badass, and I mixed it up with another. And so, "Valbrand" was his name. I found out it means "whale burning" by @Femma's knowledge of Swedish or whatever language she knows. Either way, his forced Imperialization changed his name to "Vaughn." I actually loved the name Valbrand as it had a nice ring to it. Shame it had to be changed, but that was because of my own dull decisions in roleplay.
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
   1. I would say Vaughn being born in Drixagh had the most influence on him, as it still effects him today. Living in the north has gotten him to love his first ever culture, and has hung around a generous amount of Northerners back in Drixagh, and in Regalia as well. After the razing of Drixagh (Enacted by Montagaard), he'd start to try to keep the culture in Drixagh strong despite the rather hazardous efforts to remove what most of the Empire believes to be axe-throwing, screaming brutes. Right now, he's working with Virathus Krupp and a few others to rebuild Drixagh, although with a catch.
5. Is there any significance behind their hair color?
   1. Nothing specific is significant about his hair color. His "dirty" blonde hair comes from the fact that he's Northerne, really. Despite being a mutt, his Kalmarra and Balltarc heritage. I also find the color to look best of him (Mainly because I haven't really tested with any other colors except for ginger and black, although half-arsed when changing colors). I will certainly keep the hair color unless someone decides to strike up an interesting concept of Vaughn's physical attributes.
6. Is there any significance behind their eye color?
   1. Similar to the question above, there's not much significance except for the fact that he's Northerne. His strong Kalmarra and Balltarc genes. His blonde hair blue eyes color scheme appears appealing enough for me to keep it. Something about his eyes, though, somewhat tell me something about the ice cold north that he hails from. Sort of like a connection, albeit not too representative of anything.
7. Is there any significance behind their height?
   1. Vaughn was originally 6'4" which I'll admit was very ridiculous. While it wasn't out of the general idea that he could be that height, it really seemed a bit too tall for having so many giant characters. Eventually, @MonMarty replied to a request to help me in his current ambitions and design, which came his first re-design. Now, he's 5'8" (Planned to be 5'6" but I found that ultimately awkward), which I entirely love as well. I don't rely on his size to try to do things he typically does, such as intimidating others. It also goes along with his combat school, unlike the 6'4" Northerne screamer super agile while simultaneously tank-like.
8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?
   1. I can't say I relate to anything with Vaughn except for his personality. Me and him share some sort of anger and easy temper that can be broken if you cut the wrong wires. As I find it somewhat difficult to portray personalities and etc., he's sort of like me IRL. Generally goofy, and I tend to enjoy being carefree, as he is. Not much else to it.
9. Are they based off of you, in some way?
   1. See the above question and its answer. Vaughn is heavily based off my personality IRL since I can't really portray characters right. I guess I come here to socialize when I can't be arsed to IRL, and just have a character I like to do it for me. However, I'm currently trying to actually portray him as he is. While he can be sometimes wild, and a bit boisterous, his Skagger training has kept him a bit more reserved during certain scenarios.
10. If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?
    1. Vaughn has no love interest at the moment so this question can't really be answered. No person has really took their time to form a strong bond with him, so he stays neutral at the moment. Regardless, if he were to have a love interest, it'd most likely be someone who was more reserved, yet some spark in them.
11. Did you know what the OC's sexuality would be at the time of their creation?
    1. Being straight IRL, my characters, or at least most have been heterosexual. I've made bisexual characters in the past (Primarily my Orcs), but Vaughn is heterosexual. However, I've sort of been talking to friends about "what if Vaughn was with x" (X being a male). I'm certainly fine if Vaughn did turn homosexual as to be honest, he's had stronger relationships with certain male friends except for his self-insert dead lover.
12. What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
    1. I would say creating Vaughn's general appearance via drawing would be the most difficult for me. While I would say I'm decent at drawing for what time I've spent drawing, I just can't get my idea of Vaughn on point via a drawing. I would say the easiest though, for me, has to be the writing. I really enjoyed writing up Vaughn's first iteration as Valbrand, and his redesign.
13. How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?
    1. I would say the event I've expanded most in his life story is the time of the raid enacted on his tribe by an enemy tribe under the moniker of Skaloekr. I believe the real reason behind me expanding on this raid is because the several major effects it had on Vaughn. The raid led up to his leave from Drixagh to the capital city, and the lost of his lover's life. Both ultimately changing his life, I enjoyed the writing I did for this section of his life story. However, while it was initially a giant paragraph on specific details, I've shortened it up during the redesign.
14. If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
    1. I really think the two things I need to be wary of when working with Vaughn and how I play him is primarily his Skagger training's mental honing and that he's a noble. Previously, or even recently, he has gotten into scenarios where he's been jailed due to anger getting the best at him. If he does continue this way, he'll most likely end up like any other dead Northerner that's been played in the past. I love his character, and I really don't want to see him gone just yet with what progression I can get from him. I'm most likely going to focus ont the part that his Skagger training means he's not going batshit crazy, and more collected unlike what I've typically played him as; however, I do plan making him somewhat carefree and a bit wild here and there. I also need to take this into concern with him being a noble, as he can get into deeper things than if he was a simple commoner.
15. What is something about your OC can make you laugh?
    1. I think just when Vaughn has his carefree moments with close friends, I typically begin to smile or even snicker. I find this part of him more enjoyable when he doesn't pertain the stereotypical aspects of a Northerne. I feel less pressure on me during these moments, and can really fortify a bond he has with someone else.
16. What is something about your OC can make you cry?
    1. I'll be honest in saying there has been moments where in roleplaying Vaughn I've teared up. Typically pertaining to when he's landed himself in a really bad state, or simply really sweet moments (More so things with his daughter) with close friends. Such instances being as when he, Nynn, and Hengest all lost their attempt to kill Heikki about last week. When he was actually stabbed and then killed by an accomplice of Heikki, I'm pretty sure I teared up as that was a character I've really played and developed. Seeing him go just really hit me hard as he could've had some more progression. Fortunately, while I was fine with him losing his life, I guess the others liked him as a character and chosed for his death to be voided. Then, his reunion with his daughter who had a similar moment when he lost his lover really was an emotional truck IC. Vaughn hasn't been paying attention to his daughter, Agnette, as much as he could, and for him to simply die like that without even telling her he left was hard. There, I actually teared up again as it really felt meaningful.
17. Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?
    1. I wouldn't say I regret anything in Vaughn's creation, except for the fact that he can be overly angry. All other points in his story are fine with me, as they've kept me content with the character. Despite many a handful of bad moments, I've enjoyed them in the end. They've tended to progress Vaughn somewhat, and get him into a place in the current setting of Regalia.
18. What is the most recent thing you've discovered about your OC?
    1. I can't say I've discovered anything with Vaughn, really. A lot of his previous actions has been because of how I can't portray personalities well, which I basically modeled him int a way that I already know at least the majority of things about him. Nothing else really flipped a switch about him currently.
19. What is your favorite fact about your OC?
    1. I just love the fact that even while he has gotten portrayed to be a stereotypical, gruff Northerne, he can have his gentle moments, or simply act way more docile than he typically is. These scenarios shine another light on him that gets me happy.

    1. Character alignment and drawing narrow faces. Narrow faces just look unnatural a lot of the time; it's hard to make something pointy and realistic.

    1. Quite a bit of travelling ideas had to be thought of, before arriving in regalia, so i had all that to deal with.
14. If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
    1. Over everything else, she cares most about herself. If something looks to dangerous, she's out of it. As much as she likes to be helpful, she wouldn't risk her life for anyone. Also, she's supposed to be flirty and seductive, which is hard to incorporate into every rp situation, but i do my best when i can.
15. What is something about your OC can make you laugh?
    1. Sometimes she does things and doesnt even know why. Winding people up is one of her favourite things, but she doesn't get any reward out of it and she knows that. That makes me giggle.
16. What is something about your OC can make you cry?
    1. She gets addicted to things very easily, so she doesn't handle loss very well. Going cold turkey from anything makes her miserable and that mein of sadness infects me too.

    1. It's really confusing that her ELF dad died, then she REMARRIED an Ailor so she has half-elf half-brothers. That takes me a while to wrap my head around a lot of the time

    1. She can be caring, in a twisted sort of way. She gets a soft spot for things that could put her in risky positions, but whenever she can, she'll try to swoop in and help.

I'm fairly certain that it began with the name. I had an OC from way back when named Atticus and he was incredibly anime in all aspects. I wanted to preserve the nostalgia by revamping him and making him more developed in a sense, so the Atty I use today slowly blossomed out of what used to be known as Atticus Aoi.​

❖ Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?

Of course. I knew I wanted him to be a father, so I invented both an ex-wife and two daughters in order to create that sort of persona. He was also created alongside a friend's OC, so naturally, I ensured the two of them would get along as their stories unfolded.​

❖ How did you choose their name?

I really liked Atticus Finch. The surname Faulkner is avian-related as well, so in a sense, his name is just an intentional parody. I was also interested in a name with wealth behind it, but also fit into an English culture.​

❖ In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?

I originally dreamt him up for another universe, one with werewolves involved. Most of his backstory revolved around that part of him, so I had to tweak it a bit so that it fit the MassiveCraft lore; however, I really miss that story arc, as it held quite a bit of drama. Additionally, he's centered around a talent for music. Most of what he does or enjoys is music-related, which is likely understandable, given his knowledge in the art.​

❖ Is there any significance behind their hair color?

Actually, somewhat. He was created with lycanthropy in mind, which meant that he aged much quicker than an average human. His hair had grayed significantly over time, but it had initially began as a chestnut brown.​

Admittedly, yes. When I first joined Massive, I noticed that a great portion of Regalian residents were obsessed with eye color. Having always harbored a hint of a troll within, I chose to give him ruddy brown eyes, ones that bordered on red. Any attention is good attention, right? ;]​

❖ Is there any significance behind their height?

Not really. He's rather average in that regard.​

❖ What do you relate to within their character/story?

I share his yearning for companionship. While I do enjoy having time to myself, I like to think about the future and what it may hold. His personality is ripped off of my own, too, but I don't go to nearly the same lengths to chase some "tail". We're both pianists and vocalists, as well.​

❖ Are they based off of you, in some way?

Most certainly. While it's regrettable to admit, a lot of him is based off of my own personality. I'm prideful, overly confident at times, gabby, and frustratingly headstrong in certain situations. Despite all that, there are bits of him I wish I had, namely his smooth demeanor of the romantic variety.​

❖ If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?

He has many interests, but none that are specifically "love" interests. He's his own character, so to speak, so others might have to adapt to his arguably overwhelming disposition if they wish to pursue him further than just a shared evening.​

❖ Did you know what the OC's sexuality would be at the time of their creation?

I had an idea. At first, he was heterosexual, but over time, I've noticed that he's more of a pansexual than anything.​

❖ What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC?

Edward Norton is his IRL face claim, but I've a style that I draw him in that doesn't resemble Ed at all. Luckily, he's nearly identical in appearance to Robert Small from Dream Daddy, so that's really handy if I ever need some free representational art. ;]​

❖ How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?

The meat of his backstory unfurled in a different universe, but I've managed to twist and alter some of it to make sense here. He's 38, but I've only been about Massive for around 2 years, so you do the math.~​

❖ If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?

Music and his terrible accent. It's almost charming, right?​

❖ What is something about your OC can make you laugh?

I enjoy making dog-related puns to those that know of Atty's werewolf heritage. A lot of them are horrifically cringey or just plain bad. ​

❖ What is something about your OC can make you cry?

Nothing makes me cry-- I'm a big, strong man.
Kidding aside, he does still love his ex-wife. He can never mend their relationship, which also drives a wedge between he and his beloved daughters. Despite not discussing this specific part of his history to anyone, he is reminded of them every day, especially so if he's alone with his thoughts.​

Sometimes I feel guilty playing the asshole, so there are instances where I bite back Atty's instinct to say what's on his mind. I'm hoping to rectify that in the future, as I've certainly taken notice of it.​

He's more interested in the soul than someone's appearance, or what's between their legs.​

He's old, average in appearance, and legitimately has no coin to his name, but he's been fairly successful with the ladies. Perhaps there's hope for all of us! ;]​

• What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?

Vlu's name was the first thing that came to mind.

• Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?

Yes, actually. My first "draft" at her personality was more or less a ripoff of Chihiro Fujisaki from Danganaronpa. She was someone who was frustrated with themselves for their lack of strength, in every sense of the word. Mind you, this was before the Circci rewrite, and this character was originally 5'1" and the definition of physically meek.

• How did you choose their name?

I chose a number of syllables, and made an onomatopoeia of "bug sounds". I chose three syllables, and the sounds were buzz-scratch-click, which resulted in Vlu-'xil-kik.

• In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?

Almost all of her past had a huge impact on her behavior today. She formed her sense of pride and duty from the nature of her race, and I decided that she would become worn down by the need to give 110% constantly. As a result, she's very snippy, antisocial, and prone to emotional breakdowns. Her love of nature was fostered by her time in Hadar, where she could observe the wilds in its purest form - thus, her Darwinist tendencies.

• Is there any significance behind their hair color?

No. This was just the norm for her race.

• Is there any significance behind their eye color?

No. However, I've taken to keeping her eye color a mono-yellow, rather than adding pink. I don't really define pupils when I draw eyes, and as a result, I just take the most dominant color and exaggerate it. Of course, her eyes are normal IC, but I don't like showing the pink portion whenever I depict her.

• Is there any significance behind their height?

6' is the minimum for her race. Again, she used to be 5'1", and I've actually wanted to lower her height back to that, as it fits her character better. But a repeated string of issues has caused me to back out of that. Still, I miss her short height. As a relatively tall person IRL, it makes for some nice escapism.

• What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?

I relate to how she feels the compulsion to better the world around her. She doesn't have any interest in herself, and instead acts with the hope that she will be of help by helping the people that will in the future help other people. If that makes sense.

The need to place the burden of the world upon herself is something that came directly out of me. Her sense of humor is similar to mine. Also might have imprinted my mental issues onto her - I.E. depression, OCD, and mild autism. Finally, her inability to multitask, which may or may not be a crutch for myself because I can't keep track of multiple events if you paid me to.

• If they have an LI, how much of their character is tailored to be compatible to that person?

Absolutely none. She feels attraction to people for the sole reason of wanting to protect them, and this constantly gets in the way of any serious development in the relationship.

• Did you know what the OC's sexuality would be at the time of their creation?

Not really. This was my first crack at a female character, and I wanted to be very, very careful with her sexuality - as this is a dreadfully common mistake that males roleplaying females tend to make. The first thought is to make a character the "wet dream" of the person roleplaying her. I, on the other hand, wanted to get as far away from that trope as humanly possible; thus, reclusive bug girl.

• What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?

Nobody does commissions of Circci, and I can't ever seem to draw anything I can be satisfied with, either because of proportion difficulties, coloring issues, or my own strong distaste in my own work.

• How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?

Let's just say I'm the only person who has defined my Circci's Meriac life. Of course, amnesia means next to none of it is usable, but I like to think about just how her experiences so long ago have molded her personality today, in the form of quirks and instincts.

• If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?

She can't look people in the face, and she has to act like a scared little princess; trying constantly to test her authority, but quick to back down or cry if actually challenged.

• What is something about your OC can make you laugh?

How blunt her speech is. I always imagine her speaking like a disinterested alien computer, and some of the things she says are hilarious to read if you keep that in mind.

Watching all of her relationships crumble to dust right before her. It's painful, especially since I've reflected so much of myself onto her.

What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?

• The first thing I tackled when writing Jean-Gaston was his visual design and skills. I had noticed a lack of blind characters, and a tendency for these characters to be weak, without skill and prone to self-victimize. I wanted to break the monotony by creating a blind character with aspirations, a drive to work for them, and hopes that extend beyond "I want to see."

Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?

• I had one character in mind when I wroe him, Gaston from the beauty and the beaast. I took Gaston's chissled body, and confidence, and flipped it on the head with Jean. That is perhaps why he has the middlename of Gaston, I think it's fun that a weak scholarly type has the name of one of the manliest men in all of media.

How did you choose their name?

• the first and middle name came from an attempt at frenchifying, as well as what's described in the point above. The last name was a Frenchify of my first character's name. Jean.Gaston is a rewrite of my first char.

In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?

• Culture played a major role in Jean's backstory; The Ithnian culture is based around art and the expression and admiration of beauty, Jean's dissability was a major crutch in this society. I think it was less so his drive and his blindness, as oposed to his culture and family that drove him to learn music.

Is there any significance behind their hair color?

• I wanted him to look average. No outstanding hair color or style, he was supposed to like like an average guy physically.

Is there any significance behind their eye color?

• The dull grayness in his blind eyes are there to quickly showcase his dissability in a visual manner to whomever I roleplay with.

• Jêan is supposed to look vunerable, his skinny physique and average stature helps place emphasis on this. He doesn't have to be a hulking giant, it serves no purpose for a man of his profession.

• His drive to work, to improve. Jêan has some part of me in him, like most of my characters. If I am to be honest, Jean has what I believe to be my most important aspect, and drive, my desire to entertain, and to improve. He has the same hunger I have.

• Physically, No. Mentally, a little; He acts differently from me, but we share the same dreams, and we've both struggled to reach such a goal.

What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
Generally when I think up characters I think of a 'trope' first. A very brief, shortened overview of what they are/do. So when I was thinking up Itty, first thing I remember deciding was that he was gonna be a very polite ambassador buggo.

Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?
Yes - some of the others in my loooong line of unsuccessful Circci/Vespid characters. I've enjoyed linking them all together inconspicuously in the past - it doesn't affect the character much, but it's fun to do even if nobody else will notice.

How did you choose their name?
I wanted to have a fun nickname - preferably one that would contrast with his personality. I also wanted something that would be very very difficult to pronounce properly, so that he could use this nickname a lot (and also because I love the awkward pause that tends to follow introducing a character as 'Ttichka'ttchyta'azztuc'). Thus, I decided on Itty first, and then Ytti'vetx, which I later edited a bit.

In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
Really the whole Meraic period played by far the most important part in defining how Itty is today. He has an extremely Circci-like mindset, which was brought on by his past life, and lots of the issues he is currently experiencing are because of that mindset.

Is there any significance behind their hair color?
Nope.

Is there any significance behind their eye color?
No, it's the only possible eye colour.

Is there any significance behind their height?
No. If I remember correctly he's 6 ft 2, which is the upper limit for Circci.

Nothing, really. As far as I can tell, Itty and I are very very different.

No, not deliberately.

I did, but now a lot has been changed around and I'm not so sure. It doesn't matter much for him anyway, because he is so closed off to everyone.

I've found writing in his mindset without sounding like an edgelord is fairly difficult. I'm not the best at writing though, so it's maybe just that.

1: He never contracts words.

Itty is so formal and careful with his words that nothing funny ever really slips out. And as for his actions - they're just as formal, most of the time. When they're not they're violent, which also isn't funny. Idk, I guess he just isn't such a funny guy.

Eh.. idk. Again, hes not very revealing. And inside he's mostly angry, so.

First thing I considered was gender and personality, I was struggling to chose between a cocky rude male or a shy kind and sensitive female. After playing her for a few months I decided to make her a female.
2. Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind? Yes! Lyra from Siren's Lament by instantmiso. I absolutely love all of her webcomics and characters, and so I based her around Lyra in some ways. I also had her parents and brother in mind.
3. How did you choose their name? I actually believe that I just looked up androgynous or male elven names and chose the one that really stuck out to me.
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts? Definitely those around her. The townspeople and her family influenced her the most.

Yep, She's meant to look just like her father despite being a stark contrast to him as well as being a mysterious color that is typically associated with the unknown or the negative. The color black represents strength, seriousness, power, and authority. But is also a formal, elegant, and prestigious color
6. Is there any significance behind their eye color? Yep, I chose blue because of the reason mentioned previously and because blue generally represents depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven. Blue is considered beneficial to the mind and body as well, it slows human metabolism and produces a calming effect.
7. Is there any significance behind their height? Yep, this actually played a big role in her back story, her being so small caused for others to begin picking on her.
8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story? The bullying she endured, her sensitivety, her tendency to shut those close to her out and eventually lash out at them, and her bad temper.

   3. Corlisse: is pronounced KOR-lisse. It is of Old English origin, and the meaning of Corlisse is "cheerful, carefree". From "carleas", a compound of "caru" meaning "grief" or "care", and "leas" meaning "free from" or "without".
4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts? Her fiancé, brother and her home in Ithania.
5. Is there any significance behind their hair color? Yes. Each hair color change has represented a change in her herself. When she dyed it to be brown it represented her being tainted, her giving up her natural beauty (the blonde hair) and natural self to become a totally different person, one who only looked out for herself and turned to violence to solve her problems. Her going back to blonde represented her trying to be her old self, but the dullness of the blonde compared to her once vibrant blonde represents how she can't fully go back to her old self, and how there are still bits and pieces or her from her 2.0 phase (the brown hair). And her dying her hair black signifies her accepting that she has issues and isnt perfect, she now knows she can't go back to being the woman she once was, but instead will try the best she can.

The fact that there are so little blind characters in Regalia, so I wanted to try my hand at making one.

I had the legend of Cú Chulainn in mind, specifically his training with the warrior goddess Scáthach on the isle of Skye. I wanted someone with a strong will despite her disability.
How did you choose their name?
I chose Aoife because it's an alternate spelling of Scáthach's twin sister's name. And her middle name is Skye, obviously named after the isle of Skye where Aífe and Scáthach duked it out.
In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
The tendency for Claith to leave disabled or mutated children to die. I wanted Aoife to have the need to make herself useful for her family to prove that despite her blindness she could still be useful.

What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?

For the original concept, the race. I wanted to RP a human (I had been roleplaying a different race on WoW before). When I brought her over to MassiveCraft the first thing I considered was what the F I will do since the original Audrey is a Kirin-Tor member (magic agent & researcher stuff) and only after reading the lore an hour into tavern RP did I realise this server is low-fantasy.

Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?

Both the original and the current Audrey were heavily inspired by Lorna Crowley, though current Audrey a lot more. I like how she's a mundane lady in a world of old gods, magic, undead, demons and whatnot yet she grits her teeth and goes on with life, hunting rifle in hand.

How did you choose their name?

A web-based name generator. Then I made up a random Italian surname. When I realised Ithanian had nothing to do with Italians, Ortaniso became d'Ortonnaise.

In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?

I (still) read the lore and started with the very basics and gone inside out elaborating on it. When I like a page I incorporate it in her backstory some way. She started out Ithanian, then I read more on the country & the culture and made it the more detailed, then I finally found the Italian-esque culture and made her a mix of the two. In the end though, I may have ended up with the mix of too much. I don't know, yet.

Is there any significance behind their hair color?

I do not know. Personal preference. One I loathe, it made finding the initial skin very hard.

Is there any significance behind their eye color?

Personal preference. Green fits red hair both in genes and in contrast and this allows for the Jessica Rabbit look.

Is there any significance behind their height?

Absolutely nothing. My WoW sheet has no mention of height, and I don't think I ever had (or will have) a situation where it is of any importance in RP. I think I went with something average-ish.

What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?

I think, without even knowing so, both the original Audrey and the MassiveCraft one have the trope of "dream occupation" VS "financially secure occupation". Audrey would have never considered becoming a fencer or a guard, though it made her life far easier in the story (and interestingly, it also seems to make her life easier in Regalia as well). It may have something to do with the inner conflict between a well-paying and a well-enjoyed degree to study. The struggle between the pursuit of art and personal realisation and securing the rest of one's needs.

Are they based off of you, in some way?

Previous, absolutely. It's always been a struggle to find that one occupation and ambition that strikes a balance between personal pursuit and self-actualisation and financial security.

No LI yet.

No, though the original Audrey turned out pretty much straight. The same personality will probably follow suit.

What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?

When writing, the voice. I always had trouble with creating a proper character voice and when roleplaying multiple characters at the same time it proves very hard to maintain a distinct voice. I have yet to try creating art of my own for Audrey.

How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?

I tried to involve as much of the story in both incarnations. In the Regalia-living Audrey, this was somewhat hindered by the lack of information on the wiki. I could scrape together recent happenings by going back to older world progression threads but most of the time it is way too much to read through and also very hard. The style in which these were published changed a lot over time and some of the writers are very different to what MonMarty writes like. And a lot of the progressions are broken into multiple threads that include "meaningless" information for the greater picture.

If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?

1. Paying attention to her place in society. Regalia seems to be far more rigid than any other RP environment I ever roleplayed in, bar a single one. It's something to pay attention to, but I think so far the attention has been rewarded. IC respect for IC respect. It is also an enjoyable thing. When I first started RPing, I tried to keep as firm as possible in interactions between classes. I only later found out some were far more relaxed and this gave me the idea to incorporate a reasoning in Audrey's back-story.

2. Keeping her different from myself. Sustaining her interest in politics, avoiding being shy and trying to push her to approach any and all. Those are perhaps the two hardest.

What is something about your OC can make you laugh?

Optimism. I played a pessimistic character for such a long time roleplaying a wildly optimistic one is very, very entertaining.

What is something about your OC can make you cry?

Nothing, yet at least. Perhaps one day when Audrey's fortunes turn from rising to descending and the true development begins.

Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?

The elven line. It made far more sense in WoW with the Quil'Dorei but the more I read about MassiveCraft's lore the less it makes sense and the more awkward it gets.

What is the most recent thing you've discovered about your OC?

An inner strife of ancestry. The way I started and still roleplay her somewhat contradicts the ancestry and some of her views which in turn gained her mild opposition from those sharing her homeland. A rather curious thing, something that may be the fuel of good development.

What is your favorite fact about your OC?

Possibly how humility and respect written into her character actually gained her some recognition and respect from both below and above her on the ladder.
