Isidoro of House Playero formally accepts Admiral Abelhard of House Latimer's challenge to a duel. Upon mutual agreement, the duel will not entertain the use of any style of magic and will instead be fought by champions.
  1. Isidoro Playero has elected His High Holiness Julius Peirgarten as his champion.
  2. Admiral Abelhard Latimer has elected his son, Eigoth Latimer, as his champion.
Further details regarding how the duel will be handled will be announced in the moments prior to the event. Prospective spectators are encouraged to send a letter to either Admiral Abelhard Latimer or Isidoro Playero so that they may be notified of the date that the duel will take place.

It is not necessary to RSVP.

Signed,
Isidoro Playero

(Based on IC responses to this post)
Paid couriers would be sent around, posting letters in various locations across the city, each letter stamped with the Peirgarten sigil. A message from Julius Peirgarten. It read; "I, Julius Ludwik Peirgarten will fight on behalf of Isidoro Playero, a man who has no fighting experience. Though let this be known... I will not fight the champion sent before me. But rather, I declare that I would duel Abelhard Latimer, who wanted the duel to begin with. I ask you, my Royal Guard comrade, if you are reading this. Fight your battle. Do not sent Eigoth in your place. Lest you wish for me to send one of my champions to fight in my place on behalf of Playero."
A single piece of parchment would be stamped with the Latimer sigil, tucked below the main posts.

"Do not take me for a violent man seeking bloodshed. After being cussed out over a grumble by Playero, then informed to duel him if I had a problem with said cussing out, I indulged such a challenge. I am old, retired, and have a rapidly degrading physical state. I informed him, that if he raised a champion, I would raise one myself. I do not have the capability to weather prolonged physical strain without intense pain, nor do I have the physical fitness to fight like I once had. This duel was incited by Playero, and if you do not wish to duel Eigoth on the behalf of Playero because you'd rather fight a retired man, feel free. I will send Eigoth nonetheless, unless Playero no longer wishes to hide behind a proxy.
Signed, Latimer."

And within the stone hallways of Greygate, a shrill of an anguished voice echoed from one of the various offices within the fortress,

"ADMIRAL WHAT HAVE YOU DONE THIS TIME?!"

@festiveCorvid fricken goblin actual monkey in a barrel who released you from satan's very own armpits

Abelhard eyed the letter, brows raising.

"Odd, I remember the challenger being him. Certainly going to have to amend that."

A little yawn escaped the Avant. They would tilt their head as they examined the notice before softly commenting, "Well, that'll be an intriguing duel to witness." And without further comment, Seraphina continued on with their day.

Wolfgang sat within the dining hall at the Inquisitional Stronghold, a bottle of fine Ithanian red to his right and a fine rolled cigar between his fingers. A shabby squire would walk in, offering a bow before presenting the letter to his desk for Wolfgang to read. The Genevaud would brow curiously to the document before skimming through the pages- his eyes widening as a large grin and laugh escaped between his lips.

"Very good!"

The Sol Avalorn smiled faintly. Memories of a far-off war clouded her vision, and a gloved thumb traced a line down her cheek, other hand slowly circling her burgundy wine at the bottom of its glass. Her foot tapped, and then she reached for pen and parchment, writing off a single line and moving to just deliver it herself, since she knew one of these people. She found the Latimer and passed off an informal note, as a reminder to let her know the time and place of the duel whenever he had it.
[ @festiveCorvid ] [OOC: just DM it to me when you got it]

"You better kick his Arse Eigoth or I might just some of my respect for you." The Url says to no one in particular.

After being cussed out over a grumble by Playero, then informed to duel him if I had a problem with said cussing out, I indulged such a challenge with the belief we'd have a civilized, two or three blow duel, to settle things. I am old, retired, and have a rapidly degrading physical state. I informed him, that if he raised a champion, I would raise one myself. "Latimer is right, Seems the Ailor Purists fear us Urls. If Eigoth loses after this imma be pissed," chuckled the Url.

A letter is pinned beneath the note, addressed to Isidoro

"Dear Playero,

Please notify me when the date is set, I shall adore watching Julius demonstrate honour and reverence by taking your place.

Signed,
Osira, Cielothar of the Stone Steps"

Tl;Dr: Notifications on.

Having already known about the duel, Manuel Would still pass a note to Isidoro.

"Me gustaría ver la pelea, te animaré al margen, amigo."

Fen'nan stalked back to the main papers, paper in hand, dragging her Brood companion with her. "Look at all this," she gestured to the various papers before writing on her own, glancing consistently from the board and back to the paper she jotted notes on, speaking, "Tsk. Politics, they've grown on me. Just look how amusing they are! Anyway, I want you to keep an ear out for news on this, it'd be useful to see."

Milo gave a low whistle as he read the papers. "Basically looks like fighting by having other people fight for you. Both of them seem like assholes but if it means Julius gets his ass handed to him possibly, that'd be fun," he replied with a small smirk.

"And aye, I'll keep you updated if I ever do see anything else like this."

A small sheet of paper was pinned below all announcements.

"As of the evening hours of 4/26/308 AC, this duel has been called off. This duel was based off past grievances, which have been dissolved through a duel between Isidoro Playero and Abelhard Latimer, fought within the colosseum. Abelhard Latimer emerged victorious by the retreat from the arena by Isidoro Playero after a gutwound. No further replies will be entertained by Abelhard Latimer, who has deemed Playero to be too Ungentlemanly to engage in a duel, a practice reserved for those of high social esteem and etiquette.

Signed, Abelhard Latimer,
Patriarch of House Latimer"

Raises a Cup of Tea to the Admiral and speaks in the Tongue of the Gods (Old Makdth) "Long Live Honor and Glory, The Fight has gone to the ritualist's chosen party so Lord Basthur shall count it as good Sacrifice. May he bring what ever punishment upon Playero he deem sufficient for his cowardice and petty refusals. Praise be the Gods and Long Live the Admiral," the Url says downing his Tea. As his young step daughter looks up and giggles at the strange sounds he is making.
