• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

So there's a thing other forum RP sites do where they make you do a "face claim" meaning that you find a picture of a celebrity to be the face of your character. On Massive this is almost unheard of and I personally have to agree, because it's awesome to see all the original character designs. BUT! While it's easy to find an artist to make your vision of your character come to life, I spend a lot of time thinking about characters' voices.

So I think a voice claim would be a neat idea. Not like it's official or anything, obviously. But the idea is to link a video to someone whose voice is what you imagine your character sounds like.

Let's hear them!

I have always said that Leah Kade spoke like Leia Organa. Bold, feminine, and very proper when issuing commands, speaking with clear distinction and that old actress thing where you imitate some parts of an English accent to sound more high class.

As for Helena Kind I love the sort of dark awkwardness of Mathilda from Leon the Professional She's always got that 'trying not to look like she feels anything' expression that's typical of Helena, while still having the wide-eyed curiosity. Yes the words a bit clunky but I think it's just how someone might speak if they hadn't spoken much in their life, and were trying to sound tough for the first time.

I think Garth simply keeps the same voice as his face claim, Richard Madden. Not too deep, not too high. Around just the middle in terms of depth in voice, though still has a touch of youth to it.

For Emerthas, I feel takes the cake for the voice.

I put a lot of thought into character voices too! I feel like my main Mama Yahdga would totally sound like Angela Lansbury (Mrs. Pots from Beauty and the Beast). She's that sweet English old lady who serves tea and snacks to just about any one.

That name sounds very much like Baba Yaga, the mythical wood witch who lives in a chicken footed house. Idk if that was your intent but it's a cool name and I dig it.

Oh my word, thank you, you're the first to notice. Originally Mama was gonna be more of an old alchemist hag who was just confusing in her dealings with people. Then I turned her more Cielothar-ish and made her a bit more peaceful but kept the name as a tribute.

Also, I think it's really cool that Leah speaks like Leia. Such a well known voice to associate with a character~

I think I can still stick to the original voice claim I chose for Audrey, Ingrid Pitt.

It's not only because of the intonation, gestures, posture, accent and contralto voice but also because Pitt was so much involved with Christopher Lee in their career, and the latter is a clear inspiration for Audrey's character.

Cedromar has had a voice claim for some years now:
Particularly chosen because:
  • Manlet, check
  • Beard, check
  • While technically Woodkid is French, he has lived in the USA for so long that his accent is barely noticeable bar from a few mispronounced words and misplaced syllables. This is probably accurate for Cedromar because while fluent in Common and having spoken it for 20 years now, he only started learning it at the age of 14, meaning he always has a slight "foreign" sound to his common speech.

I've always thought Duke Gaspard's voice from DA:I was a very accurate depiction of Jamie's. The gruff accent seems to fit really well with his character's personality.

I always hear Tilda Swinton in regards to Aoibheann Ceallegiah's voice. A clean cut, slightly lower voice that despite being able to drop to a low purr is also able to grow loud and aggressive in a matter of seconds, accompanied by a pleasant accent.

Juliette would most closely resemble the voice of Rapunzel from Tangled

Merina would likely be more like Meredith from Grey's Anatomy

Pellegrino di Zinni's voice claim! He's had this voiceclaim for forever though, mostly because:
  • Deep voice
  • Sounds like he's not quite fluent with English
  • Who I based Pellegrino off of appearance wise

Jonathon Ng is what I view as Lucien's voice claim, just because it sounds right to me. Its the right depth, speed and he has an accent to his words, like Luci does (though Luc's isn't Irish)

Keanu would kind of sound like Ezra Miller with that nasally voice of his. He also looks a bit like him tbqh.
Frejnir would probs sound like Taron Egerton with his Cockney sounding accent.

For Raina's voice claim I can see it being exactly like her face claim's voice, Caitlin Stasey.

Hmm, I don't roleplay anymore, not with any specific characters anyways, but I guess I have some old shelved characters that have some voices that could be addressed anyways for "the lolz"

Stéphan Valeur:
I've always seen him as being a french version of Jeremy Irons, I guess it has something to do with my early roleplay experience with him I thought "Be prepared" from the Lion King was a suitable (and perhaps a bit too ambitious) "character song" for the character, but the idea of Jeremy Irons who sang this sung stuck.

Faustina von Brühl:
This one is a bit tougher, mostly because whenever I've put a voice on her it was to make a funny, way too stereotypical German accent on her, which is not fair or reasonable to an otherwise serious but also to some extend accentsoft character, so while thinking over it I thought I might have heard a good voice for her before and made sure I was correct, and thusly the answer became Angela Merkel.

Fathiyaa Nasir sounds like Vanessa Ives from the Netflix series PennyDreadful, this is a perfect scene that captures what she sounds like when speaking common and what I imagine Fathiyaa sounds like when she's speaking Sofaal.

Jaren has a higher pitched voice-- I wanted to say something along the lines of a young Michael J Fox, but I think Daniel Radcliffe fits quite nicely.

Atticus was actually designed with a specific voice claim in mind. He's got Billy Joel, through and through. Piano man? -u- I think so.

While I know its a nightcore song this is what I imagine my yanar girl, Elliya, sounds like. High pitched and childish but with a heavenly/devilish hint. Also I could imagine her singing and dancing to this song so here ya go~

Seeing as how I based Zaheer heavily off of Joshua I mostly used his voice as well. The voice actor, Keith, has an intense but not ridiculous voice that I really love.

My main, Síladis, is a very mature sounding person. Both in her resting voice and her singing voice. Her voice would be on point with Toni Braxton (2017). And more 2017 Braxton than 1993, since her voice matured greatly in those years, more so than before. But Toni's relaxed voice is so pretty, but it's low and mature.
And Síl definitely has that same tone, though maybe her singing voice is different, probably like Adele's?

I also had one for my half orc, Ulumphamp! She's my baby and I need to play her more, but, she's not fully mature, around 12 or 13 but her voice could probably irritate people to the max. I love it.
It's the same voice for 'Tiffany' In the Chucky movies, and the actress is Jennifer Tilly. It's that voice that seems to purposely piss people off, raspy and baby doll, but I love it. I could have used 'Bonnie's' voice from Family guy, but this is one is much more high pitched, then Bonnie's o3o....Best example I could find x3

I always found that my main, Djanira, would have a voice similar to the Dragon Age Inquisition character Josephine Montilyet. They both share the same accent and speaking patterns. Buuut, her voice would have a bit of a lilt to it. Less regal, sure, but still soft-spoken!

.-〠-.

Macbeth is supposed to be Scottish, yes. However. Fassbender doesn't entirely condone to that, and rather keeps his own sort of tone of things. I like how he sounds, and since I could never find a voiceclaim for Percy, this will do perfectly.

It took me long enough to find a voice claim, but I finally have it. Batou from Ghost in the Shell, deep and powerful, but still kind and forgiving.

Found better Voice refs for both my characters:

Juliette Wodenstaff sounds like Rebecca Liddiard

Merina Taliesin sound like Zoe Boyle
