Here's the Gist
I like to make up lore compliant songs. Drinking songs, shanties, lullabies, battle cries, and family anthems are among the possible uses. The catch is that I have pretty much no recording equipment aside from my phone and laptop mic, so I'm pretty much just here for the 'original concept' side of things, not so much the 'pleasant to listen to' side. I also will be picking and choosing based on what inspires me at the moment, so don't expect to get a song just for filling out the application. The best way to have your song made is to give me something interesting to work with, but sorry I can't guarantee anything and will work in no particular order.
It's really made me happy to see some of the songs I've written in the past being used IC. So for the time being, I don't intend to charge anything for the work. Rather, you can feel free to submit a little application (see below) and if it's something that inspires me, I may turn it into a song. This is just to prevent burnout and make sure it stays fun to do. Plus, I'd like to support IC immersion even for people who can't pay.

Previous Works
(HEADPHONE WARNING: My recording equipment is garbage and it makes the audio quite loud and sometimes jarring. TURN DOWN YOUR VOLUME. You have been warned.)

Song Uses
Anyone is welcome to cover these songs, add accompaniment, or embed them elsewhere. Linking back to this thread is a great way to spread the word about IC songs. If you are interested on working with me, either as a duet or in some other relevant venture, please feel free to ask via this thread or PM. Once a song is linked here you can assume your character knows it. I've seen people humming the melody to a folk song via emote or referencing the lyrics in the tavern, and some families link them in their threads or reference them IC. Make use of them all you want!

Applying for a Song
Applying for a song does not guarantee I will make it. I choose not to charge so that I can be choosy.
NOTICE: Wandering drunken bards have been seen taking respectable families and bastardizing their names via comedic songs. Bringing attention to your family may invite these bards to make fun of your family. But it's ok because it'll rhyme and be catchy.

IMPORTANT: I do not want to make songs purely for the sake of glorifying your family or character. Rather, songs are meant to add immersion to the world. I'd still prefer to write folk songs and tales about your favorite wiki articles, as well as tavern drinking songs or shanties, or long epics about a fictional folk hero you thought would be neat. So if you do want a family or self song, it's going to have to be very enticing. The way to be enticing is to really put in your end of the effort. Think about who wrote it, why they wrote it, who they wanted to hear it, etc. There are so many reasons why a song is made, and also why a song is chosen for an anthem. The United States' National Anthem was written by someone overlooking a battlefield, and was made our anthem later. Do not fall back on "the family hired someone to write it" or you could expect a song as generic and boring as that reason.
I need to know some basic info. You can be vague, but I also like having specific details in mind. It's similar to writing based on a prompt; I may or may not use every detail, but it really helps to kickstart the process.
Song use: This is useful for determining the "type" of song. War marches will be heavily rhythmic (see the Coen song above), whereas drinking songs will be campy and upbeat, and may include verses of nonsense words (see the Bancroft song above). There's also holy songs based on the various religions in lore, and the possibility for any folk song based on the tale of a wiki page (monsters, flowers, myths).
Song feel: Upbeat, soothing, tragic, soft, boisterous, etc. Feel free to ramble about how you want the song to feel. It will make a huge difference in the final product. This will also effect pacing, like how fast or slow the song is, and whether it crescendos or stays soft throughout.
References: This is where you would add detail or link to a wiki page. Think of "The Rains of Castamere" from Game of Thrones. This is based on a historical event, and so it's necessary to have the information about the event before you begin writing. Also include things like what your family is proud of, if you want a family anthem, or any necessary details about life on the sea for a shanty, or geographical details about a country.
Motifs: This is for things like recurring symbolism, such as house sigils. Any recurring theme or symbol you want should be listed here.
Etc: Anything I've left out can be put here. Feel free to go into detail.
Example application: (using the Raven's Call, see above)
Song Use: Family anthem
Song Feel: Strong, bold, gives a feeling of strength in the family, possibly appropriate for military use and family events alike. Steady beat, ascending melody, repetitive verses. (*Note: it's not necessary to list even half of these things. They're all just possibilities that would produce a song like this)
References: https://wiki.massivecraft.com/House_Ravenstad
Motifs: Sigil of a raven, colors red and purple, made prominent by silk trade, traditional values
Etc: N/A
