• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

As a consequence of the global events of Aloria, Regalia itself was undergoing some political changes not in the least initiated by its own nobility. In spite of recent overtures from the Emperor to decentralize authority in the city and the Empire as a whole, some of the nobility had started lobbying for re-centralization, initiated by the Ravenstad Family no less, especially in such dangerous times to ensure Regalia would not be slowed down by unnecessary bureaucracy and people politics. Much of the bureaucratic government of the city itself had already fallen under the Military Governance but the military argued for more intense control over the functioning of the city and its inhabitants. The Emperor thus came forward with a new reform of government law which was to have far reaching consequences.

The first step the Emperor announced was the return of the previously fallen position of Grand (or Arch) Chancellor of Regalia. Some nobles had recently been lobbying to be elected or vouched for others, but the Emperor would set another shocking record as he had done before by electing a woman, Countess Maedelyn Barlowe who was then immediately also elevated to Duchess in Court Rank. The Grand Chancellor would come to have authority over the Regalian Judiciary, the Judges and the law apparatus of the Empire, as well as the White Order, Regalia's inquisition. The Grand Chancellor would continue to have far reaching authority and power projection, being second only to the Emperor in terms of political authority with the ability to make and break laws at will. With the Grand Chancellor back in office, the Privy Council of the Emperor was disbanded and the privileges and rights as well as political offices of the Councilmen was suspended.

The second step the Emperor announced was the creation of the Grand Commander of the Imperial seat, the second authority within the Empire after the Chancellor. The Grand Commander of the Imperial Seat would function as a guardian angel to the Imperial Seat, the Palace, the Imperial Court and the Emperor by directly supervising the Tyrian Order, the White Order and having a protector status over the Sancella of Union all religious individuals and further authority over religious sects and organizations. The Grand Commander's authority would only extend over the direct inhabitants of the State known as the Imperial Seat, but would by extension be able to direct religious and Imperial forces in the Regalian City itself.

The third step the Emperor announced was the further strengthening of the Military Government's power in the Regalian City itself. The Prince Marshal, Cedric Kade, was given further extensive authority within the city to operate with an iron fist and word of law. Placed under his authority would be the Violet Order Council, which had simultaneously also been purged of all members and now opened itself to new position allocation. The Violet Order, the Regalian Bureaucracy and the Azure Order would further be placed under the Prince Marshal, as well as the Grand Marshal and the Grand Admiral with the extended armed forces at their fingertips.

With extended authority, the Prince Marshal decreed a controversial new law in the Regalian Archipelago, using a bureaucratic loophole to dictate a law outside of the Regalian city's sphere of influence. The law decreed was that all castles belonging to noble families within the non-Military zone or non-strategic value zone were to be dismantled (with appropriate compensation for estate losses to the nobles) and the stonework and materials to be re-used to strengthen forts around the fringes and borderlands of the Archipelago. With this law in place, and despite protests from various families, dozens of castles in lands ranging from Anglia, Calemberg, Montania, Vixhall and especially Dragenthal were dismantled in favor of building up border forts along the southern and eastern borders of the Archipelago. Further materials were used to allocate temporary fortifications in the north to house the influx of Nordskag mercenaries and soldiers that were stuck in Regalia after the global events cut them off from their homeland. While some noble families threatened to debase the Imperial authority in their lands for stripping their castle rights, none of them were able to act due to the swift allocation of troops around the Archipelago. The Prince Marshal enforced his strategic redevelopment reform by force of the military soldiers, sometimes even using the noble's own levy soldiers against them to enforce the breakdown of the castles. The common folk was surprisingly pliable to the idea, given that castles had often been used to either intimidate or keep the common people in line with status rule. Without the castles, the nobility would be considerably more vulnerable to both Imperial Authority as well as pressure from the commoners to continue their conscientious rule justly.

Back in Regalia however, political backlash was severe. Especially members of the Jingoist lobby heavily criticized the Prince Marshal's reform as a pointless defensive tactic and a backtracking of military armaments and progress of the past decades. The Conservatives shared themselves behind the Prince Marshal, favoring a more strengthened defense to ensure Regalia would never again fall to foreign invasion. The centrists were concerned, but tended to float a lot on their opinions as their political spectrum was ever fractured, while the Liberals heralded the demilitarization of the central lands as a sign of progress.

With the chances in place, the political scene of Regalia was again going to shuffle to establish a new hierarchy, and many would speculate as to what this hierarchy would look like. How would the Ravenstads respond to being placed out of their desired position by the Barlowe's? How would the Coen's respond to the Prince Marshal dismantling all castles in the central region, even if it meant they would receive more castles in the long run? How would the Martinez and d'Eluise use this changed political landscape to reverse their misfortunes? Would any newcomers rise to the forefront like Durant, le Seur or Santorski? And how would the Sorenvik family respond to their lack of power projection despite the fact that the vast northern territories were now filled with their Nordskag kinsmen and Prince, poised to strike out and make glory and fame to their name? Or maybe one of the baronial families would strike glory and honor and become the new Grand Commander or personal advisers of the Grand Chancellor or the Prince Marshal? All remained to be seen.

With the Empire completing its internal restructure, the Emperor was now confident focus could shift from within to without and planning commenced on how to best reconnect and reconquer the lands lost to the bone horrors.

OOC Explanations and Legend:
  • The Political landscape of Regalia has been shuffled. This affects both nobles and commoners, but nobles more-so.
New Offices have been created that can be filled by anyone of any gender, race, age, political and social standing or past actions.
  • Flowchart of the Regalian hierarchy is showcased below, Legend follows beneath the Image for further information.

  • The Emperor of the Regalian Empire is the supreme ruler of all Regalian assets.
  • The Prince Marshal of the City of Regalia is the ruler of the City of Regalia, subservient to the Emperor. This position is held by the Emperor's brother, Cedric Kade.
  • The Grand Commander of the Imperial Seat is the ruler of the State of the Imperial Seat, subservient to the Emperor. This position is currently open and the Emperor is recruiting.
  • The Grand Chancellor of the Regalian Empire is the supreme ruler of the Regalian Empire and second only to the Emperor in power. This position is held by Duchess Maedelyn Barlowe.
  • All above squares marked in green are organizations.
  • All above squares marked in light red are NPC's.
  • All above hectagons marked in red are extended organizations.
  • All above squares (either diagonal or vertical) marked in blue are political offices which players can attain.
  • Recruitment for the player held political offices is entirely done In-game and In-Character by the respective individuals. (Prince Marshal for example recruits his own advisors and the Violet Order Council members).
  • There are no limitations to who or what can attain any political title with the exception of the Grand Commander's position, which is only allotted to a Male Noble title holder. That being said, it is very unlikely that a Tigran for example would become the personal advisor of the Grand Chancellor unless something special happened.
  • The highest in-roleplay authorities anyone can run into are the Prince Marshal (basically the Mayor of Regalia) and the Grand Chancellor (basically the president of the Empire). These people have authority over the city's Guard, Law, they can condemn and pardon people, evict and recompense, treat them as such. Try to assassinate them? Get hired by them as guard? Become their spies? Try to seduce them? Try to blackmail them? Become their friend? Try to work with them or against them? The options are open to everyone.
Any further questions about the government can be asked below. Be sure to tag me if you have any and avoid the Lore Q&A about this subject for now.

bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssss

Or maybe one of the baronial families would strike glory and honor and become the new Grand Commander or personal advisers of the Grand Chancellor or the Prince Marshal? All remained to be seen.

Would this realistically be possible?

The Azure Order, Tyrian Order and White Order are all organizations to hold new purposes and be filled with players, then?

It feels so strange being the only none noble in a position of authority.

Iona of Basta, a woman and an orphan with no house, is a Guard Commander, if she can do it, anyone can.

She's also very proud of her Iranian heritage if you know what I mean...

I totally do not think that @Shayin should take up this role with Reval'quess... Not at all... ¬.¬
Yeah, he totally won't, since he's in stasis because of the Opiraz, which tore the Exist energies out of his body, putting him in some sort of coma. Or at least, something along those lines. :^ )
