• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

Thanks to a few genius people, I stumbled across this mod here:

http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1122495-151-more-player-models/

This Mod allows you to have more Player Models (like ork, elves, dwarf, naga ect.) to be visible to others without any server-side involvement.
Don't believe me? I'll show you:
mpmss.png

When used correctly, everyone who uses this mod can see these player models of anyone else, who is using the mod.
In my eyes, this improves the visual experience of roleplay a lot with little effort.

That's why I am starting the community initiative for the usage of this mod.

How to use this correctly:
Follow the guides on the mods post first, if you want to make your skin ready please follow the basic skinning guide on here.
http://www.kodevelopment.nl/minecraft/moremodels/basic

There, you can also take a look at all the models and a nice video of how to correctly use this mod. ;)

What are the advantages if multiple people use it?
If most people are using this mod, our roleplay enviroment will be extended and thus better than before. The new models can help you come intouch with roleplay and make it more visual, what exactly you want to do/play as.
It gives us all the feeling of a better enviroment.

FAQ:
Q: What do I have to modifie my .minecraft with to make this mod usable?
A: You have to install modloader and put this mods jar into the mods folder.
Follow the instructions on the page that I linked you to up there. ;)

Q: How do I make my player model visible for everyone?
A: The system is based on a color code on your skin png. ;)
Follow the instructions on the basic skinning guide that I linked in the other spoiler and opload your modified skin to minecraft.net.

Q: I have read the instruction of the basic skining guide, I still don't get it. Could you please modifie it for me?
A: No, please ask this awesome man here: http://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/mpm-skin-requests.5644/

Q: Can we please have the bukkit-plugin so other people see my emotes?
A: Maybe, but unlikely. I will ask cayorion for it.

Anything to add? Please leave your name down here if you support it. I will put your name in a spoiler then, so everyone can see who is using it ;)

Also look at this thread if you are too lazy to edit your skin yourself: http://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/mpm-skin-requests.5644/

So yeah, please us it.

This looks awesome! Do you need to install this mod in a specific or unusual way? If so can someone please give me a link to a guide? Thank you!

If the MassiveCraft staff support it in general, we should ask the mod maker to include the races from our server as models, since that would improve the experience even more!

I didn't said the administration team does support it (yet), but this is a community initiative.
But yeah, we maybe should. He did cover:
  • Naga
  • wolf/cats
  • human
  • orc
  • elven
  • dragons (agni maybe)
already, so yeah, why not asking him ;)

Ulu, you can post my screenshots of my looking like a draconian on massivecraft, I posted them in general.

I might actually consider trying to use this mod, it would be my first mod ever. :P

I'll have to work on installing this when I get back from work, or whenever I have time.

Change of height makes it harder to see their hit box in pvp, Gives dwarves an advantage when fighting archers.

I myself won't make a skin for this, as the default model covers my Yanar skin quite well, and I don't see how this would improve it. However, this is AMAZING and I will download it ASAP. I support![DOUBLEPOST=1364534543,1364534479][/DOUBLEPOST]

I suppose. It's a slight imbalance, but if you aren't willing to tolerate it then just simply don't get the mod. :/ I am willing to let dwarves have this one.[DOUBLEPOST=1364534675][/DOUBLEPOST]I'm curious, though, to see how some of these models look like holding tools like swords, and how they look in armor. I can't download it yet, don't really have time atm, could someone do me the courtesy of posting screenshots of the models in armor? In the meantime I will search links for it, in case I missed it.
Another thing. This mod makes me giddy with joy, but at the same time it kind of scares me. It is that scared feeling I got when I heard about minecraft beta 1.8, and all the amazing changes it would bring, like the foodbar and sprinting. I was happy, but also kind of scared. Someone tell me I'm not crazy 0.0

I'm using it. Will take a while to do new skins for the family.

btw. there are zombies, skeletons, and wraiths, so there are definitely undead, listed under monster in the examples. I intend to do a new skin for agni using the naga base (the tail just works for me when I think of swimming).

Update - Was able to make a human male and human female, item on back, no helmet (the no helmet option is texture pack dependent, it works with the default texture pack, but not with the massivecraft tp), and claws part of mod do not appear to work. I was not able to make a player based on the naga form, don't know if it is a problem with the mod, the directions, or persistent user error.

Found the error with the naga skins. The color codes should be 80ff00 and 808000, the numbers are reversed in the skinning guide.

Sweet, I'm downloading this asap. Also, to make sure everyone uses t, we should have this file on the MassuveCraft webpage for people o download, It should come with Optifine ans this mod, ans they could add the rest of what they prefer.

As for the team;
We never make things a must have, only nice to have. Optifine gives us nice connected textures, but isn't really needed. Eitherway, I have to discuss with the other team-members first (before we can put that on the webside underneath optifine).
Btw, I will also turn this post into a more detailed guide and center of information.

As for the mod-pack:
Massivecraft will not distribute a modified .mineraft since it is technically illegal. So there will be none that appears on the website, no. Xyaj has started one though and yeah this mod should really be part of it ;)[DOUBLEPOST=1364555135,1364553919][/DOUBLEPOST]
Do you have to use/make special skins for it?
Yeah, you must include a color-code in your skin. Read the basic skinning guide that is linked in a spoiler.

You aren't crazy. For the armour question, the armour get wrapped around the new moddel, it looks very well (Did try it out already).[DOUBLEPOST=1364555347][/DOUBLEPOST]
Is it compatible with MagicLauncher?
Yes, but modloader still required.

An advantage, but not an unfair one. Elves per example are taller than usual, a cool and only RP ish advantage. And tbh, even if you want to hide as a normal human, it is very possible.

I'm thinking that if it makes hitboxes smaller, then dwarves could make halfslabhalf slab tunnels that only they could access. That would be very amusing.

I don't know if I will get a skin for this myself, at least not at this time.

but I will install it so I can see other peoples skins.

You can check my post in General, it has me in a skin wearing armor and stuff.

i use it, it also allows you to wear items on you back (XD SWORDS) to those of you who dont know tho, it also allows other RP aspects as well, such as being able to lay down, sit anywhere, and even dance, tho you have to be careful which one and how you install it otherwise it wont work properly.

Thanks. I have just installed this, :).[DOUBLEPOST=1364797468,1364797216][/DOUBLEPOST]
To me, it seems the floating ghost like creature would fit the Undead race quite well.
** EDIT ** After I installed and played on the server it had given me a noticable amount of lag... Not client-side FPS lag; lag where after I logged on or teleported it took around 1 minute before I could do anything.

You need the plugin for that though.
