• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

Unless ZakkPena wants things hush hush, I'd love server opinions as I come up with ideas for Machinum. So here's what I've got so far.
A very small section of city wall, at a corner piece, with a tower.

And I'll either add to this as I get more concepts complete enough to show, or take it down if the boss yells at me xD

Also like to mention this was built with the help of Cinders

And concept of the main avenue is ready I think. Caught between iron or brick for the overhead rail. Though I'm aware the iron will be darker in MassiveTP than mine, it looks bland and I'm not sure what to do about it. As was mentioned in one of our recruiting threads (I think) our streets will have foot/cart/car paths, raised rail ways, canals (for those who love water) and underground lava canals (for those who die from water). This is me coming up with ideas for all of those except the lava canal, I'll get to that later. This is also just the main avenue. Side streets will only be 1 chunk wide. Alleys will likely be even smaller.

Those look great, Julianne - I don't mind sharing with the public and getting new ideas =]

That's a great looking tower, and I can visualize already how cool that would look at the corner of a similarly-styled wall, which also houses plenty of Cinder's turrets.

I'm more happy with the brick overhead rail for the main street, mainly because of the MassiveCraft texture pack and how that makes iron blocks look. I do like the contrast between the rail and the brick lining on the ground, though, so I get where that came from.

Maybe we could try nether quartz brick? It might look a little too Greek, but if we accented it with stone or brick, it might come out okay. I'll try to gather more clay and iron today - I have some things to do later at night but I'll try to get to my clocktower test build soon.

Quartz brick in place of what exactly? The stone brick arches? Or the Clay brick? Or in column form replacing the iron?

Also for the clock tower, I'm not sure what you were planning for the top part, but I was thinking the bottom should almost be open, like the Eifle tower, and it'd have a fountain underneath where the waterway comes out, then splits to head off in different directions. And a raised rail station above that where the rails do the same.
They could do the same thing inside of a tower instead of under a hollowed out one, but that's just what I was thinking.

ELtongo, I'm just going to put all the pictures I've gathered in here. Julianne is leading the build, so you can ask me or her for more information.

i like this.. you should go to youtube and search for some of the steampunk buildings there related to minecraft. i built a couple on my single player. By the way. to make it clear. im a bit innactive now due some work issues. anything you need add me on skype and make a group for us to talk. eltongomariachi

Wow, I never noticed how well white stone and red rooftops actually works for this. Sadly MC doesn't have white stone bricks... at lest not of that quality. Ik Massive's TP makes stone brick white'ish but they're very low quality bricks, very round and crumbly, which isn't what we'd want. Maybe quartz would work? It would have to be reserved for very important buildings of course.

Welp, we officially found our clock then xD
How much space is that going to need? I was originally planning on the clock fitting into a 2x2 chunk area, but I get up to a 4x4 chunk if needed. Possibly a little more than that.

Yeah that clock's amazing and it would be even better if we could fit it into a 2x2 chunk area. I could personally sacrifice the a.m. or p.m. bit to fit it into the space we want, but as per usual, you guys are the master architects =] if a 4x4 chunk isn't too great of a plaza for you then it's perfect for me.

Here are a few other links to ideas (not clocks - that one you found is perfect gsman) - just in case anybody wants any:

tell me what you need me to build. I cleared a bit of the land yesterday. not much but while i had a break from irl work i tried to clear it =)

I plan on adding redstone and noteblock songs into our faction base such as secrets - one republic, Custome loops, Demons, and more.

We gotta vote on those songs, gsman lol I personally wouldn't want secrets by one republic playing on a loop anywhere

These Songs Were Simple So I Decided To Go With trying this out, i had never done noteblock songs before. Now I am Obsessed with them...

Airship Designs, More of a Cruise Ship. Texture pack helped me get great pictures... 2013-09-20_22.58.08.png 2013-09-20_22.58.29.png 2013-09-20_22.59.43.png

Btw Not My Design On This One, I tried and failed on the blimp so i looked one up. I just have way cooler pictures. Link: http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/the-dawntreader---steampunk-airship/

Also I would not implement this design exactly like it is into the game i would keep mainly the shape, probably change the tail around and the interior...

Didn't say they didn't make sense lol, just that they look bland.
We should see how they look over brick though, since large portions of the city will be made of it.
And may I suggest comparing Gold/Brass+Steel as well?
Or we could be really crazy and do Glass and Steel.
Or we could checkerboard black and white (or w.e you used for steel) and do Coal and Steel.

Seems a bit difficult but i will try my best, its easier to do songs with notes and less electronic sounds, because with notes i can tune the note blocks to that note. Like string, brass, and other instruments.

Ok, very basic and unfinished housing idea

2013-09-24_02.17.24.png

Since I don't have a good shot of the good ones I did on the old creative server I used to use.

And a few good shots of my idea for some of the more wealthy homes.

Of course none of this has been punked at all. As I've said, that'll happen later.

I'm also thinking the first couple buildings I'll put up will be 1x2 chunk apartments, housing two people each. Since housing is at a premium atm we might as well squeeze people in. We'll get bigger homes and bigger apartments when he have more room.

Also we'll need to start stockpiling large amounts of cooked clay now for the second+ floors of homes. Or wool.

Idea for the center of the bridge I whipped up the other night at work.
Basically the London Bridge.

That way RP wise or what not it'd be able to raise up high enough for ships to pass underneath.

Btw, took some of those colors (and added one of my own) for the flag.

Blood and Steel (Might not work well as it could give off a militaristic look)
Brass and Steel (Still not a fan of brown for brass)
Coal and Steel (Might be a tad boring)
Earth and Steel (Or Grass and Steel, probably only works if we actually have a good amount of greenery and parks)
