From the Desk of Abelhard Petrou, first and last of his name, Grand Duke of Athos and Thessalo, Cantor of the Evintarin Church
4/28/309 AC

We have heard you. We have given ample warning. And now, we give you, Duke Slumberwood, and Patriarch of House Vyzal a final ultimatum.

The Terms
  1. Cease your occupation of the Duchy of Lugenweitz.
  2. Enable the Clergy of your lands to return to their holdings, and pay for all damages caused by your caustic rhetoric.
  3. Allow the Evintarin and Sancellian Clergy of Slumberwood provinces to enact canon law and hold power to legislate.
  4. Take a walk of shame through the Regalian Capital, kowtowing from the Mainstreet to the Altar of the Regalian Cathedral, and repent for your sins.
If you do not comply to these terms by the end of the month, I, Abelhard Petrou, will raise the banners of my provinces, mobilize the Engineers of the Citadel of Proagogi, and open the sails of my fleet, and march upon Rumvalia, putting down all resistance in an act of war. All that lay down their arms will be spared, and the Lords of your land who remained faithful and protected the Clergy, and refused your request to mobilize, will be given a seat to negotiate more dire terms, to their own benefit, in an effort to curb your wanton degradation of the fibre of the law of your land, and anarchistic tendencies. We will not raze your capital, and Ailor life will be preserved as best as we can do so. But you will be punished. Furthermore, consider the Farlands Pact dissolved, on the basis that you have gone rogue, and the spiritual absolution of your subjects is far more important than a piece of paper which was signed under the obligation that neither of us would become unholy tyrants.

This is your last chance, before we declare Bellum Sacrum, a holy war.
Signed, Abelhard Petrou,
Grand Duke of Athos and Thessalo,
Cantor of The Evintarin Church,
Division-Admiral of the Regalian Navy,

A swift response to the declaration was published on noticeboards Empirewide, straight from the Regalian Judiciary
---

"The Judiciary would like to take this time to remind the Nobility that Treaties are legally enforceable against those who breach them and that to dissolve a treaty before its legal end date is not permitted unless both parties agree to such."

Stamped and officiated by Gertrude Bergenstein,
Secretary to the Grand Justicar Prince Rodderick Howlester
