• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

I know the race has only just been removed- but, this creates good discussions- so, two simple questions:

1. Why do you think the Thylan were removed? Rather than just, left alone, or re-written?
2. What do you think will replace the Thylans? If anything at all?

I'm sure this removal upset a lot of people- but this is pure discussion, so please keep salt out of the thread~

Personally- I'm hoping for bird people to replace the Thylan- I know Avarr existed before, but they were removed before, Or maybe even a rodent based race? That'd be neat- and I mean, not Klein, actual rats, or squirrels, etc.

Wasn't sure where else to put this thread, rip.

1. Why do you think the Thylan were removed? Rather than just, left alone, or re-written?

Well, Seeing as they're still available in the background of the lore - just unplayable at the moment might mean that they may acknowledge interested has dimmed in contrast to that of Say Nelfin, Ailor or even Qadir characters. Note however, They did not remove them outright and instead allowed them to stay in the background of lore - so I'd guess that they also see that there's nothing new with them or nothing really that they can contribute to roleplay (At least, I think so) at this current time. E.g. There's no large lore events that could be based Solely around the Thylan, like there is now the events based around the Deathlings that would include a variety of characters and still peak the player bases interest. So I'd presume, noting this is all based off my own knowledge which may or may not be correct and of course my own opinions - that there's nothing really new that they're able to do with them and as such they made them unplayable to remove the problem of updating them, seeing as they are busy more or less all of the time now I'd say they don't have time to put into what could be seen as a "Dead Race" if they could otherwise improve the more commonly played races like I previously mentioned. Though, I could be wrong in some of this. Just my two cents.

(Also, Seeing as Ur weren't removed. It could also be possible that Thylan are unoriginal in the lore or just don't bring anything really new to it. Seeing as the new Kleinfolk are more beast-like whilst retaining more human in a sense. And the Ur are more beasts than the Klein, giving them an original place in the lore. However the Thylan are more like the Kleinfolk, in the sense that they're trying to merge human and beast-like ideas in one race. The deciding factor on which was removed being the playerbase? - Or even since just more work and interest on the staff's behalf was put into the Klein.)

2. What do you think will replace the Thylans? If anything at all?

If they've chosen to remove them, they I'd say there's no much hope that anything will replace them - however that's not to say a new race won't come out in the future, just that they may not have intentions to specifically make one or rework Thylans to replace the older concept. In a way, The new Kleinfolk have already replaced Thylans from what I've seen - as they're more currently played and beast-like whilst retaining some more humanoid features (Like d'Ur.)

bird people to replace the Thylan
I'd agree it'd be nice. Though I think Avarr were removed because they couldn't balance the new concept with the Op-Height/Strength build they were going for - and it was too easy to abuse for inexperienced players with the race. Or. I think that's the case.

Dank Meme Disclaimer:
All of the above is my own opinion, I do not have any further knowledge than that available to the common player and as such do not intend to speak on behalf of the staff and such in this. Anything related to such is purely coincidental - Always read the Label. dunt hurt ma gois.

There will be no further discussion on the matter of Thylans. Locked.
