- Will the conflict be resolved diplomatically?
- How can the Daen people know that their best interests will be considered by the assigned diplomat?
- Will the conflict be resolved militarily?
- Who is fighting the wars for the continued alignment of the Daen city-states with the Regalian Empire?
There are questions of diplomacy which I cannot speak to at this time, but I can raise the legitimate question of the Daen city-state's capacity to fight in another war. Though the motivation of my people to remain independent from the Second Allorn Empire, and fight back against the bonds of slavery we liberated ourselves from so long ago, cannot be questioned, the truth remains that Daendroque people currently suffer from a generation of fatherless men who were lost to Ranger Crisis, Anahera Coup, the Bone Horror Crisis, and the Long Elven War.
Therefore, it is important to ask ourselves: can the Daendroque people truly be expected to fight for their own freedom from the Second Allorn Empire?
With the Daendroque culture having been at some point banned from the Imperial Courts, and with the absence of Regalian central support throughout the Avanthar raids of the Long Elven War, how can the Daendroque be sure that their culture will not be closer to extinction if more of their people perish at the hands of the Second Allorn Empire? Further, how can the Daendroque have faith that the events of the Long Elven War will not be repeated?
The political questions remain relevant to the current situation. However, there are also many social questions that remain relevant. Considering the downfall of the Daendroque people's city-states that the Fatherless Generation encounters, it is important to have a plan for how these issues should be addressed. Therefore, I present my preliminary plan as follows:
- Fatherless or orphaned children under the age of 16 should be housed at either an orphanage or assigned to a new foster family, who shall be awarded a tax break for their charity. If no orphanages exist, they shall be built.
- Fatherless children under the age of 19 should be given priority in employment. If qualifications are not met, fatherless children under the age of 19 should be mentored by skilled workers in the Daen city-states via an apprenticeship. Businesses that comply shall be awarded a tax break for their charity.
- Other Daendroque, Girobaldan businesses that create jobs in the Daen city-states should be awarded tax breaks for their part in combating colonial unemployment.
- There shall be a stronger emphasis on the restoration of damaged public resources such as government buildings and roads, in order to create jobs in construction and stimulate the markets.
- A bank shall be established for qualified rural businesses that were affected by the civil war and Avanthar raids to receive loans in order to promote self-employment and revive the Daen economy.
I strongly encourage the Regalian citizenry to debate this matter in its entirety so that more comprehensive solutions can be enacted upon the selection of the next Lord Chancellor.
Spirit Bless,
