Design & Theme
The Jury is not defined by geography but by motion. It is a nomadic ranching faction composed of riders, herders, cooks, and scouts whose existence depends on seasonal migration and environmental awareness. The Jury draws strength from the fringes. Its members include fugitives, exiles, dreamers, and others for whom the dominant social order provided no refuge. Inherited status holds little weight within the Jury. Social esteem is derived from consistent, purposeful labor. Recognition emerges through visible contribution, and justice is conceptualized as a collective framework of reciprocal responsibility and mutual accountability.
Amal cultural practices persist as living traditions, articulated through oral storytelling, shared musical forms, and the ceremonial integration of labor. Within the Jury, cultural memory is embedded in material routines: the condition of a saddle, the rhythm of a trail song, or the tacit rules governing equestrian contests. These patterns encode identity in an unstable world. Hints of older ritual frameworks surface occasionally through quiet observances or group practices that carry meanings left unspoken.

Attire among the Jury is functional but indiviual. Practical garments such as coats, scarves, layered wool and hide are given depth with personal markers. Colored ribbons, inherited objects, or stitched inscriptions signal roam, aspiration, or affiliation. These individualized modifications articulate identity without uniformity.
Beyond the chosen Roam there are no archetypes within the Jury, only preferences. One might tend to drakes, repair tools, monitor weather patterns, or teach children. All forms of labor are essential. Participation in Jury life enables members to construct a shared narrative while redefining their individual place within it.

Businesses
The Jury sustains itself through the herding and trade of livestock, including both conventional cattle and wyverns. These drakes are bred and maintained like cattle, though their temperament and danger elevate the technical demands of their care. Most cows are raised primarily as feedstock for the drakes, with those not turned to food being sold off in the end. Drake handling is a respected, high-risk occupation. Well-trained drakes serve as trade goods, transportation, and defensive assets.

Rural Rumours
The Jury likes to make up quite the stories to put fear into the urban folk, this is a growing collection of some of them.
"The Silent Huntsman"
The biggest and most awful spider that isn't trapped on Drowda is the Silent Huntsman Spider, a nocturnal predator with more cunning than the average fox and more vigilant than the night's owl. The Silent Huntsman isn't seen frequently, but many know it's voracity as it goes after large animals-- especially cattle, where they leave them husks in the morning out in a field. They're said to be black furred and with bright, giant eyes that reflect in the dark, likely to help with seeing objects at night and especially out on a open field or prairie where their prey is best sighted above the grassline.
It's terrifying skill however comes from after it finds it's prey, wether a lone cattle or a man on a walk, it'll find a spindly tree or other high surface to climb and will spread a web across it's many legs to glide not unlike a owl would. And with precision granted by it's many eyes it'll land right on top of whatever is unlucky and leave the unfortunate behind for the morning. The only real weakness of it is light, shining a bright torch in it's eyes will scare it away with a terrifying screech and scuttle away in the dark. The best thing for anyone traveling at night in an open field, is to be vigilant with a bright light at the ready, to keep the Huntsman from taking it's shot on one of your animals-- or worse, on you.
