• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

  1. Introduction: The Golden Gauntlet is a House Guard Charter, mandated with the protection of House del Puente and its assets, but also, all Daendroquen who would consider themselves loyal to The Noble-Republic of Regalia. The Gauntlet holds the following rights:
  • Rights to wear A cuirass/chest-plate of plate armor of any kind (arms/neck/head may not be armored)
  • Rights to wear a chain-mail skirt/hip-guard, no further armor (legs/feet may not be armored)
  • The right to bear weapons in open carry, but not military grade
  • The right to defend any member of a Noble household from aggression
  • The right to perform citizen arrests on attackers against said Nobles
  • The right to transfer citizen arrests to City Guard Authorities

House del Puente prides itself on a lawful, and organised guard force, and as such - breaking any of these State enforced codes will result in a termination from The Golden Gauntlets. Beyond this, membership in The Gauntlets isn't without perks, including but not limited to: honourary titular holdings, weapons, and familiar influence.

"The Daen people will thank us verily. When the Gauntlet of The Anahera reaches its decay, they will need a new one. One of gold." - Fernando IV, 290AC.

II. History: 'The Golden Gauntlet of St. Amelotte' or, The Golden Gauntlet for short, was formed by Fernando IV during the summer of 290AC., replacing The del Puente 'Guardia de Honor' which was a largely Ithanianised ceremonial force instated by his predecessors. The Golden Gauntlet was not only a measure to hamper any harm which might fall upon House del Puente, but a means to protect its peoples. As Fernando IV reached the end of his rule, it was decreed also, that The Gauntlet would protect all The Daen people, should they be loyal to The Spirit and Empire: for, they were all his family, through the joint pains of their ancestors.

Indeed, when Fernando stood down from his title, handing it down to his 1st born, Cesare I, The Gauntlet was a flourishing institution. Cesare reformed minor details to his own liking, including, the removal of some of the more ceremonial armaments from the daily equipment of Gauntlet levies. Other than this, The Gauntlet has more or less remained the same, from its birth nearly a decade ago. The Guard is built upon layers of Daendroquen tradition, and, will likely remain so as long as House del Puente has anything to say about it.

"Should they ride against us - in numbers strong -, we will rise like The Lions of Daen. The fruit of their loins for generations to come, will scream in agony at their fathers defeat." - Augusto del Puente, 297AC.

III. Ranking: The Golden Gauntlet holds a rigid and heavily traditional structure, dating to a time prior to its forming. The leadership consists of a Marshal Supremo and a Captain de la Guardia, who alternate between leadership according to war and peace time (war for the prior, peace for the latter). In addition, there are a number of other rankings, along with honorary titular holdings.

General Officers:
Head Officers, or GOs (Called "Joes" humorously by underlings), are the top brass of the Golden Gauntlet. Either directly or indirectly, these men have the highest say in everything, controlling the direction of the guard.
  • Patriarca (Patriarch): The Patriarch is the technical head of the entire house guard, but doesn't tend to interact with its training or oversee it's recruitment too heavily. Rather, he is the de facto head of the entire Golden Gauntlet, and acts as its most supreme and highest ranking authority. However, most duties are delegated down the chain of command. All orders from the Patriarch are to be obeyed and respected above all others, even a guard's direct CO. It is unlikely the patriarch would issue any commands at any normal time, however.
  • Mariscal Supremo (Supreme Marshal): The Supreme Marshal is the commander of the del Puente levies and armies, and as such holds a say in the running of The Golden Gauntlet. The Marshal maintains direct rule over The Gauntlet in times of war, and as such, whenever Regalia finds itself in direct conflict, The Marshal may order The Gauntlets as he sees fit. Most actions will however be reserved for The Captain of the Guard to enact as he sees fit. In times of peace, The Marshal turns over the running of The Gauntlet to the sitting Captain of the Guard.
  • Capitán de la Guardia (Captain of the Guard): The Captain of the Guard is the de jure leader of The Gauntlet of St. Amelotte, and as such holds the power of leadership in most cases. The Captain answers to The Patriarch of house del Puente, and The Supreme Marshal (in times of war). In peacetime, the Captain is permitted to order his men in a way he sees fitting, in order to protect House del Puente.
Commanding Officers: Commanding Officers, or COs, are the overseers of the Golden Gauntlet in a more direct manner. These men and women control how the guard operates, and are the usual ones to issue commands and orders. Usually people reach this rank through work and promotion, but some Officers are fast-tracked to their position through sheer qualification (Typically Battle Command, Commanding Speech, etc. Leadership Proficiencies) or by their rank in the nobility and/or government/military.
  • Teniente Comandante (Lieutenant Commander): The Lieutenant Commander is charged with the leadership of The Gauntlet in the absence of either The Marshal or Captain. The Lieutenant Commander holds reigns over his fellow officers, and those of the rank and file, and is permitted to lead men.
  • Cabo Mayor (Corporal Major): The Corporal Major doesn't technically rank much higher than the Corporals. In reality, the Corporal Major is merely the Junior officer to the Lieutenant Commander, and will assist him/her in relevant duties, as well as replace him/her when the latter is absent. Likewise, the Cabo Mayor is the heir presumptive to the Lieutenant Commander's position. Like all Corporals, he/she is entitled to oversee small squads, but rarely differs in authority from their underlings unless a situation calls for it. In Castro Carcel, this position holds more weight among the enlisted soldiers, as they tend to oversee a group of Corporals in the Lieutenant Commander's stead, but in the city, the House Guard simply is not expected to be big enough to need the Cabo Mayor to perform this duty.
  • Cabo Primero (Corporal): The Corporals are the minor officers of the Gauntlet's hierarchy. The report directly to the Lieutenant Commander, and are in charge of overseeing small squads in relevant circumstances. In Castro Carcel, Corporals take charge of individual "Companies", which are listed by a relevant callsign. These Companies are no larger than 5 Enlistees. In the city, this duty is not expected to be carried out, as the House Guard is not expected to be large enough to facilitate a need for it. Rather, Corporals take a more fluid approach, and simply act as overseers to the Enlisted Goldens.
Enlisted: Enlisted men and women are the foot soldiers of the Goldens.
  • Soldado de Primera (Private First Class): Private First Classmen hold literally no executive authority within the ranking of the Golden Gauntlet. Rather, these men/women are simply distinguished as well-performing and diligent guardsmen who do their jobs better and with more initiative. Despite having no literal other duties than the Enlistees, these P.F.C.'s receive higher pay and better treatment from their superiors, and typical get slated for future promotion.
  • Soldados (Privates): The Privates are the bottom of the food chain in the Golden Gauntlet. These men and women carry out the bulk of the duties, and are the tip of the spear. When first getting accepted, if not fast-tracked to an officer position, this is the rank assigned, and are colloquially called "Goldens" by most.

III-A. Honorary Titles: These titles often confer an acreage of land within a del Puente holding, along with the local title go along with said land. These petty-aristocrats of del Puente lands are oft chosen from fine warriors among The Golden Gauntlet of St. Amelotte.

  • Castellano de San-Juan (Castilian of San-Juan): Castillo San-Juan is a quaint Daendroquen fort, laying on the coastline of Castro Carcel. It was originally built with the purpose of deterring coastal invasion, however, has recently been demilitarised. The keep stands as a wealthy estate in 306AC., surrounded by a number of orange groves and apple orchards. While tax revenue from this land is taken directly by del Puente tax-collectors, The Castilian is afforded a monthly budget, of which they may spend to their liking.

"The Rank does not confer you power, nor does it give you domain over your fellow man. No. It is a burden to carry: like St. Saltá holding the world upon his shoulders." - Felipe III , 260AC.

IV. Glorious Deeds: Within The 'Crónicas de gloria' or The 'Chronicles of Glory' lay all the written deeds of The Golden Gauntlet of St. Amelotte. These deeds can be performed by individuals, or, by the organisation as a whole. They written for all to view, and, to have one's name written in The Chronicles is viewed as a great deed by House del Puente.
  • Spring 298AC: The Gauntlet saves an apple orchard from a brutal bandit raid, and protects the bountiful harvest for the San Vélen people.
