A short poem would be pinned around town, marked with the title
The Charcoal Chapters Volume 1: Regalian Iron.
The Charcoal Chapters Volume 1: Regalian Iron.
The lifeblood of a nation,
It's steadfast strong foundation,
Never yielding to the coming storms
We all know they can take it.
From the depths to the sky
Every threat has come and fallen,
You can see it in their eyes
The light to fight away their fears.
Every day is made for seizing
And that's what will be done,
Whether blistering or freezing
The battles will be won.
So stand up one and all
For together we're much stronger,
Light the flames within your hearts
And never let them falter.
It may not make up weapons and it may not make up armor,
But the city can't exist without
Strong Regalian Iron.
So when the fires light again
Stoke them with your souls,
May the flames burn hotter still
Than a hundred million coals.
And if the light does fade
Not a tear should be shed,
It would do no service
For the blood the iron's bled.
So never stray from a challenge
Even if it leads to the pyre,
For there's nothing tougher in the world
Than strong Regalian Iron.
