The Artisan Directory​

The Grand Curator seeks to acquire exceptional items for display in the Imperial Palace. Some of these items will showcase the talent of the Empire's most skilled artisans. As such, the Grand Curator is seeking to draft a directory of artisans located within the Crown City. These artisans will be offered personal invitations from time to time, to compete for commissions from the Grand Curator for their crafts.

Any and all law-abiding artisans are free, and encouraged, to register their details for future consideration for commissions, by filling out a form, below.

Note that any commissions ever purchased for display within the Imperial Palace, will be accompanied by a nameplate, stating the name and details of the artisan responsible for the work. Commissioned artisans will also be invited to the Palace to view their items on display during special unveiling events, by invitation of the Grand Curator.

Out of curiosity, how would this work OOCly? Would players actually create something OOC and share pictures, or figure out something with Minecraft mechanics, or just emote a presentation in-character, etc? How would success/failure be determined?

It's up to you. I'm fine with a simple emoted presentation ICly only, but if you wanted to also sketch a picture, for example, that'd be great! Also, if you have a rental region in New Town, Regalia, you're welcome to decorate it with props to help your presentation.

Success/failure is somewhat subjective, and somewhat circumstantial, and depends on what Christopher as Grand Curator is looking for, for a particular event. (Alternatively, sometimes, it might be dependent on what members of the Imperial Family or Court have asked him to procure, etc.) Also, he has a monthly budget to work to. When he's "going shopping" for his own events, he'll often give you a few prompts and a theme, and try to chose one item from among all of the samples that you show him, that best suits his purpose for that event.

For example, for the event next Saturday, the theme is "Summer in the Capital", and by visiting several artisans already, he's building a picture in his mind on which pieces from each of them might work together for the event in mind; and which pieces might not.

Perks for artisans who end up getting a commission include: having their work displayed in the Imperial Palace in-game, with a minecraft sign stating the name of the artist and the piece; potential invites to otherwise noble-only events (as long as your character isn't a criminal or aberrant); and potentially some other good stuff down the line.
