This is a follow-on from @Wumpatron 's first post here. Following its announcement, some appear to have shied away from forming resistances at the belief that the warnings amounted to "If you try to resist against an Arken, you give away maim perms". This is not correct, so clear up this and some relating confusions, here are some tibits about the Arken progression:
Good question. There are a few ways you can go about killing, capturing, or resisting an Arken, but for the most part it is down to you to come up with the methods and take the plunge. Your attempts will not always work for a variety of reasons ranging from progression flow to bad execution. Nevertheless, here are some ways you can approach the feat.
Yes and No. While it is possible to attempt an attack on Rikkira when she appears in game, it is best to keep in mind that the Dragon is an entirely unknown force with powers thought to be beyond any of the Arken. The Generals are her first line of defense. Therefore, the Arken protecting her will need to be defeated before the Dragon becomes a viable enemy for resistance groups to attack.
I hope this thread may have cleared up some confusion and helped reduce concerns that resistance groups may have been facing. If you're feeling up to it, get out there and let's battle for Regalia!
- Resistances will NOT give away kill/maim perms for attempting to kill/maim the Arken in an organized manner. This means that, so long as you aren't trying to make a lone stab on the Arken, or insult them without the proper plans to resist, your characters will receive only recoverable damage. We are here as a plot device, not to kill off your character. We will do our utmost best to warn you before you waive kill maims.
- The Arken will no longer be converting Dragon Worshippers unless asked to, or until the plot calls for it. We are of the belief that there are enough Dragon Cultists at this point, and any more would cause undue difficulty for the resistances that are attempting to form. Nevertheless, you still have the option to willfully make your character a Dragon Cultist at any point.

- Impromptu IC battle. This is the most often seen attempt at killing an Arken, the most natural, but also the riskiest. For the best chance at accomplishing this, you will want to have a plan for yourself and your resistance group for when the opportunity arises. When you see or hear about an Arken present in game, you can track them down and attempt to execute your plan. Every Arken defeat will be documented either in a progression or lore announcement.
- Planned IC battle. There are currently three known Arken players, @Wumpatron @Rochelle_ and @Eccetra . If you are finding it difficult to get one online, each of these staff members are open to communicating OOCly to help you with your plots. If you have an idea which you would like to execute, you can approach any of these people with your plan for discussion. This is a necessary step for any attempt that is experimental or does not include maiming/killing the Arken.
- Progression Post. If your idea goes beyond simply killing the Arken (for example capturing for use by the State,) or requires something that cannot be accomplished in-game, there is the option of attempting your feat by progression post. Instead of submitting this through the usual progression entry forum, these will need to be passed through the Arken(s) in question first. It is encouraged to write out your plan in detail and hand it to one of the above lore staff for consideration or approval.
