Ichabod never was designed to die by someone's side or with the aid of an army on his side, but against dozens of knights that could be their own army. No last words, no glorious monologue, none of that. He was cornered from the start. He never was meant to bring his Elvish Empire back to life, but perhaps in irony, not long after his death, the lesser kingdoms organized themselves to become the majestic empire he'd longed for.
