im·pe·ri·um
ˌimˈpirēəm/
noun
noun: imperium
im·pe·ri·al
imˈpirēəl/
adjective
adjective: imperial
1.
of or relating to an empire.
"Britain's imperial era"
synonyms:royal, regal, monarchical, sovereign, kingly, queenly, princely
"imperial banners"
I just wanted to share my knowledge a little bit. I notice that people are using "imperium" a lot to describe their faction, so I want to clarify that an imperium is NOT NECESSARILY the same thing as an empire. An imperium can be an established government practicing absolutism, a time of greatest freedom or ability for an individual (a point in time of this description), or a state which has absolute power over others (this is an empire).
Imperial is an adjective describing what relates to an empire. I remember in the past someone was advertising for people to join their "imperial empire", which pretty much means, "join our empire! We do empire-y things!" I remember when I was younger I would confuse imperial with impervious, impenetrable, or unbeatable. If there's anyone out there who shares this confusion, here's your explanation :3
** If you already knew these things, I encourage you to relent from making a comment thrashing me for posting this or making a big deal out of why I would post this. :| **
