☆ Backstory/Plothooks ☆
Shui grew up amongst the bustling and vibrant streets of the Dexai kingdom, immersing herself in the studies of various forms of visual arts and secret lessons in magic, given to her by her mentor who's name these days seems to evade her.
One day, on the way to her pottery class, she was involved in an accident in which a horse drawn carriage suddenly swerved and hit her as she was pushing a wagon of clay. She ended up unconscious, buried in heavy clay piles and suffering a severe head injury from the impact. In the weeks after her surgery and in her recovery, her hair had slowly begun to turn a pure snow white, starting in clumps and eventually covering her whole head. During this time, her parents, who were more conservative and spiritual in their beliefs, found out about the secret lessons she had been taking in magic. Because of this, and the fact that every doctor who tended to her could not find a medical reason for this transformation that satisfied them, her parents claimed that she had angered their patron god for going behind their backs and that her new white hair was a sign of punishment from the Loong dragons. Thus, they kicked her out onto the streets and stripped her of her family name, leaving her to find her own way to survive and thrive away from everything she had known.
The time spent alone has made her quiet and almost bitter, a pessimist at the best of times, but even still, she has dedicated herself to continuing to worship her patron and uphold the values of the religion she was raised under, knowing deep in her heart that the patron dragon never once doubted her.
