Regalian Weapon And Armour Permits (no Longer Applicable)

The following would be posted at all major thoroughfares of the city, with a copy mailed to each holder of a previous weapon or armour permit.

With the recent upheaval of the law enforcement structures within the city, the duties of armament permits has been bestowed upon Wilvamair Arnyn and the Commander of the Old Guard. allowing citizens the following provisions if accepted:

• Weapon Permits:- Weapon permits allow the bearer to openly carry a weapon, registered by the Old Guard and Arcanum for use in self defence scenarios. The type of weapon desired to be carried must be explicitly stated in the application. Self defence falls under the definition cited in Regalian Law, i.e. "the use of physical force that is less or equal to the threat faced by the defending party." In the interests of public safety and patrolling guards, the following weapons are not allowed to be applied for.
  • Ranged weapons such as crossbows, light bows, Anglian longbows etc. without the specific reason for hunting or the protection of livestock/produce.

All applications for Weapon permits should be sent to William Howlester, Commander of the Old Guard, or Wilvamair Arnyn, Lieutenant Commander of the Arcanum, to reviewed at their discretion. Any and all applications must have a reasonable explanation for being requested, and criminal records will affect the chances of approval. Reasoning for the denial of an application will be provided upon request. Self-defence is a valid reason for application, provided there is an elevated threat of danger upon a person due to their occupation, residence, or otherwise. Such factors should be stated in the application, if the reasoning is indeed self-defence.

All Regalian Laws apply to permit holders, and permits may be revoked at any time, for any reason, as they are a privilege and not a right. Any regalian citizen may apply for these permits, provided they are not Persona Non Grata, or Outsider Civil Status.

NOTE: Mercenary contract and approved Mercenary status permits will be released shortly, after consultation with the Lord Chancellor's office. This will likely fall under the discretion of the assigned Mercenary Commander, however.
