• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

People have been complaining a lot, it just increased to 175. I'm not sure if the server can handle 200 yet. After server sharding there could possibly be 250. But, remember this, the server has probably 500 people waiting to get on at the peak of the day in the U.S. We'll have to increase beyond that to have no wait time getting on the server.

ok eyebrows thanks for that[DOUBLEPOST=1357432798][/DOUBLEPOST]ill just w8 until later in the day ill go play some black ops 2

Which would you rather, a server you can at least play on for a little while during the day, perfectly lag free, or a server with 300 people in it and you not even being able to mine a single stone block for 15minutes?

lagg free server[DOUBLEPOST=1357779146][/DOUBLEPOST]but im prem now so i dont have 2 worry XD

If possible avoid numbers (2 for too) for a better readability.

For the suggestion: We have increased it to 175 not long ago and yes, sharding will change it completely.
What causes lag?
Well, mobs do. Cayorion told me that mobs (hostile and non-hostile) use up to 70% of the CPU. So generating mobs (with spawners, darkrooms, hunting at night) does slow down the engine.

In normal use, with 150 players, we were at 10.3 TPS to 11 TPS. With 175 we usually were at 7-9 TPS. This is the average and can vary.

Correction: With sharding, we can have an unlimited amount of players (in theory), but the capacity depends on how many players are in one world. So there could be a player cap of 200 upwards for each world. (which should motivate some people to move :) )

Is there a statistic on how many mobs are loaded at once? That would be an interesting statistic. :3

On the point of mob grinders, players will always have mob grinders because it gives them an advantage over mob grinders. If only some people had mob grinders, then those people would be dominant. It's similar how because one country has nukes, almost every country needs them to be safe.

My faction have a mob grinder, but i thik it's over rated. You dont get any skill xp, you only get enchanting xp and even then it's just faster to mine and use furnance for xp.
