Letters would be spread around Crookback, each one handwritten and so there were not as much to go around as other public notices. The handwriting was just godawful, clearly written in a way to try and replicate missives made in the past. For those that saw past the chickenscratch, the following letter was posted.
From a Home Returned to at Last.
A Duty to One's Neighbour
It's been a pretty awful past few weeks. I don't have to point that out, you all have probably experienced it first if not secondhand. Friends and family were torn apart, hiding under a terrible force that quite literally towered overhead, and that's not even half of it.
But, that's all over now. And now is the chance to rebuild.
I'm not good with writing these public notices, there's no real telling if people will even read this, but I'm asking you all a favor. Try and help your neighbors in these coming weeks, they need help just as much as you to get their lives back on track. Even if they don't want to admit it.
I know it's hard to ask for help. No one wants to be seen as weak, especially not in Crookback, but no one's a statue. We're all imperfect to a degree, trying to live in a place that isn't too accepting of us otherwise. I'm not asking you to see past your differences, I know those aren't going to go away overnight, I'm only asking that they're set aside for a few days. Let people settle back down into their routines before you take a club to it.
There's no material incentive to do any of this. I'm not being funded by anyone and I'm not able to foot any of the bills you might have myself. That being said, I can take the first step. For anyone that does need help recovering, reach out and I'll do whatever I can to set you back on course. You can find me at that same checkpoint I've always sat at, all you have to do is say hello.
You aren't alone in recovery.
