• Inventory Split Incoming

MassiveCraft will be implementing an inventory split across game modes to improve fairness, balance, and player experience. Each game mode (Roleplay and Survival) will have its own dedicated inventory going forward. To help players prepare, we’ve opened a special storage system to safeguard important items during the transition. For full details, read the announcement here: Game Mode Inventory Split blog post.

Your current inventories, backpacks, and ender chest are in the shared Medieval inventory. When the new Roleplay inventory is created and assigned to the roleplay world(s) you will lose access to your currently stored items.

    Important Dates

    • April 1: Trunk storage opens.
    • May 25: Final day to submit items for storage.
    • June 1: Inventories are officially split.

Please make sure to submit any items you wish to preserve in the trunk storage or one of the roleplay worlds before the deadline. After the split, inventories will no longer carry over between game modes.

Massive Expansion?

I think it would be awesome if we expanded into orher games.
That being said, I know that would be difficult as cayorion and the other devs have no experience with other games code. This I can help with.
I can build custom Gmod DarkRP servers, complete with custom weapons.
For a medieval DarkRP server I would need a melee weapons base, as I am pretty sure you guys don't want a ton of crowbar/stunstick/knife reskins(there are enough of those already).
For a modern server(modern regalia :) I can make weapons simply using the built-in DarkRP base, but PLEASE MAKE SOMEONE ELSE DO THE SIGHTS! I hate aligning the sights. All I need is a worldmodel and viewmodel then I can make it into a gun

I think it's a very good idea! Unfortunately though, not everyone who currently plays Massivecraft is able to get steam, or afford Garry's Mod. Maybe just stick with minecraft. Hopefully modding API comes out soon, and we can have much fun with custom MassiveCraft mods. <3

Its possible to do that now, just release the server content on Technic. Plus massive already has MPM, and I know a few other mods that add to the RPG experience, I got a minimap mod and a custom HUD mod that beeps when my HP is low.

We don't want any server-side mods, so be wary. This is supposed to be an anyone-can-play-without-hassle-server.

I was simply stating it's possible. I think the Plugin API will include custom content download similar to Garry's Mod anyway.
Anyway this is supposed to be a suggestion thread on massive's expansion anyway.
If we were to expand to another game, would we change the community name too? Like maybe Massive Gaming? Or Massive Network? Or my favorite: MassiveNet

Heheh... If this can be pulled off without forcing people to download stuff, good luck.
I wouldn't be as brave to say that I would do this for Massive.

To be totally honest, a fair chunk of the massive community play together on many other games anyway. I know that a lot of the PvP community play League or DOTA, I have a fair few friends whom I play Xbox games with, and one or two whom I play Pokemon with. The amount of work that is being put into MassiveCraft as it is, is absolutely astounding, and branching into another game would put so much more pressure onto the staff. And I know, there probably aren't many medieval RP communities on Gmod. But, personally, I just go on Gmod to mess around with my friends, to do something different. If the world was all the same, it would be a boring place indeed.

I can host, staff, and develop for you guys. What game you guys want?

There is a gamemode called DarkRP that can be completely modified into a Medieval RP server. People mod DarkRP into their own gamemodes all the time.
Only if the same staff worked on other games. If this happened, more staff would be recruited to deal with it.

That said, I am neutral on this.
I am thinking of a Massivecraft sub/sister community that would handle all of massives out of MC content.

So let me compile the list of problems and solutions on this thread into one post:

P:spreading the staff too thin, or hiring new staff
S:I will set up a sister/sub community with its own staff.

P: Hosting
S: I am willing to host.

P: development
S: I can do custom content for Gmod, such as SWEPs and a DarkRP-based gamemode.

If there are any other issues continue posting. Otherwise I will move to a new thread proposing this project.

My problem is I just see no reason to do this. Most people on massivecraft have no problem with minecraft, so there just isn't any reason to do it. I personally don't care for most games other than minecraft, and I seriously doubt any of the current community would follow over to the new game. I know I wouldn't.

As fun as it would be to have other MassiveCraft groups playing some of the games I play (like GoodGameEmpire, Civ5, and (rarely) TheSettlers) I think that MassiveCraft is fine sticking to Minecraft, with groups working together out of the game as friends.

For the sake of my opinion, Make your own server.

No matter how good your server gets, its really hard to get even a small playerbase without spamvertizing. This is because there are just too many servers, coupled with the fact there is no central in-game server directory, like in source games.

  1. Regalia is already hard enough to handle at times, and most people gravitate towards the tavern. How can we even be sure players will want to be on the new world/area?
  2. It sounds like you just want people to help you create your own server.
  3. It's possible to get players for a small server without advertising/spamming. You just have to find the right places.
  4. Shouldn't this be in Feature & Idea Discussion, rather than General? @Ha5h

Advertising your own thing on someone elses server forums is highly discouraged and quite rude and unprofessional. So im going to ask you to think about what your doing and if you want to continue doing it.

Player is banned. LOCKED since it is no longer relevant.
