Well, hi.

It's been like seven months, but now I have an Artist 15.6 Graphic Display..

and I'm shook.

So, now I can practice my digital art again. I'll post my pieces, regardless if they're sketches or full-out portraits or whatever. It's gonna be a journey, but I hope to improve!

This is a character concept sketch piece I did before bed. It's very simple w/ minimal shading and little touches of luminosity. And I thought it was fun to draw.

We all have moments where we're like '..Ew.' to our own work. This was one of those moments for me.

However, for the sake of practicing and trying to get my groove back in digital, I'll post my practice anyways. I was looking to a 3d model with various lighting hitting it. The face part, and I mean literally just the face, is pretty okay. But everything else around it?? As you can tell..

I'm a mess. It's a mess. This entire thing is a mess.

Oh whale. More practice to come.

I know you just said this is a mess, but I really must say that I do love the piece! It's really beautiful and I think you've done a fantastic job. I look forward to seeing more pieces from you!

I ended up finishing it. I'm not too sure how I feel about it, but I wanted to try this out. Playing with the lighting was interesting and actually really fun.

Thanks! I still use Paint Tool SAI as pretty much my one and only art program. The brushes I use primarily are a little specifically assigned.

• When I want to draw something that looks a little less clean around the lines, more sketchy-like I use the Canvas Acryl brush. It's the brush I used for the Agatha head and the sketch of Katriane.
• I have a brush I've edited and adjusted so I can use it as a very nice, clean Lineart brush. Very sleek. I normally use it when I want pretty pieces. I used that on the Maeva Peirgarten piece.
• Colors are kind of more open. I typically use the Pen brush to do flat colors, then I use anything from the Airbrush, Marker, Paper Acryl, or the Watercolor brush to get different feels for color or textures. The airbrush is definitely great for Luminosity (lighting) effects.
