d'Ortonnaise Diplomatic Conduct
Audrey d'Ortonnaise opened up diplomatic Channels to the Elven Empire, eventually dealing with a low level emissary. Informal conversations proved fruitless. Her attempts however to measure the climate in the Elven Empire prove more successful. Her findings essentially confirm what many would have speculated: The Elven Empire is held together by fear, disgust and necessity against the Regalian Empire and the Shendar and Saivalthar as well as the Wild Union. Essentially, political circumstances demand cooperation of the Elves who normally are too busy undermining each other. That being said, she also assesses that this situation is rapidly altering the status quo, and that eventually any chances for dissent may melt away. Essentially, the longer the current situation lasts, the more likely the Elves are to getting over their internal differences and becoming comfortable in the Empire they have reformed. It is as such also assumed that as long as Regalia is an a state of war with the Elves, that there is absolutely no chance of sowing discontent and dissent, and that they will remain together.
Kaya Sorenvik Investigative Conduct
Kaya Sorenvik was found to be hiring numerous investigators to travel to the Anglian borderlands, more specifically lands held by the Harhold Family. She herself remained across the borders in the City of Turent, within the fiefdom of the Barons of Turent and Tormoor from where she oversaw the investigative operations. The investigators attempt to secretly take in witness statements and physical evidence, but start dropping one by one. When over half of Kaya's investigators disappeared, she opted to travel to Harhold's towns herself to investigate where her investigators went. Hoping to find her investigators at the assigned safehouses and meeting locations, she instead repeatedly stumbled on the same gruesome scene: Numerous investigators found dead, usually in varying states of dismemberment and often almost unrecognizable from having their faces chewed off by rabid dogs. She eventually left the Anglian Massif, but the few investigators that survived did uncover numerous pieces of evidence to prove that certain crimes were committed on orders of higher ups against the locals in the Harhold lands, though Hengest's personal involvement could not be proven.
The coin of the Open Ocean Guild
The Assembly's sweeping approval of the Open Ocean Guild's right to charter trade posts in foreign lands and to levy its own tariffs had entirely unexpected side effects. While generating income for the running family of the Open Ocean Guild, House Black, and while also giving them title projection through newfound fame across the sea, the merchants of the Open Ocean Guild end up outcompeting state merchants of the Regalian House of Trade. In the shortest terms, Open Ocean Merchants end up pushing out Regalian State Merchants either by undercutting the gruesome state tariffs, or by simply playing on anti state sentiment of the foreigners. The immediate effect in state coffers is a decline in eastbound trade resources, meaning a drop in taxation and the state's income hitting into a deficit. While the difference appears to be minimal right now, economic theorists suggest that further galvanization of the destruction of the House of Trade's monopoly, will exponentially cause the treasury to suffer. The first and as of yet only organization to respond, was the Regalian House of Trade's sister organization: The Kade House of Trade with its grain monopolies in Anglia. The Chairman of the Kade House of Trade, Gerwald Kade, Baron of Eelsteijn made a public defamation statement against the Open Ocean Guild, proclaiming them greedy rats siphoning state funds away for personal benefit, and summarily embargoed their merchants, shut down their chapters in the whole landmass of Anglia and caused an immediate grain shortage in Dragenthal. While there was no real famine or food issue in the south, the resulting increase in bread prices required the affected families to compensate by purchasing much more expensive state grain, which eventually created a comical circle where the House of Trade tried to punish the Open Ocean Guild by jacking up the grain prices sent to House Black's lands to compensate for the loss of income on trade tariffs. The struggle between Mercantilism and Free Trade would likely continue to generate much conflict in the near future, as minimal as the local effects seemed to be for now, due to all involved parties compensating themselves by punishing the others.
((There was also formally an order about sabotaging a foreign army by a gang, and Ombre Orders for investigating Dragons in the east, but both were removed from the progression planning as their outcome narratives did not seem to yield any results that could feasibly lead to roleplay progression))
